This is by far the worst Subway I have ever been to. I'm a pretty big fan of Subway. Not my…read morefavorite sandwich shop, but I do enjoy their subs when done right. There are so many things wrong with this place, I don't even know where to start. I guess I should have known better, since it's, you know, in Walmart. But I figured it could exist as its own separate entity and it wouldn't necessary be bad just because it was in Walmart. Well, I've been here twice and both times I was unsatisfied with my sub. The second time was worse than the first. I'm a vegetarian, so obviously I always go for the veggie sub. One thing I've always liked about Subway is that whenever I go there and order a veggie sub, the person making my sandwich typically changes his or her gloves. This makes me feel good, because I don't like dirty, meaty gloves touching the items that make up my sandwich. Don't ask me why, it just irks me. But I think it's pretty reasonable to expect someone to change their gloves. Maybe that's just me. Anyway, at this location, I ordered a veggie sandwich as usual, on Italian herb and cheese bread. Like the first time I went here, they only had Swiss, provolone, and one other type of cheese (I think American), so I couldn't get cheddar, my usual cheese. That's okay, because I like provolone and Swiss too. Before making my sandwich, I watched as the girl made three other sandwiches and handled three different types of meat. She didn't even hesitate before grabbing my bread, wrapping her meaty fingers around it as she sliced it open. Disgusting. This put me off from the start, obviously. Even so, I tried to enjoy my sandwich. I ordered it with sweet onion sauce, and there was way too much in it. It was basically drenched with sauce so I could hardly taste anything but sweet onion. I don't mind sweet onion, but I would really have liked to have been able to taste the lettuce, tomatoes, and olives too. The bread seemed a bit off, as well, but maybe that was just me. It's too bad there aren't any other Subways nearby, because I won't be returning to this one.

Currently being tied up so to speak and with a great deal of time on hand for the moment, I figured…read moreI would publish my findings. I work next door to this subway, but my findings in no way reflect this single subway but in fact all subways. I have what many would consider a pretty strong stomach. This jared thinks subway could be a great diet. Being that it's a colon cleanse every time. Being a somewhat classy fellow, I'll let your imagination come to the conclusion I'm somewhat subtly painting. I'm indisposed as I mentioned. Basically, in findings and with my wife having been a manager at another subway sandwich shop, I can say pretty confidently through my extensive research and testing that every trip to subway may be your last. Sure, besides their excuse for chicken (no kids, that's not real chicken at all) subway tastes okay. Not bad for 5 bucks. But subway has a way of cleansing your colon so effectively I dare say I could get an MRI right now and the technician would believe I fasted for 24 hours. Clean as a whistle now. It's been 1 hour since I've eaten my spicy Italian footlong and it has done the trick like clockwork. Sure, it's cheap. But there's a reason it's cheap. These are the same people who freshly baked shoe rubber and high fructose corn syrup into their bread. And when people found out, promptly "improved their recipe". In addition to the extensive years of "taste testing", my wife (my sister also was full time at subway for awhile) both told me the not-so-sanitary practices of subway. We are talking days old chafing dish cold cuts to cut food loss costs...to start with. Old veggies, pre-frozen huge bags of "chicken" and "steak" that are just not at all chicken or steak. Please, do humanity and your rectum a favor and stop eating at subway. Maybe they will rethink their formula. Wah-wah are gas station subs made just the same way as subway but with higher quality ingredients. Never have I had this issue. Nor have I at any sub shop in the salem area or any area for that matter. Pay the extra 2 bucks. If you don't believe me, Google "rectal prolapse". (Image search is only for the faint of heart / two girls one cup fans) Sincerely, Jared Ps the owner of salem subway is a very nice man and his employees are honestly awesome people. Please, choose a better franchise in which to be affiliates.

They offer Greek style pizzas, pizza calzones, salads, hot & cold subs, shawarma wraps, clubs, gyros, pasta, wings, chicken fingers, steak tips, fried foods, Coke products in the cooler and Lays bagged chips. The prices here seem fair. The place is casual and order at the counter and there are a few hard seat booths. After seeing postings of social media, I decided to stop in at Crown Castle Pizzeria for takeout. I ordered a Large Cheese Pizza ($10.99 plus tax-Monday special) and a Spaghetti & Sausage Dinner ($13.99 plus tax) with garlic bread. The food was prepared to order and all set to go in about 15 minutes. The pasta entrée & garlic bread (in foil) were placed in a plastic bag and tied sealed. Upon arriving home, there was red pasta water all over the bag, but no mess in my vehicle since they wisely sealed the pasta for travel. The cheese pizza was pretty good which had the right amount of red sauce & melted cheese on top of a firm Greek style crust with rolled firm edge crust. The pasta was packed in a foil container with only foil on top, which was probably why there was pasta water in the bag. Anyways, the spaghetti was very soft (a bit overcooked) with a standard marinara sauce, sliced sausages and melted cheese, but still tasted pretty good. The baked garlic bread (sub roll slices) was buttery. Overall, I would come back here to try some of their other offerings like the baked & fried haddock dinners, ziti alfredo, and shawarma.

We immediately felt at home, welcomed and comfortable. I was passed by a delicious looking Bloody, and realized the second piece of the puzzle was here - a liquor license! Don't get me wrong, it's not NEEDED, but man oh man do they taste amazing. Right off the bat I settled in. We have a long standing tradition - try all the meats. There's been more than a handful of times we were put at a "normal" two seat table - and had to get a second one dragged over to help with all the food ‍ My wife usually gets some form of Benedict - she's a "light hollandaise" gal and can never seem to get that so she always gets it on the side. She cleaned her plate off and loved everything she had. We are dying to go back soon - from one super foodie (with a minor in Sunday brunch spots to go to in the area) to others, you won't be disappointed.
