This is a wonderful way to view the city of Queenstown from above. You can see the lake and the Remarkables and it is so beautiful. It is a bit crowded out on the balcony, but totally worth it. The lift up is pretty steep, but it's cool because you can put your mountain bike on it and ride to the top (I take it there are some trails form the top). You go right by the bungee jump & swing, so that is fun to watch. Atop there is a gift shop, and the luge- which looks kind of intense considering it is just small curbs to keep you from flying off of the mountain haha. You can buy your bungee jumping/swing tickets from up top as well (this is AJ Hackett- not the Canyon Swing). There is a bar up there and a restaurant that overlooks the town. It would be a great place for a romantic dinner or just to watch the sunrise. Don't bother buying your lift ticket in advance since you still have to wait in the ticket line to get them to print it for you (you can't print it- it has to be them). Pretty pointless. One complaint is that your ticket is only good for one round-trip. Had I known that, I would've waited until sunset to use our ride- I bet the view is even more stunning. It is good for all ages and definitely something to see, but just make sure you go when you want to,a s the ticket it only good for one trip.

This was our first time ever riding on a Gondola. Our Airbnb host told us that the ride up is the same height as the lake is deep. Fun fact right? We didn't do anything up there aside from take pictures at the ever so beautiful panoramic view of the city. There was a Maori wedding happening that caught everyone's attention. This beautiful native bride walking the halls to her reception. Since I was on my honeymoon, I got a little choked up. There is a restaurant, luge ride and a gift shop. Just not enough time to do everything, but if you have the time, do it all if you can.

The view from the viewing top was beautiful. The area was a bit small though. We also had buffet at the restaurant which offered similar view. The service was very pleasant and efficient. There were quite a few tour groups came for the dinner. I wish there were choice of a la carte menu.

My brothers and I enjoyed the gondola ride. I would say that the descent is quite steep. We experienced differences in air pressure and topography and even spotted some wildlife on the way up. The views from the top were spectacular: The beautiful city of Queenstown and Lake Wakatipu against the backdrop of the Remarkable Mountains. There is also a restaurant and souvenir shop. Plus, visitors can ride the luges there.

Ribeye was tender but most interesting were the stuff on the side - asparagus with lamb bacon, and lamb meat flakes and capers over feta cream. The flavors perfectly balanced the richness of the lamb. *chef's kiss* 2-honey cherry dessert was a perfect mix of milky creamy honey fruity. Felt like a dreamy dessert that came from foraging. 3-duck parfait over flaxseed beet chip was also delightful. Perfect mix of textures. The mousse tasted like foie gras. 4-I really enjoyed the tomato consommé we started with. It came out of a tea pot and did taste a bit like tea. Umami and complex and refreshing. 5-salmon was great - smoked eggplant purée on the side went well with it. I liked that it came with koji butter, and was served with sourdough and marmite butter. Marmite tastes similar to soy sauce so it went really well with the salmon dish. Other dishes were also good even if not quite as memorable as the above. Overall the food excelled at complex flavor profiles. I thought the food itself was equivalent to somewhere in between a Michelin one and two star. Service was a bit uneven though waiter was friendly. Ambiance was pretty casual.

We were seated fast and ordered 2 coffees and pancakes with a pastry. My biggest standout were the pancakes, I'm a simple guy who likes my pancakes and they were oh so fluffy, chewy, dense and honestly that filled me up surprisingly a lot because I wasn't expecting them to be so big. They put real cherries and cream on top. The serving sizes are definitely generous. I recommend them for their breakfast and coffee, especially for the central location, great view and seating areas.

I ordered my go-to breakfast item, which is their Vudu Benedict ($30NZD), along with a cup of their Housemade Lemon Honey Ginger ($6). You order at their counter in the middle of the shop, and then they give you a number to take to your table. The tea came out pretty quickly, and the benedict followed maybe about 10 minutes after. The benedict was good, and while there was only 1 egg, the whole thing stuffed me for hours afterwards. The bread at the bottom was definitely the most filling part, and I was struggling to finish it all. They had a glass display with various bakery items, and they looked so good I was so tempted to get something even though I was stuffed from the benedict. If I ever come back to Queenstown I would definitely be coming back here to try some of those bakery items.

I ordered the French onion soup for an entree, the venison for the main plus the duck fat potatoes. Hands down the French onion soup was the most delicious thing I had all night, and probably in my two weeks in New Zealand. It was fantastic. The venison came out. Great presentation. But even with the sauces that it came with--the exception being the *two* bits of onion that came with the meal--it was very average. Not bad. It was cooked well. Rare as the chef suggested. But there was little there there. Definitely not as flavorsome as the French onion soup which set my expectations really high. Then the duck fat potatoes--are just potatoes? Like, literally chucks of potatoes (cooked well) but without any seasoning. No sauce. Nothing. Very bland potatoes. So in the end you had this really clunky meal that wasn't overwhelmingly delicious. It was just good. But this is meant to be a bit of an upscale joint for Queenstown, so it misses the mark. The exception to all of this mediocrity was the service. The service was impeccable. I should note there was a bit of time between the starter & the main but that's probably more of a back of the house issue. They do know how to cook things well, so I think if you come here for a steak, you probably won't be terribly disappointed. I expected a bit more. All that said, I would come back and drink gallons of that soup.
