I'd heard about this place and was expecting a very different looking building. It's a charming old wooden building literally on the beach. I called beforehand and reserved a table for 4 people outside and I was very glad I did because the weather was amazing and the outside area was full. The staff were excellent and very helpful and friendly. The food was delicious and served in a timely manner. The location is the best thing about the first closely followed by the staff and excellent food. If you're going to visit and the weather is good then book early! Thoroughly recommended.

Pork belly !

Lunch with a stunning view? Yes please! The Bathhouse is a small restaurant that overlooks Lake Wakatipu. If you're able to grab a table outside you should! It can get super windy outside, if so, maybe skip ordering a salad unless you want your food to fly out to the lake. We enjoyed a couple of lattes and ordered the pork belly and the scallops for lunch. The food was truly cooked to perfection! I mean it when I say this was some of the best pork belly that I've had in awhile. The slaw and mashed potatoes served with the pork belly were so flavorful ! I could order this meal again and again. My husband enjoyed his meal and I stole a few bites from him and liked it as well. The Bathhouse was a nice change from all of the bland food that we had during our visit to New Zealand. Service was attentive and friendly, which made the meal even more enjoyable. If you're in Queenstown I highly recommend that you check this place out!

The photo doesn't do justice to how glorious the view from the outside tables is

This place has what surely must be one of the best views from a restaurant in Queenstown. It's right on the water with stunning views over the lake and mountains. Grab an outside table if the weather permits. I unfortunately didn't get a chance to try their food, but I was impressed by their generously sized and well made iced coffees.

Carrot cake is a must try. Made by a local resident and delicious!

Our group had the chowder, pie of the day, and eggs Benedict. Chowder is a must try and the other two were very good. For dessert, the cupcakes and carrot cake are amazing. Also, there's a park next door where the kids can play and if you eat outside you can see them while they play.

Best breakfast in Queenstown! Service was amazing as well. It's a historical icon which I'd highly recommend.

So beautiful we had to leave. The colors change every second at sunset... Too much to comprehend in the best way possible.

Caribe caught my attention due to its colorful Latin-inspired decor and tables/seating. I initially asked to order the prawn & cheese empanada, but the cashier told me they did not have prawns. Instead, I ordered the mushroom & cheese empanada, which did not dissapoint! The outer layer was crispy, flaky, golden goodness. The mushroom and cheese combo was not something I've had before. It didn't scream "Latin" to me, but that didn't stop it from being delicious. I also got an order of the vegetarian arepas, which was my least favorite of the two. I wish the veggies that came with it were more hearty; it appeared that they used something similar to a frozen mix of peas, corn, and diced carrots. Again, it was still yummy, but I think it could be elevated with beans! The arepa breading itself was fresh and crispy.

We ordered a passionfruit and regular frozen margarita and both were great! The place itself is colorful, cozy and vibrant which is exactly what you would expect from a Latin restaurant. The food came out pretty fast which is another bonus. The beef empanadas were some of the best I've ever had seriously. The arepa was another great choice and so were the quesadillas. Stop by if you're ever in Queenstown you won't regret this little gem.

The meal was creative, inspired, with an uncommon combination of ingredients that was surprisingly delicious. The pork carnitas dish was so well balanced--the pork was rich and cooked perfectly and balanced with some grilled peach and marinated cherries. The salmon ceviche came with some unique sesame cracker. The texture was delightful when mixed with the salmon and some cucumber, red onion, and bell pepper. The Cloud Bay clams with squid ink noodles was so interesting-- good, but a little too salty for me (but I'm more sensitive to salt than most). Best meal we've had in all of South Island!

We ordered couple of lovely cocktails which were delicious. I got a mezcal cocktail and they had fresh thyme in it. It smelled so amazing that I thought they probably literally picked it up from their garden. Though this is Tapas style, Our server mentioned that between a couple, 3-4 dishes were good.. we were so confused in regards to what to order since everything looked amazing. After having decided about 3-4 dishes we went ahead and ordered the ceviche, the potatoes, the mussels and lamb and loved everything. If you are in the area, highly recommend coming here. Also ususally this place is booked so they appreciate reservations !

We went on a beautiful, warm, sunny summer day just about as soon as they opened. We opted to sit outside for lunch to take in the views and some sunshine. I suppose it's a casual restaurant, but the food is outstanding and the presentation is top notch. The food can be a bit pricey given the tapas style sharable portions, but the thoughtful mix of flavors and fresh ingredients make the experience well worth the price. Naturally they have an extensive wine list boasting local wines and some from other well known international wine regions. It was a rose kind of day, and a glass of the local Terra Sancta rose was perfect. We ordered light - just 3 small plates for the two of us - but it was all delicious. The Baked Empanadas came with three types - beef & provolone, porkbelly & sweet corn puree, and mushroom, provolone cheese and raisins. The Goat Cheese Croquettes were served with local honey, greens and toasted almonds - a must order! I don't eat seafood, but my husband thoroughly enjoyed the Baja Fish Tacos. We ordered a tapas sharing menu for dinner, loved the prawns + cider tapas, and the tacos was amazing. I loved how they have designed the pineapples with a fish cod fillet and blend it with some simple sauces. The chorizos are from a nearby town, so some good local flavor blended in. We sat outside on the patio and had an amazing view of the mountains and vineyards. I would def come back here again if I am back in NZ. A must visit!
