Needed a pitstop, and this worked. Early enough that not much fast food was open, and I was not going to Waffle House. Didn't know Skyline even had breakfast. Perused their small breakfast menu and passed on a chili burrito at 10am, but they have the whole menu so I got a small tenders meal. Two not-big tenders (the menu pic must show the large) and some fries. Tenders were good: tender (hah!) inside, crispy and nicely seasoned outside. The fries were pretty good too. Had a Dr. Pepper lime coconut dirty soda, and Kid K just got a strawberry dirty soda and they were nice enough to add coconut (her favorite) to hers. She really liked it. Mine was fine. Service was great. Tenders were made right then. Place was clean and not busy on a Friday morning. Somewhat tucked away off the highway on a dead-end service road. A little pricey for what we got. The cheese Coney was good I did light mustard no onion and I also did the chicken chili so I got a little bit more protein would be nice if I could somehow add the cheese Coney to my fitness app but with the chicken chili maybe one day. We've been eating Skyline since the 1970s. Our family loves it. Today, it was inedible. The coneys were soggy and falling apart. The chili had the consistency of water and almost no flavor at all. The adults couldn't finish their meals. The kids took one taste and stopped. We brought this up to our server. Her response? "I'm so sorry. Here's your bill." We walked to the register and complained. She kept giggling. When we insisted that we were not joking she said "Oh! So sorry about that. That will be $47" I was shocked we had to pay for food we couldn't eat. But the employee said "Sorry, I can't take anything off of your bill." This place used to be great. Who doesn't love a three-way (not the kind in college or in the Navy)! The 3-way regular is a nice choice for me. No onions so I do t contribute to global warming or the breakdown of the ozone. If you haven't tried a Skyline Chili your missing out. Headquarters in Cincinnati, I have seen them in Louisville KY and Indianapolis too. Try a Coney with cheese too. It has been two years since my review below, and I can happily say that this Skyline has improved enough since then that we eat here at least once per month. Therefore, I increased my rating from 2 to 4 stars. Original Review on 8/3/16: (2 Stars) This particular Skyline continues to be significantly below the quality of other Skylines. The most annoying thing is the stale buns for the coneys. We had carryout twice I. The past two days, we have had 8 total coneys and everyone one had a stale bun. The 3-Ways are good and the Chilito was ok - but a bit light on chili. The frustration thing is we live only 5 minutes from this Skyline, and we love Skyline, but this location rarely fails to disappoint. Perhaps I was spoiled by growing up near the Kenwood Skyline and working in the past near the Hebron Skyline, but how difficult can it be to make sure you don't serve stale buns - especially when you touch each and every bin to make a coney.
