Then I found this place. They did an excellent job, replacing the soles and heels on one pair of boots and the inner sole on another pair of boots. The best part was that they only took two weeks, which was wonderful! To make things even better, when I went to pick up my boots I messed up and thought they opened at 8 AM when they actually opened at 9 AM, but they went ahead and opened for me so that I could pick up my boots! I will definitely be bringing other pairs of my boots back here and highly recommend them!

I had asked my husband to stop at the factory in Medina to see if they were still in business. We did, but they were closed. A sign on the door said if they weren't open, to go to their store in Bandera, called the Leather Bank. We did just that and were greeted by a wonderful saleswoman named Barbara. I told her that I and members of my family used to carry Collins handbags, which are now considered vintage. She told us the history of CollIns handbags and gave us a tour of the store, which included a collection of vintage Collins wooden and jeweled bags. I told her that when I lived in New Orleans, I sold Collins bags at my retail store, but didn't know they were still in business. (We had driven by the factory in Medina many times but it always looked closed.) Their products are still high quality and beautifully made. Not the friendliest. most helpful, and certainly not knowledgeable employees I've encountered. Was in the store for about 10 minutes before I even knew anyone was working. Nice selection of all types of leather goods; however, the quality is mixed (some much better than others) and some prices are a tad high (but it is located on Main, so I get it). I was interested in one specific piece and asked one of the clerks if they had it in black. Another gal looked in their backstock and concluded the correct response was "no." Me to snotty clerk behind register, "Will you get more in? Do you know when?...." Her, "Um, like yeah..but don't know when...and the black ones always sell out first" *while giving me a "I don't give a crap, you're wasting my time" look. I managed to wrangle the manufacture's information out of her, so I called them myself (wholesaler only located in NY) - so much effort on my behalf because this was a specific phone case/wallet combo I've wanted for a looong time. Guess what? The manufacturers do not make that product in black - never ever,...so how can the store sell out black first? Employees are simply not vested in any way on the businesses success. Best of luck to the proprietor(s). BTW, I did end up in purchasing the product I wanted in a different color....so you still made a sale. Sorry, it was just not a pleasant shopping experience.
