Made an appointment via phone, arrived and waited 5-10 minutes for a chair. The girl who checked us in was nice and (unlike other reviews state) spoke English clearly. We were given an option for a free cocktail, wine, margarita or a beer as we were getting into our massage chairs, from the same girl who checked us in. My friend chose a margarita and I chose a beer. Another person came around and informed me they actually didn't have any beer (Corona) which was a bummer. Why offer it if you don't have it? Whatever, I decided on a "margarita" which ended up being strawberry wine and a lime. Umm... that's NOT a margarita. Yes, I know this isn't a bar but my thoughts are: If you are going to offer a drink, make it with the correct ingredients and/or have what you offer in the fridge. Good thing I brought my own drink, not an alcoholic beverage but 100% better than what they offered. You get what you pay for I suppose, lol. Moving on to the pedicure... They have an outstanding color selection for solid colors, jelly, design and glitter colors in both standard nail polish and gel polish. (Best color selection I've ever seen!) An older guy walked in from the back, sat at the foot of the chair I was in, said hello and did his best to ask what color I chose. He didn't speak English at all but he tried so, 'A' for effort. I chose a Classic Pedicure, and he did a decent job. He didn't make any conversation since well... he couldn't because of the language barrier. I didn't mind, I chatted with my friend, zoned out and scrolled my phone. I don't have any complaints, he gave me a basic pedicure which was all I wanted. I trimmed my nails directly before going in because I don't like when the techs cut them since often times they cut them into a shape that I don't like. I asked for "no cut, only file and cuticle removal" so that's what he did along with the massage and painting my nails. I will definitely be visiting this place again, but I'll choose the guy that did my friends nails. I thought hers paint job looked better and her nail tech spoke English so that was a plus. Overall a good experience, just make sure to bring your own drink unless all you want is water or white wine since that's what they seem to have an abundance of. read more

I do love coming to this place! I went here for my wedding nails and the whole era of it and I didn't have to schedule a specific person because they all did great! Pedicure and manicure. Front desk girls are even great and helpful. Although, today is the first time I might reconsider going somewhere else for my manicure needs. I was looking forward for some good cuticle care, hand massage , all the things a classic manicure includes on thier service page. My hands got wrecked from work. All I got was the nail color ( I added on the gel x service too ) and nail shaping/cutting. Once the nice guy asked how I like them I said they look great but.. that's it? No cuticle care at least? ( what I desperately needed!) and he said I needed to ask for that in the beginning. He went ahead and did it real quick but still left with my hands not taken 100% care of. You can still can still hang nails, redness, etc. Never have I had to ask to make sure I get all services they display on thier website and in house that you're paying for. Figured since it's advertised it would come with those basic needs ( which usually did come with it before!) I guess it's frustrating I'm paying for the full service and spending the money especially for gel x add on, just to get 50% of the experience. Even gal next to me just got regular gel and she got the massage! Shouldn't be consistent service? I feel crazy for questioning it and maybe that's normal but for sure make sure to ask for the whole package if that matters to you is the point of this post. read more

Slay Nail Lounge - Nail Salons Near Me - Chico, California

Expensive, uncomfortable, incomplete. I wanted to try something new, so I did a walk in at Slay. Apparently the $68 "fill" didn't include a cuticle trim even though I specifically asked for it when I checked in. The chair I was sat in was tiny! I'm a medium sized woman but I had to squeeze my butt into that seat. I even expressed my discomfort and was shrugged off (literally). No one, from front of house to the nail tech were remotely friendly. There are many other nail salons in Chico that give much better service, so that's where I'll be going in the future. read more

From the front desk staff to the nail technicians, everyone is friendly, welcoming and professional. They offer you a beverage and the range of options that they have for colors is exciting. A lot of cat eye options! This was my first time getting a builder gel manicure along with cat eye and they had me in and out of there a little under an hour. Fast service with amazing quality work. Huda was great! read more

My first time at SLAY! I've been trying to find time to try them out and I was not disappointed- but almost! First the reception ladies are amazing. They attend to everyone's needs and anticipate the next customer service request, or in my case, correcting an unmet outcome. I plan to go there again. read more

Always the BEST experience everyone is great and never any issues nails always on point when I leave

To be honest great nails, but the service was a bit rushed and they were combative towards my mother and I, she didn't like her nails at all didn't look like what she requested. We were gonna get mani pedis but the attitudes were so bad we just left after getting our nails done. The vibe is definitely super nice and maybe it was just a bad day but that was our experience. Sorry I don't have photos of the nails, right after we left we got them redone at a different salon.. read more

I just had my nails done by Mary. The acrylic fill itself was beautiful. But then she did exactly what I wanted with chrome and cat eye and gave me a beautiful set of Stained Glass nails. Thank you Mary for a beautiful job. read more

I've returned multiple times now to get my nails done by Rio and he always does exactly what I request! He is precise, clean, and a great listener. Along with that, though the prices may be pricier than other locations I have always loved my results from here rather than other locations. I definitely recommend Slay Nails, and also Rio! read more

Engie is fantastic! She is very patient and understanding with my adult daughter with special needs. My daughter had a full set of acrylic nails with gel polish, in addition to a signature pedicure. Engie was very attentive and friendly, and did excellent work. We are extremely happy with Engie and Slay Nail Lounge. It is a comfortable and relaxing environment in a beautiful salon. read more

I have had 3 wonderful experiences at Slay. Yesterday was the 1st time I showed a picture and asked for that to be done. I was extremely impressed with Merry and am so thankful that she is the one that was assigned to me the first time I went in. read more

Slay Nail Lounge - Not a great picture - but I like the outcome. - Nail Salons Near Me - Chico, California

Super disappointing experience here. The young lady doing my nails was snotty and so was the girl at the front desk. I got a french tip manicure and it was done incredibly sloppily (see first picture). 24 hours later and they've all chipped (see third picture). Not to mention that their services say that a manicure includes everything in the second picture, cuticle care, trimming, massage etc. and I got NONE of that. You can see in the picture that my cuticles haven't been cleaned up and I didn't get any cuticle oil or lotion, let alone a MASSAGE! What a waste. The place looks so nice and fancy but man they do not live up to expectations. read more

First time at Slay Nail Lounge. I am a 30+ year veteran of the Chico area nail scene. Mind you, being a guy, I do not get my nails done a lot, but enough. Main purpose is to help avoid in grown toenails; I get 3-4 pedicures a year an a manicure about once a year. This trip to Slay was for both. Pedicure was nice, just went with a basic/classic with a parafin wax addon. Service was quick and didn't hurt like other places I have been. The manicure was also good. I did not get any color. The shopping center where they are located was also nice with regards to surrounding businesses. All in all I would highly recommended Slay Nail Loinge. read more

I was really disappointed with my experience at Slay Nail Lounge. I have heard great things about this salon but the staff were very rude and didn't provide the whole experience that comes with the service. I got a full gel x set and the nails are lifted upwards (they look like claws). The gold French tip the nail tech did is already chipping and it's barely been 24 hours (I'm not harsh on my hands nor do I use any harsh chemicals/cleaners). The receptionist was very rude and unkind. I spent $80 on a gel x set for them to be crooked, lifted, chipping, and for only cuticle oil to be applied (their manicure included lotion and a brief massage and I didn't receive either of those services). I was really excited to go to this salon and have a great girls day and it ended up being not fun at all. I would not recommend this salon at all. read more

Went here to try out something new.... I got gel nails and less than 5 days later they are peeling off and look horrible and now I have to go get them redone. I didn't do anything out of the ordinary, no reason for them to be falling apart less than a week later :/ not to mention it was difficult communicating with the woman who did my nails. read more

Cat eyes Gel X (colors chosen 16 + 33). Nails done by Sue. I love the way Sue does my nails. I went to her before when she worked at a different salon. Got these done 10/22/25. It's now 12/16 and I still have them, obviously over grown but no chips or broken nails. Love this salon. These colors were chosen for the theme of my baby shower. Thank you, need to go back soon to get a new set of nails. read more

The place is really nice and clean, everything is modernized. We had appts for 3 pedicures and a fill, they called us right away and started in 2 pedicures and the fill. The pedicure was rushed, I asked for white polish, my toenails do not have polish covering the full toenail, it's like the lady created her own shape and painted that portion of my toenail only. I didn't notice it until I got home. My daughter asked if they had time for a new set and they said yes which was nice. My daughter selected the classic pedicure for both of us which was supposed to be $25 with regular polish, we asked for gel which was $15 more which was fine, when the lady was done she handed me a post it with $48 for the classic pedicure with gel (I don't see how $25and $15 add up to $48 but whatever... while they were finishing my daughters new set I went up to the counter handed them the post its with $48 on one and $48 and $78 on the one for my daughter the young lady added it all up and I paid. I went to my car to wait for my daughter and sister and as I'm I'm waiting on the car my sister called me that the ladies at the nail salon were saying I didn't pay for everything, I had to go back inside to show them proof of payment, showed them the post it's I handed the young lady when I paid- I paid for 2 pedicures and 1 new set- there was 3 young ladies looking all confused saying i didn't pay for the pedicure and again I pointed to the post it showing 2 pedicure and 1 new set so which one was missing. They said something in their language and then said oh it wasn't her it was someone else. They didn't apologize for accusing me of not paying, didn't do a good job with my pedicure, I will not be going back there, the place is nice, cool with AC and they offer drinks but the service was not the best, I have never been accused of not paying for the services I've gone in for. read more

After running a half marathon this weekend, I was excited to treat my sore feet and legs to a relaxing pedicure. Unfortunately the "stress-relieving foot massage" that is advertised was anything but that. It was more like two minutes of the nail tech rubbing the same spot over and over with his long nails digging into the bottom of my foot. And despite the fact that I told him just to trim my toenails "a little bit", they are now so short they hurt. For $58 I won't be booking a pedicure anytime in the near future. read more
