One of my tenants called me on a Saturday to let me know that the power to her apartment hadn't come back on after a neighborhood power outage ended. I called Skyline based on the Yelp reviews that I read and these guys did not disappoint. They were able to go to the apartment and determine that no extensive work was required, just a couple of fuses needed to be cleaned. As an out of town landlord, I would have had to trust whatever they had said. Their honesty and quick response on a weekend has made Skyline my new go to people for any future electrical work. read more

Skyline Electric is amazing! Jeanette replied promptly after I reached out to her and was kind, courteous, and helpful throughout my interactions with her. She answered all of my questions and gave us an accurate estimate of how much time it would take the electricians to install a new junction box and our 176 lb chandelier. The morning of the install, Ken, the supervisor, came along with Alex and Tomasz, our electricians, to go over our project with them and see if we had any questions before leaving Alex and Tomasz to complete the work. All three were very nice and professional. Alex and Tomasz worked diligently to complete our project while checking in with us along the way to make sure they got everything just the way we wanted. They were also very careful with our chandelier while being extremely efficient at the same time. Most importantly, we are incredibly happy with the work they did--the chandelier looks incredible! Thank you, Skyline, for making our experience so wonderful! We'll definitely use you again for any future electrical needs. read more

When I was moving into my new condo I needed unique lighting. No electrical can be run in the ceiling due to radiant heating. I went to several stores and the options were the traditional ones with wires running up the walls. I called a few electricians to line them up for when I knew what lighting options I wanted, but most of them were kind of negative or overwhelmed and didn't seem to want to take a job like this that required creativity. When I got Kent through a referral he said "let me come over with my box of tricks and we'll figure something out." It was awesome. Someone who wanted to collaborate with me on a creative solution. And we did just that. Ultimately I ended up with exactly the lighting solution I wanted. Kent had installed this type of lighting many times, but not the way I needed it done. It was complicated, but ultimately he created something that is fantastic and flexible. It's sleek and clean. And when the job started to go longer than expected, Kent did little random jobs, like bringing me a light he had in his shop and installing a light in my closet, installing a light in my bathroom, and when I had an electrical problem due to water, he fixed it. You never know when you're going to need an electrician, so that was great. Last night at 10pm my power went out. I texted Kent and he arrived this morning first thing, and fixed the issue. I can't say enough about Kent and Skykine. read more

We've had Kent and his crew come over twice to our house, and I can't say enough great things about their service. Class act! If you're looking for an honest, reliable electrician, look no further. His wife Jeanette handles the customer intake and is highly responsive and accommodating. I wish that all tradespeople are as great as Kent and his team are. read more

I contacted SkyLine Electric on behalf of my condo association a couple of times earlier this year. I've worked with quite a few contractors over the years and can honestly say that I've never had such a positive experience before. Everyone that I spoke with and/or met from the Skyline team was extremely professional and responsive. They're straight shooters and demonstrate the highest integrity in their work. I appreciate working with a team that's truly vested in delivering top notch service to their customers. read more

Yesterday I had my first experience with Skyline Electric. I called the day before after having a mishap during a remodel when our floor installer accidentally cut through conduit and severed the electrical line. They sent two electricians who fixed the problem in an hour and one half. Tom and Nic were efficient, knowledgeable and reasonable priced. They were careful and even cleaned up the debris after they finished. Since this was a condo I needed proof of liability insurance and an electrical license before the work began. The office was able to provide this. I am very happy and relieved to have found a reliable electrician in the Gold Coast in Chicago that knows what they are doing, is licensed and does not overcharge. read more

We had a short circuit in the conduit that tripped the breaker constantly. The only way to diagnose the problem was to pull new wire via the existing conduit. Aldo was excellent. He can think and figure out a problem quickly. His attention to detail is also great. He is experienced and it shows. He is able to look in a junction box and know where the wires are coming from and going to. All in all the job took over 4 hours. The lights are back on. They are courteous, the initial estimate was quite accurate, the knowledge was good, and they were there on time. I would hire again. read more

Wow!! Since buying my vintage home in Andersonville we have had one issue after another. People are scared to do work in our home because they are not experienced in working with older homes. Not only was Kent extremely knowledgeable, he was very personable. I felt completely comfortable and trusted his expertise. No surprise or hidden costs. By and far one of the best experiences yet with creating our dream home. Thanks Skyline, and thanks Kent!! read more

Absolutely loved their service. They were quick to answer phone calls and emails. They had best pricing to installed outlet for my Tesla. Scheduled service with ease and they came on time and quick install. No issues and after a year, still works wonderful. read more

I feel the need to add to my previous review, because Kent is a TRUE professional. We had an issue with one of our fixtures and Kent took the time on a SUNDAY to rush over and ensure everything was ok. He identified the problem and was willing to help in any way he could. I can not recommend Skyline enough. Found my one and only electrician. HIGHLY RECCOMEND. Kent did excellent work hanging chandeliers in my condo downtown. Very professional and made sure everything was completed to PERFECTION. Always very responsive and made himself available to accommodate our schedule. Will definitely be using him again. read more

This was an excellent experience. Not only did Kent fix the issue with our electric box that I called him for but also took a look and fixed an issue we had with a bathroom light fixture that I mentioned to him while he was here at no extra cost. He clearly takes a lot of pride in his work and wants to make sure that he leaves you with everything working well and with peace of mind. He was also really great finding a time that really worked for me, and staying in touch via text. Honestly the best experience I've had while moving into and setting up our new house. read more

Really enjoyed working with Skyline Electric from the initial phone call to the final outcome. The staff was very helpful when I was looking for a quote for 2 projects and made a great effort to fit us in quickly. The final outcome was exactly what we were looking for! The under cabinet lighting is just beautiful and makes our kitchen look so much brighter! Would highly recommend them for any electrical needs in your home. read more

I recently purchased my first home and had some light electrical work done to wire and mount a tv in my living room. This was my first home improvement project, and both employees were excellent at communicating what they were about to do and asked how I wanted the work done. They left my home in great condition and completed the work within the time/cost I was originally quoted. Would definitely recommend. read more

Skyline (Kent) provided nothing but the best in terms of service. I had used another provider for a similar work request before and Kent completed the same work order in about one third of the time and was far superior. His expertise really showed through in dealing with the specifics of my electrical wiring in an apt. in a high rise in River North. He has been doing this for a long time and truly understands what he is doing. I thank him for making my life painless for what I view as a generally painful undertaking in which I know very little about. read more

My experience with Skyline Electric was great. Jeanette does a great job talking through your job, asking important questions, and keeping you informed leading up to the date of the work. I had pendant lights and 2 ceiling fans installed into a lofted condo with a concrete ceiling. On the day of installation, Kent and his team showed up on time. They included me in the decision making process every step of the way to make sure I would be happy with the outcome. read more

These guys are amazing! I can't say more about how great of a job they did. Kent took the project head on after another Electrican said the project was not possible. His team of Ollie , alex and Tom were terrific. Ollie was the MVP of the job and was able to get under the house to install a new 50 amp line. These guys also helped get my hottub over the wall when the delivery guys needed an extra hand. Kent did a great job hooking up the hot tub and by the end of the second day everything was good to go. Tom was the main point man on the job and really worked his tail off to make everything work. Jeanette did an amazing job coordinating everything from the first quote to scheduling the job. Overall I'm super happy and pleased, I don't often leave reviews but these guys deserve it. Kent is the best in the business and I look forward to using his team again on future projects. read more

Skyline Electric - Hotub installation and outdoor outlets. - Electricians Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

Kent is the only electrician you'll ever need. Not to mention that he is practically available any time (weekend or nighttime, it really does not matter). Arrived exactly when he said he will and did the job in 15min! Even cleaned after himself. I would give him 10 stars if that was possible. read more

Yet another 5-star review for Kent! I'd been saving up a bunch of little and big-ish electrical jobs in my house for a while and finally decided to bite the bullet. I hired Kent based on the yelp reviews and was NOT disappointed. He and Jeannette (his scheduler) were SO attentive and communicative with me from the get-go. He was slammed with some huge emergency kind of jobs for bigger clients, but he and Jeannette made sure to schedule time for my non-emergency stuff, and even offered to come to my place on an evening or weekend for no extra charge. He really considers every job equally important. His pricing was very competitive, and my jobs (from switching out some hanging lamps, putting in a new halogen bulb, to bigger jobs like bringing an electrical outlet to my outdoor deck) were not going to make him a millionaire, but he treated me like they would. He's a perfectionist and wouldn't allow my lamp to hang from the ceiling any way but the exact length and direction I wanted. Plus he's so much fun to work with. He's hilarious, down to earth, and has stories that will blow your mind. At the same time, he's extremely professional, knowledgable and meticulous about his work. He comes from a long line of electricians in his family and takes his work and your safety very seriously. And i haven't even mentioned Bob yet. Bob came with Kent the second time out, and he was just as warm, friendly and professional as Kent. My house presented loads of century-old challenges to them, but they did NOT charge me extra for the extra work. They stayed true to their quote. I love these guys and feel like I have electricians in the family now. I'll definitely be calling Kent for my next job. read more

Great communication, fast and accurate service. The first 30 minutes are $125 and then they charge an hourly rate, I think about $85.

I've hired Skyline for several jobs and could not be more pleased with their service. They initially replaced a very old electrical panel with a new modern circuit breaker system. And recently, they came out on short notice to re-wire the power source to my AC unit to get it to work. Kent is an awesome guy who does great work and is 100% honest and fair. I would recommend them to anyone looking to get any sort of electrical work completed. read more

Great experience with Skyline Electric. Kent is a skilled electrician and takes great pride in his work. He ensured I was 100% satisfied with the work. Highly recommend them! read more

Kent is a straight shooting electrician. He'll tell you exactly what he can and can't do and he provides it at a very fair price. The work that he did at my condo was wiring for a new electric stove. Him and his other employee showed up timely and completed the work very quickly while maintaining high standards of quality. I would highly recommend them to anyone in the Chicagoland area. read more

Kent sent Tomasz over to install a new receiver in a ceiling fan so that it would work with the remote. It wasn't an easy job because the fan had to be disassembled in order for the new receiver to be put in. Tomasz knew what he was doing. We were very impressed. We have a new electrician! A company willing to do little jobs. We had to wait awhile to get an appointment. That just shows how busy and popular they are. read more

I'm glad I met Kent. He's not your typical contractor/ electrician. He's there to help and not gouge on pricing. I was having garage opener issues and Kent agreed to come by and check the power to my garage. He came out on a Sunday too. Now that's service! Kent worked through testing the wiring and told some great stories. Bottom line: great experience. I will hire him exclusively for all things electrical and will recommend him to all friends. You will not be disappointed. read more

I'm so glad that I called Skyline Electric. I had been having a problem with my track light fixture as the lightbulbs that I put in would never stay lit. I reached out to Skyline and they were really fast and responsive. Two days later they came out and fixed it quickly. The service was fast and friendly. I would call them for any other electrical needs I have. Easy breezy! read more

Kent with Skyline Electric was fast and professional. He was able to come out to our home the same afternoon we called and solved our electrical issue quickly for much less than we expected. I highly recommend Skyline Electric! read more

It supposedly take 15 minutes to install a simple light fixtures but they play there for 3 hours and act like taking the light fixture back on and off. They move slow like turtle and kill time to earn money. If you ever like to have fun with them like that and waste your money like this, go for it. read more

Kent was amazing! He arrived and in only a few minutes he had diagnosed the problem and given us an estimate. He was super professional and polite and personable -- he even asked permission to answer his phone when it rang! He fixed everything in about half an hour, and the work was very reasonably priced. I found this company after reading several favorable reviews on Yelp, but was skeptical, because I thought, "How could they all be positive?" But now I know why! I was very impressed with this company after several electricians from other companies were extremely unprofessional and unable to fix the problem! Nice to finally have someone who knows what he is doing! Highly recommend this company! read more

From start to finish, every time I have called and used Skyline the service I have received has been absolutely five-star. Jeannette, who you will speak to if you call, is the nicest, most accommodating business owner I've ever had the pleasure of doing business with. As a single woman, have felt really jived by plumbers and other home services providers. Not the case at all with Skyline. Professional, sincere, easy to work with. Would never call anyone else. read more

I used Skyline Electric to do a full days worth of work on my condo in the city, basically fixing everything the inspector had found when we were closing on the condo. Kent and Aldo were fantastic, completed the entire list, priced fairly, and gave advice throughout on the best way to do this or that, so it was both safe and cost effective. They were able to adjust on the fly as I added things to "the list" as I identified them, and I couldn't be more satisfied with the final product. read more

Easy to schedule an appointment, appreciated being able to communicate through text instead of playing phone tag. In addition to helping with my lights he gave me advice on better light bulbs to use next time I need replacements. Worked quickly and efficiently. Thanks! read more

Very helpful. I'm out of town and they replaced a light fixture in my kitchen and were very easy to work with. Good communicators.

So I was having a washer/dryer delivered and when the delivery people arrived they told me I could not have it put in since my previous washer/dryer was hardwired and they said I needed to have someone come install a new outlet. I looked around for an electrician to get some quotes and Jeannette who runs the office was extremely responsive and helpful with what I needed to do in order to make sure the job was able to be done correctly. (No other company even got back to me) I was not expecting them to be able to get here same day, but within a couple of hours from when I initially reached out Kent (the supervising electrician) was on his way over and did an amazing/fast/clean job. I will now never need to look for another electrician as Skyline has my business for the next couple of projects that need to get done. If you want the best work and pricing give Skyline a call as you will be very satisfied! read more

Skyline Electric had excellent customer service! From the person who answered the phone to the electrician who came out to help, everyone was very friendly and personable. My appointment was scheduled for Saturday morning and they promptly arrived and barely charged me for a minor switch problem. I had an emergency on a Sunday, with power going out. Kent came out and tracked it down and took care of it. Kent and his team are incredible. We had such a terrible experience with other electrician's estimates and Kent responded quickly, professionally, and perfectly blunt. I had Skyline Electric come install a Common wire on my Nest thermostat, which involved moving my washer/dryer in a cramped closet. Alex handled everything with care - wore a face mask, took shoes off before entering, wiped down surfaces and swept after the job was done and the thermostat is working perfectly. Would definitely hire again for any future work. read more

Called them up at 8:00pm on a Friday with an issue one of my tenants was having. Kenton told me that they don't like taking people's money for things they can easily to themselves. He walked me through what to do. It worked. I informed the tenant that they are an idiot. Integrity and fair dealing are the name of the game when it comes to contractors. I would give these guys a try. read more
