Jason came out and did a thorough inspection and found that there wasn't a problem with my drains. He explained that the type of drain stopper in my bathroom makes it slower to drain, and the kitchen was due to the disposal not running. He did a quick adjustment and got the disposal up and going again. I asked how much I owed and he said that there was no charge. I came here to leave the a well deserved five star review because it was the least I could do for the kindness shown. I am so unbelievably grateful that I went with A-List. Curt arrives next day to do the ROUTINE toilet flange replacement. Curt completes the job in 45 minuets. Great. I meet Curt at his truck to pay, I have $20 in my hand for a tip. Curt hands me a bill for $780. Curt labeled the flange replacement a "custom job." It was not custom by any definition. I don't know if I was charged for the day before when Tanner could not do the work. The bill stated "custom job $780.00 plus tax. No breakdown for parts and labor. Parts were 1 pvc toilet flange, 1 pvc 3 inch 90, 1 3 inch pvc union and approximately 2 feet of 3 inch pvc pipe. I will guess on the heavy side for parts at $75. So labor was $705 for the 45 minuets of work. Neurosurgeons in Washington state average $378 an hour. I called Curt the next day. Not much to be said about the bill. Get the estimate, get the second opinion! I'm an idiot. I kept the $20. I completely understand that there are real business costs-running service trucks, employee wages and insurance, fuel, overhead, and everything else that goes into operating a quality company. But $2,510 felt incredibly high for what I expected to be roughly a three-hour job. I was anticipating something in the $900-$1,200 range with the sink and faucet already supplied. I don't mind paying for quality work, but this quote was far beyond what I expected and ultimately made it impossible to move forward. If customer service is your priority, they're great. If you're price shopping, I'd recommend getting multiple estimates.
