This is a typical Chinese supermarket--usually crowded and limited of space to move around. My family love coming here for grocery because it is affordable and has good selection. However, I don't like their service they provide. I understand some may have limited English proficiency. Communication can be frustrating. Cashiers are not friendly even when you speak to them in Chinese. Some don't replied which is annoying. That happened to us the other day when we asked for a bag and the lady just simply ignored us. We went to another lady and did the same thing even though we spoke in Chinese. Overall, it is okay store but don't expect much in terms of customer service. read more

Many moons ago, this location was a Modell's before US 1 Supermarket took over. The weather was in the high 40s, and it was just a short walk from my bus stop. US 1 Supermarket has two entrances: one on Main Street and another on Roosevelt Avenue. The supermarket wasn't very crowded when I went grocery shopping this Christmas morning. I bought the following items: BlueRiver Premium White Shrimp - $13.99 Bibigo Mandu Chicken & Vegetable Dumplings - $8.99 String Beans - $1.69/lb I ended up not buying my favorite Shaomei (小美) ice cream. I was so happy to see this new Asian grocery store on Main Street and Roosevelt Avenue! Their grand opening was just this past weekend. They took over a couple of stores, one of which was the old Models. I love this location, so very convenient. Unfortunately, it's also has one of the highest foot traffic. I visited on a Monday afternoon right before lunch time and the place was packed. I quickly walked through the store because I was curious but I honestly didn't feel safe inside. There was way too many people. No social distancing, no temperature check at the entrance and huge lines. On the plus side, the place is huge! And prices seem to be on low end for fruits and veggies. The registers by the Main Street entrance was packed. But the registers by the Roosevelt entrance was practically empty. I think most people didn't realize there were two entrances. I'm glad to see new businesses pop up during this time. The economy certainly needs it. I'll most likely wait though, to come back here once things come down a bit. I want to peruse the aisles when it's not so packed. read more

The supermarket that replaced Model's. Its not the largest supermarket nor the smallest hole in the wall; especially when it comes to the supermarkets in Flushing. And all within blocks of each other. They're just sprouting up like hotpot restaurants....guess that's the business trend now. They carry some good selection of Asian snacks, drinks, and imported seafood. But it's clear they're still trying to get into the groove of things, organization wise. This is the worst supermarket in Flushing. I had a terrible experience with the burly security this morning. We have to show our purchases n receipt to these securities at the entrance but today the guard yanked open my tote to check as well without asking if he can see inside my bag . New Asian supermarket on Main St & Roosevelt. They was the closed Modell's Sporting Good store next to Burger King. I went the first week because it was opening day but there was NO crowed control or restrictions of amount of people inside the store. Customers were all on top of each other, no distancing, no assistant. So poorly managed. Everyone is in here because of free gifts for shopping on opening week. We left immediately because there is still an pandemic raging in this country. We visit again on a later date. To his store will do well because of convenience to shoppers. This Chinese supermarket is not the cleanest or most organized. Actually it's quite crowded and the aisles are compact with long lines especially near the produce area/entrance on Main St. Also selection is decent and might not be the freshest (but good enough) but there could be more. However the main reason for my rating simply is Price - it is the cheapest supermarket in Flushing especially compared to the SkyFoods in the sky view mall which provides a more pleasant experience or even the Jmart in the new world mall, which provides only a slightly better shopping experience vs US1. This is a new Chinese supermarket in Downtown Flushing. It took the space of the old Modells. I came here because it was a grand opening and it advertised that there is free parking for 1-hour if you spend $40 in groceries. The free parking (39th Ave - between Prince Street and Main Street across from the parking lot) is on the other side of the block and you have to walk turning two corners before reaching the store so there is no direct access. You will have to lug all your purchases from the store to the car. So if you're buying a large amount (in my case a 20 pound bag of rice along with other items), you'll need to work out beforehand and have enough hands to carry everything!!! As for the prices, there are items on sale to entice you to visit. My bill came out to over $96. As I was leaving I saw that they have vinylized shopping bags so I stopped by one of the registers to ask if by chance they were giving them out for free and showed her my receipt. Unfortunately, I encountered one of the situations that I HATE AND IS A PET-PEEVED of mine. The worker working responded very agitated and nasty saying that she doesn't understand English when I spoke to her in English. So I switched to Chinese and she snapped that the bags cost $1 each. She acted in a way many immigrants do in these establishments working the registers feeling safe that she's working at a place that allows her to use her native language - no training in customer service. I doubt she would like that kind of treatment if it was reversed. If she doesn't like being spoken to in English, she might want to go back to her native country. This saddens me greatly. I will not be returning to this store ! read more

Fairly good market. Has just about what you need, they have a wide variety of Asian pantry items to home/kitchen appliance and bathroom stuff. They also carry some American named brand yogurts and some fruits/packaged meals etc. I find that some of their produce are quite fresh and they are packaged neatly and clean. The market is clean.***. Very big, almost too big sometimes I find myself walking back and forth around the produce section trying to look for silk almond milk come to find the price was bit too high. I'm better off getting that at Target/or Walgreens. Prices are hit/miss (-1 star). Never bought live seafood from here but the section seems very well maintained. Staff helpful. read more

There is so many people crowding into this new medium large sized Asian market, that it feels claustrophobic. Quite a bit of produce was not particularly fresh. Some prices on things are rather expensive. Some of the aisles are too narrow for comfort. I came here out of newness and convenience to the Main st area. I'd rather walk a little farther and shop elsewhere. There are 2 register areas, one in the front (on Main St) and another in the back (on Roosevelt ave). This supermarket opened in the place where Modell's used to be. When I entered, it was busy and most of the customers are older adults and seniors. The main entrance is along Main St while the secondary entrance is along Roosevelt Ave. The stock is entered from Roosevelt Ave. The aisles are compact and the produce is not the cheapest but comparable to the other supermarkets around. The freezer items are at the back of the store from Main St. I brought the Kang Shifu black tea which was way cheaper than the other drinks. THe last time I drank it was more than 20 years ago. I was curious to see if they offer any great new deal to attract new shoppers. Didn't see any deal. It has all your typical stuff. It is a medium size super market in term of space. Pretty good supermarket overall. The produce section is fairly priced and reasonably fresh, though there is not quite as much variety as Jmart. Prices are very similar, with some items cheaper here and other items cheaper there, but mostly the same in any given week. The cost of groceries here are average compared to other places around the area. It's a medium sized supermarket (1 street level) with a good selection and variety of vegetables and meats. It has what you need for day-to-day grocery shopping. The meat and vegetables are fresh. The isles are organized and clean. It's in a really convenient place, in the heart of Flushing with easy access to the 7 train and other bus lines. It's also surrounded by a lot of restaurants, which makes it convenient to pick up groceries after you eat. Lots of people when we were there, but that's everywhere in Flushing so you can't help it. I was looking for some specific Asian snacks like the Japanese dried squids, which unfortunately they did not carry them. But there are good selection of snacks and drinks. We would definitely drop by because of its convenient spot to buy some groceries after eating out. read more
