Want to start by saying we have been eating at skyline restaurants for 25+ years and have always loved it. Tonight my husband and I ordered 2 Regular 3 ways with extra cheese. We had to ask our server if they gave us a small instead of a Regular because the portion was so small. There was very little cheese as well and when we added the extra cheese it still looked skimpy. Needless to say we left there hungry!!! Never has that happened in all the years. Probably will not go back to this location seems like this location is skimping on their portions! Since when did ordering a black bean burrito mean that it's spicy? My friend went to the east Washington location to pick up takeout for us and he brought home my black bean burrito and it's spicy! There is nothing in the description that led me to believe that this was going to be spicy at all! Very disappointed because I don't do spicy well at all! This location is smaller than the other two I've been to in the Indy Metro area. The Greenwood location is a standalone building and the 82nd St is larger. Here it is in a very long shopping center with a lot of top brand retail stores. There are only four locations in all of Indy; all east or NE or SSE of downtown. There is definitely room for expansion, hint, hint. The dining room tables and lunch counter were clean and ready for occupancy. Service was fast, from taking my order, to bringing my food, to dropping off the check, to giving me a "go" cup, to cashing me out. I ordered my usual 4-way with onions and was not disappointed. The food was good; exactly as expected. It is always a pleasure to eat lunch at Skyline. I wish there were more locations, hint, hint. The restrooms were very nice. Nice and clean and new! There is so much available parking that I can't imagine the huge shared parking lot ever filling up even at Christmas time. read more

Love this place. Having lived in the Cincinnati area for a few years, I am so glad that Indy has a couple of these. My daughter came home from college in Bloomington and this is where she picked. Skyline has been in my family since I was a baby. Mom's side was from Cincinnati so trips there started with a meet at Skyline. Love the new location of this one. New and updated building. I have never had bad Skyline chili. Always the same at everyone I have eaten. I have been to many locations all over Indiana and Ohio. Most people go for the 3-4-5 ways but me, a Skyline all Chili deluxe burrito and a cheese coney to top it off. The burritos are where it is at. It is a seat yourself place but if you are able it is always nice to grab a seat at the bar. Cool experience to watch them make your supper and service is always super quick. read more

This was our first visit to Skyline Chili. We had BOGO coupons for the chili and for coney dogs so we came. The waitress was very friendly and patient with us. She brought our drinks right away. Our food came quickly and was fresh and hot. It tasted very good. The hot dogs are very small. I asked for ketchup and never got it so the score went down. I paid 30 cents extra for onion on my chili and literally counted 5 teeny tiny pieces of onion. That was laughable. There went another point in my book because that made it their 4 way chili instead of 3 way chili. Now that's funny! We each had a Diet Dr. Pepper and without the coupons our bill would have been $21.00 and some cents. Too much for what we had. With coupons it was $14.00. We did receive drinks to go which was super nice. Without coupons I would not return. read more

This is a short review. Not much to talk about.... So i was in Indiana over the weekend and my brother was raving about this place. Not knowing what it was about, i just assumed it was a basic chili place from the name. Hmm, walking in its a little grimy, but hey if you only knew whats been in this mouth haha. It has become sort of a tradition, two times, for us to stop on the way home from finishing our marathon on our way back to Chicago. I have run two marathons now, Columbus and Cincinnati, and for both we stopped in the Indianapolis area for some Skyline Chili. Skyline might not be the best choice post 26.2 miles but it is a must anytime I am able to go to one. This location was very slow and is located in a very old strip mall. The main signs for the lot still had a Service Merchandise sign and a Chinese Buffet for $3.95. Neither of those things exist in today's reality. Service was a little slow considering we were one party of maybe three total that were there. The bathroom was serviceable and the staff was helpful. They actually knew we had run the marathon. One reason is because the Flying Pig is a popular marathon in the surrounding area and the other is because we were moving like Lebron James when he is cramping up in the NBA Finals. read more

I always have enjoyed my visits to this location while traveling from Chicago to Cincinnati or visa versa. They tend to make them extra wet in Indy and you can even request them to be sloppy. Only drawback sometimes their pasta is stuck together. This is definitely the most convenient location with access to the highway. This place is iconic, and one of only a few surviving restaurants in a lone East Side strip mall just off 465 and East Washington Street. The chili is fine, they offer a mountain of faux cheddar, and it has stayed in business since I was a twinkle in my father's eye. I was there with my brother tonight, and we remarked how when we were young this was a staple. That said, it hasn't aged perfectly, but for a few bucks and those interested in what fast food chili amounts to in Cincy, give it a go... maybe just once. read more

The place is in a near empty strip mall right next to 465. I got there around 5pm. The place wasn't crowded and pretty quiet for the most part. Got a nice hello from the waitress as I sat down at the counter. The cook seemed like a fun guy because he would joke around with his coworkers. It's nice to be at a place where employees enjoy what they're doing or at least look like it. The place was clean and had a friendly diner feel to it. I also liked their old TVs. I never had spaghetti with chili so I ordered the 4-way and a side of fries. Overall, my experience at Skyline Chili was pretty good. The food was tasty and didn't cost too much. If you never been to any Skyline Chili ask for a sample of the sauce before you order. Some people love it. Some people hate it. It is up to your taste buds to decide. But one thing. Don't order without knowing the taste then expect a full refund. That is not fair to the store. I go there twice a week. A little on the expensive side for what you get. I'm not 100% certain, but I would guess this location is the furthest from Cincinnati and closest to Chicago. If you have spent any time in Cincy you know what Skyline chili is all about. If not, the other reviews cover it pretty well (props to Brandon P.) Found this location via Apple Maps on our way home from Cincinnati--where, yes, I know, is the hometown of Skyline--and we stopped for lunch. I can't get enough of Skyline, but since we don't live in Florida any more or in Michigan any more (Skyline closed the Lansing location shortly after we left town), it's rare I get the "real deal." There's chili in cans & frozen chili + spaghetti...and it's good...but not as good as getting the real thing at a restaurant. So after having lunch at the Glenway Skyline a few days earlier, I *had* to make one more stop as we headed home. This Skyline was as expected; food was great. Our waitress seemed new & nervous, but she did great. Portions were heaping as usual. She was kind to my young son. The only reason I'm knocking off one star from this review is the restrooms. The men's room left a LOT to be desired. It wasn't super-clean. We used the restroom but not by choice. The ladies room, according to my way-better half, was no better. There the toilet paper holder was broken & and the arm of an old dining room chair was being used as a "TP Dispenser" instead. ?????????? Otherwise, the restaurant was solid. I sure wish there was a Skyline closer to my home. But trips out toward Indy/Cinci make stopping for treats like this that much better I suppose. read more

The first time you try Skyline Chili it taste a little deferent from most other chili at other places unless you grew up in Cincinnati. But after a while you will come to love it. because it's different. And you don't have to drive to Cincinnati like Dad had to. read more
