One thing I hate is bad customer service, usually I just let it slide but the outcome of it really bothered me considering how much revenue Sky Foods make. I don't come here often since I live in Brooklyn and the travel is far. I came here to see if I can exchange a clay pot (bo jai fan) that I bought from here about two weeks ago. Clay pot is an iffy product; you can't tell whether it's cracked till you actually use it on heat. And when I did test it out a week after I bought it, it leaked water due to a HUGE visible crack that appeared on the inside of the pot meaning the product was crappy.
As far as I know, when you buy a clay pot and it leaks water, it is honored for an exchange. I understand if a refund cannot be made but really, no exchange cuz it says on the receipt 7 days refund/exchange? I didn't plan on using the product right after I bought it and I'm not going to travel all the way from BK just to exchange a clay pot. This is not my first time buying a clay pot, prior experience it cracked after several use. But I mean cmon, I didn't even get to use this thing once. I mean, is it my fault it cracked? I understand if I was the one who damaged it but there was huge crack on the inside of the pot therefore it was just made poorly.
So two weeks after I bought the clay pot I tried to go for an exchange, I asked the register lady and she kept telling me its burned on the bottom, no shit its burned, I had to use it over heat. So she called whoever is in charge that day over, aka this dude named "Jimmy." So I explained to Jimmy what happened and his response was "you should have called to let us know so we have an idea and can help you." HELLO DUDE, was I supposed to know that? What differ does it make if I call in advance? Would you have honored it? NO. That bs response made me laugh. As with other places they just exchange it on the spot w.o asking. Considering how big this supermarket is, and that they prob have insurance on these pots, he rejected the exchange bcuz "I did not call in advance." Oh, and he also said something along the lines of if I honored you this time, what about other people who comes doing the same thing. Excuse me, but you guys must be selling lots of shit products that break before usage and that everyone who buys them will end up going for an exchange. LOL. Mind you, I paid $8+ for this clay pot that I didn't even get to use once.
Btw, the stuff they have on sale was expired, for example the soymilk they have on sale for $.99 this weekend, I guess that's why it's "discounted." Maybe they trying to give food poison to their customers? Better check the expiration before you buy cuz im sure half the stuff they sell is prob expired or will in a couple of months. I advise customers not to buy any of their pots/pans, cuz it's a shit product and when it cracks/break due to manufacture problems you just put money down the drain since that place does not acknowledge customers at all. All they care about is profit even though they prob make like $$$$$ on a daily basis.
Lastly, they are so cheap that register ladies stuff like 10 different groceries/products into one bag, regardless if it's heavy and can rip. How much can bags possibly cost? Lol read more
