The pool operates as both short (25 yards) and long course (50 meters) depending on the day and time. If it is short course, there are about 20 lanes, but if it is long course, it is usually less lanes due to classes/ other programs being held at BAC. I've dropped into lap swim ($9) but I started to opt in for their 10 day pass which is $85 ($5 savings). I also just learned there is a monthly unlimited pass for $75 which is a great deal if you do plan to come in more than 10x a month. Check out their website for hours and if there will be less lanes due to classes. I love going during the day since you'll get a nice tan afterwards!

Since all the equipment I rely on is on the second floor, a broken elevator effectively meant no access for me. The real issue wasn't the maintenance failures -- it was how management handled them. After several days of trying to reach the club manager, I finally got him on the phone. I made a simple, reasonable request: could they notify me when the elevator was down so I wouldn't make an unnecessary trip? Without any hesitation, he told me this was a "liability" for them, cancelled my membership effective immediately, and hung up. No acknowledgment, no apology, no discussion. I understand that equipment breaks down. What I don't understand is treating a paying member's accessibility concern as something to be discarded rather than addressed. I'll let you draw your own conclusions -- I just wanted to make sure this experience was on the record.

Aqua Blue Pools re-plastered (NPT StoneScapes "Tropics Blue" - Collection: Small Puerto Rico Blend)…read moreand re-tiled our pool recently, and did a fabulous job. They worked efficiently and minimized the mess associated with such extensive concrete/plaster removal, cleaning up the deck area and existing hardscape daily. Pool rust issues, which proved to be more extensive than appeared when the job was bid, were mitigated thoroughly with no additional charges. It initially appeared that there were two rust areas but four were uncovered as plaster removal proceeded. Ernesto Vega, project manager, was really great to work with and quickly responded to our concerns as they arose (phone or text to him works fastest!). Aqua Blue Pools were very competitive with the other four bids we received, although a big factor in selecting them was that they had just completed our neighbor's pool and they are really happy with the results (pool looks beautiful). The whole job took only 2 1/2 weeks even though work stopped 4 days for the Thanksgiving holiday. We are only three days into the startup process to establish the correct water chemistry and the pool, which looked great once Aqua Blue finished the job, is looking even better each day as the water color becomes more correct. BTW, be aware that the water out of the tap looks really odd when first added to the pool, like green swamp water in our location, until the chemical startup is complete (about one or two weeks) and the water chemistry is correct.

We thought this idea would be difficult to execute because it would need engineering, electrical work, plumbing, lighting, plants, boulders, and a beautiful design. We contacted Jorge and explained what we wanted and after a consultation of about an hour at our home, he said he would think about it and give us a proposal. We were amazed at the conceptual design that he had and that he had diagrammed, overwhelmed by his attention to detail in the bid, and incredulous that he and his crew brought it flawlessly to fruition. The job took about 4 week and the transformation is incredible. We have had neighbors tell us that it is not only a thing of beauty but is a calming influence with the sound of the rushing water. One neighbor puts his chair at the bottom of the waterfall and meditates for long periods of time. We love the sound of the rushing water and keep our front door and windows open to hear it through the day and evening.
