We told her we were first timers. She went over the menu, the specials, etc. so super sweet! I ordered my burger lettuce wrapped. Y'all, seriously, it was the BEST burger I have EVER had. Cooked to perfection. Warm. Juicy. My hubby and SIL had burgers as well and both said the same! The place is super cute, a little small, but cozy!! Nice little bar up front and tables in the back. I know it's a drive for me, but this NOW my burger place. Listen, we need small businesses like Nexie's!! These are the folks that make our communities strong!! Kudos to Nexie's! Everyone needs to stop in, say hi, and have the best burger around!!

The first visit, my order was late being ready by 15 minutes, and when we arrived home we realized we had paid for a footlong and received only a 6' sub. The second time, the incompetent teen girl working there informed me that they didn't have my order ready because "it never came in/was lost". I showed her the email with my order. When I asked her if she could make the sandwiches right then instead, she hesitated and tried to talk me out of it. I was made to feel as though they wanted me to leave so they wouldn't have to deal with my order. There were 2 teenaged girls working and they were complaining about being busy, so I think they simply did not want to make my order and decided to tell me it got lost. Eventually, she agreed to make the 5 sandwiches I had ordered earlier in the day. With the new "SubClub" promotion, I was supposed to receive a free 12" sub. When she rang up my order, she said you cannot use SubClub points in person, so I had to pay for the sub. I will never visit this location again. Even when we have received our subs on other occasions, they're usually very sloppily made and a mess to eat. Horrible customer service.

The burger is now thicker patties which is not bad a little more greasy then the big boy that this area is used to. The sandwich comes with fries which is a plus. The food is not bad depending on what you get. Anywhere you go pricing will be increased and for the size of the burger I think it is fair. The restaurant ambiance is peaceful and nicely put together.

The Signature Burger (Big Boy) was burnt and had WAY too much tartare sauce to where it was falling apart. Up charge for the waffle fries and onion rings which is fine if they are good. This is the kind of smalltown restaurant that defines what it means to serve "down home" cooking. This isn't fancy. It's just plain good. While I'm typically more of a burger guy, when I go to a down-home place like Have-A-Bite it's fried chicken I'm looking for and it sure doesn't disappoint here. Yelper Rick G. was a big fan of the tenderloin. As a tenderloin blogger, I trust his opinions there. The basics? Accessibility is surprisingly solid - Metamora can be really hit-and-miss (it's an older, folksy town with the main claim to fame being the Whitewater Canal State Historic Site and an emphasis on old-timey music and antique shops. The front entrance is workable - there's a slight lip at the door. The dining room itself is pretty well laid out and I had no problems. I didn't try the restroom. There's sandwiches here, traditional diner fare, fish/shrimp, appetizers, several dessert options, and more. The fried chicken had it going on. The mashed potatoes were inspired. The people were friendly. Is this the best meal I've ever had? Nah, but it's delicious and definitely a shining jewel in this small town and one of the best options for those who need wheelchair accessibility. I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area.
