I stopped in for the first time for lunch & was looking forward to eating an authentic Chicago dog. The place was empty but it was very clean. I ordered the Chicago Dog ($5) at the counter & it was ready in about 5 minutes. An authentic Chicago dog is an all-beef frankfurter on a poppy seed bun topped with yellow mustard, chopped white onions, bright green sweet pickle relish, a dill pickle spear, tomato slices or wedges and pickled sport peppers. First of all, my hot dog had too much mustard. I could barely taste anything else. The hot dog did not pop when I bit into it & was squishy which signals poor quality. No poppy seed bun. For $5.00, I expected an authentic Chicago dog. Disappointing! I probably won't return because I expect a quality hot dog when I pay top dollar. read more
