    Entrance to Skyline Dog Park.

Brand-new fenced-in park (well, new as compared to other parks in the area, but about a year old), that is HUGE, built on a previously unused hill right next to the 280 South, right off the Trousdale exit in the hills of Burlingame. As others have said, parking can be slightly challenging, although I happened to get one of the few allotted paved spaces, but there is ample parking on Skyline before the two allotted spaces where you can simply park on the side of the road inside the white line. There is one space for disabled visitors -- the only problem is that this park will be extremely difficult for a physically challenged person to navigate because it's all uphill from the gate on a dirt surface with no railings. Plenty of space for dogs to run, plus two picnic tables and two benches, one at the top of the hill. Water fountain with spouts for dogs and humans, and also one to fill up your water bottle -- although if your dog is a constant drinker and needs to get water a lot, when you're up on the hill it's a little difficult to to continuously navigate down the hill and back again. If your dog can wait til before you leave that's probably best -- unless your game for some good exercise. Oh, and really nice people and nice dogs. My one complaint is that in the strip of area closest to the freeway, there's a lot of foxtail, at least right now in August (there are photos above showing grass at other times of the year). It appears the Burlingame Parks Dept did their best to mow it down, although the mower blades can't get every single foxtail, plus they grow back fast. I would encourage the Parks Dept to make it a priority to double-down on mowing the foxtail when they're in season and then use some type of sweeper to pick up as much of the cuttings as possible. Foxtails can be very dangerous for dogs. That being said, most dogs were playing on the side of the hill closest to Skyline where there was bare evidence of foxtail. Before getting in the car, I checked my dog's paws, legs and nose and found no foxtails (and, suggestion: you should too). I do also think the City of Burlingame should look into investing more in a formal stairs with railing OR a switchback trail that starts at the entrance and goes all the way up the hill to perhaps where the line of young tree plantings are to not only accommodate physically challenged persons, but just everyone in general because I could see slips and falls happening at times in the future. I suggest they contact the City of Fairfield's Parks Dept and ask them to send photos and/or plans of their excellent Cordelia Park, where they have a switchback trail up a steep hill to get to the dog park at top. Skyline doesn't need anything as fancy as theirs but could use that as a model. Also Yelp says it's open 24/7 but the sign outside the park says sunrise to sunset. I'll submit a correction to Yelp but sometimes it takes a while. But, that all said, this is definitely one of the COOLEST new parks in the Upper Peninsula and definitely a "destination dog park" for you and your four-legged child! (Note: one other reviewer below, Charlie, who happened to be the first to review, stated emphatically that this is solely a dog park and not for children; however, upon reviewing information I found posted by the City of Burlingame, that is not correct -- it is a regular public park which allows picnics and recreational activities and such but that allows dogs to be off-leash so, in essence, a combination regular park and dog park. The park's name is Skyline Park, not Skyline Dog Park. That being said, it appears to have naturally morphed into really just a dog park for the most part (although maybe when there's grass here people will picnic?). So, children are definitely allowed, although, I take his point, do be careful as there is a great deal of dog activity on the grounds at all times which may conflict with any children playing.)

Really nice fenced in dog park. I just wish there are a lot of dogs there. We got there at 10:30am on Sunday morning and the entire park is empty. No one in sight. After 10 mins, one person with a dog shows up. She said this park is hit or miss. Week night has more dogs than weekend. We stayed for about 30 mins and there are two more dogs show up. Overall, it's a nice dog park as there are a lot of open space and trees provide good shades. Maybe we will try again on week night. There are only 2 official parking space for this park. I guess everyone could just park on the side of the road if it gets busy?

This off leash dog park is provided by Burlingame Parks & Rec. Was closed 05/29/24 through 06/07/24 for some grading work but is back open now (visited 06/12/24). It is quite a large area, completely fenced in, with lots of smells for our canine friends. If there was anything that could improve the facility would be covering/removing/ cutting down foxtails that unfortunately can be very detrimental to dogs. It looks like some of the grading has covered up a large area, which is great. Facility is constructed on a fairly steep hillside, so some may find it difficult to traverse. There is a water fountain provided, but it is at the bottom of the hill at the entrance, so you'll want to be sure to bring a bowl and a container to carry water, or the individual cupped containers owners often use for their dog's hydration. Trash bins are provided, which are also at the bottom of the hill at the entrance. Two paved parking spaces are provided as well as two paved handicap spaces. Otherwise parking along Skyline Blvd with caution for traffic passing closely by. One entrance with inner and outer gates provides a fairly steep two tier set of steps to access the park with handrail. A second set of inner and outer gates are on the left hand side of the park access that enters onto slightly less sloped hillside, but currently will have to climb over a fairly wide concrete drainage trough to get to a sloped gravel covered pathway into the park. There are no signs at the park to inform of the hours that the park is open, but if the Park & Rec website listing is correct, it shows 24/7. Enjoy!

First of all, this is a DOG Park... not for kids or picnics with blankets and food. not for kids to bring soccer balls or toys. not for weirdos with drones. its a DOG PARK! And a beautiful one with a gently sloping hill, lots of benches, a brand new FILTERED water fountain for dogs and human water bottle refills. Parking is a bit challenging, as the ONE parking space is for handicapped, which looks challenging in itself to get in and out of! Lots of street parking along Skyline ;) Beautifully fragrant eucalyptus trees and tons of grass for dogs to run in. Plenty of space to s-p-r-e-a-d out and socially distance. Its not quite so quiet as the fenceline juts up against Hwy 280. Nevertheless, a great, large space for your pup to fun free in a safe space! Enjoy!

    Dogs of all sizes welcome

Wow great off leash dog park! Beautiful trees, grassy hills and some benches/picnic tables for the humans! LOTS OF ROOM for dogs of all sizes to roam, love it!! Looks to be fairly new park and well taken care of. Owners pick up after their dog here. Watch your step for tree stumps and dog dug holes :). Only two marked parking spots next to the entrance and looks like others are parking along the road shoulder. Happy with this new find!

Went on a sunny Sunday afternoon around 2:00. Averaged around 5 or 6 dogs during the hour we were there. Nice open space with grass at this time of year, though a bit muddy in places with the recent rain. Nice to have a fully enclosed space of that size. A couple picnic tables and benches, good mix of shade and sun. Not really much in the way of "hiking" like with Pulgas Ridge but possible to get some exercise tromping up and down the hillside, and better than a totally flat, dirt area like Seal Point Park, plus no pee smell.

I have encountered aggressive dogs that picks on or constantly humps my dog with the owner nowhere to be found and this is me with a neutered 90pound huskymix. On most days, there's a lot of friendly and playful dogs too. While it is nice on a sunny day, the area surrounding near the AstroTurf puddles up and forms a muddy mess. I like the paved pathway around the park, although it's been covered up with tanbark during my last visit. When there are uncontrollable dogs at the park, I like to walk far away from the trouble while my puppers follow while exploring at the same time. I just wished that there more shaded areas across the dog park because it gets crowded in the small shaded area on sunny days.

I wanted to share some photos of the surface right after it rained, see attached. Despite the wet grounds, no mud, and we've been on this surface before when it's completely dry and the amount of dust created is extremely minimal to none -- both scenarios, a deep contrast to our dog park. This is the only surface (other than grass, astroturf or wood chips) that should ever be used for a dog park. I realize this is water under the bridge now, but boy do I wish our Parks Dept did a bit more research into ground cover for our park before putting in the current way-too-dusty, way-too-muddy-post-rain surface. Dog owners, occupants of the Art Center, and neighbors alike would have had, at the very least, one less thing to complain about -- and a lot more to be happy about. Alas.
