First time, forgot to sort by newest reviews so saw great ones which were yrs old, probably wouldn't have gone if I had. Food was ok, not really worth the $. Total bill for us was $90 + tip, with 2 entrees, 1 big app & 2 pops. I got the sirloin & hubby got the lobster mac & cheese. High point for me was the jazzed up green beans. They were really good. When we walked in, we were greeted by a gentlemen who said to seat ourselves & the waitress would be with us shortly. There were only around 12 tables & only 1 occupied with 3 ppl. My husband & I took a seat & another couple came in after. Looks like the guy was the chef & there was only 1 server who was also bartending down the hall. Only issue was that we ordered the $18 cheeseboard which the menu said came with grapes & olives but had neither. I asked the waitress who became upset & went into the kitchen where I could hear yelling but we did finally get the olives. They also charge an automatic 4% credit card fee which seemed excessive. Server told another party they're under new management. Not sure if that improved things at all. We really liked the artwork & the beautiful holiday decorations in the lobby of the hotel, which you have to walk through to enter the restaurant. The building itself is historic, easily over 100 yrs old. Won't go back but I like to try new things so not a total loss. I took pictures of the latest menu. The one here now is 6 yrs old & some things have changed. Also snapped the 4% fee blurb from our receipt.

Hunk of over cooked fat, under cooked Brussel sprouts. And flavorless mashed potatoes. However the potatoes were edible.

Poor food quality, over priced, and crap service. Ordered to take to my room in the Hotel, staff claimed they could not call when order was ready. I had to go back several times over the hour to check on order, and then return to get utensils. Meat was over cooked and leatherly, dry. The sprouts were under cooked, and mashed potatoes were cold. Disappointed. Threw it in the trash and ordered food else where. Staff didn't care about my dissatisfaction. Server proceeded to inform me that's how to braise meat, as if she knew. Dear Lord darling, Sigh...

Always a favorite of ours. Service was great. Food fantastic. The extensive drink menu has delicious specialty drinks, wine and some beers. We were disappointed that there is no longer music. We had enjoyed the pianist and guitar player. So relaxing and different from other venues. Made Skye a notch above the others. Tho we will return, hopefully management will reconsider the music. Reservation recommended, but not required. A separate tavern has a nice bar and ample seating for eating or hanging out.

Lisa was wonderful! We sat in the bar at a table and enjoyed a lovely meal. The chef made substitutions to accommodate our dietary needs and we were very happy with our delicious meals.

Anniversary dinner. I had the homemade pasta with shrimp, roasted red pepper & garlic. It was good but could have had a bit more garlic flavor and I did ask for extra garlic. My husband had the short ribs, garlic rosemary mashed & veggies and he loved it. Our server Lisa was great. Friendly with a warm welcoming smile. We will for sure come back.

We had my daughter's baby shower at Skye Bistro in March 2021. Doug the GM was very professional and responsive to all our requests. The setup and service for our event was outstanding. The guests raved about the food! Doug and his team made our event a great success!!

Sail away martini, like a piña colada but not quite as creamy and sweet

Excellent service in the bar with great appetizers. The spinach dip is a keeper. Highly recommend trying something on the dinner menu.

"Hook and Hoof" has been in downtown Willoughby for quite a while so they must be doing something right. And the fact that there aren't that many high level dining establishments in the Willoughby area helps. The first thing I noticed was the facility is very narrow which lends to a crowded feel. And all you need is one overly boisterous table (which was right next to us) and the noise level can be overwhelming. The server we had for the evening was very pleasant. She did a good job being timely with everything. But, it was odd that she often did not listen to an entire request (or maybe just couldn't hear) before walking away. There were a couple of requests for simple standard items that she wasn't even sure they had. I just found it odd. The food however was excellent. The kitchen staff did an exemplary job all night. I had a marvelous cocktail from the well stocked bar. And my double cut pork chop was fantastic. So full of flavor, juicy, cooked exactly as I requested. The sides that accompanied it were just tender enough without being mushy. And my banana cream pie was great. Overall, I give "Hook and Hoof" a solid 4. I definitely can see us going back. They deserve another try. You should give them a try and see for yourself.

The prices were astronomical so my daughter and I just ordered meatballs and potato wedges. I really wanted fish but there was only ONE fish dish on the menu and I didn't like how it was going to be prepared. There's a big disclaimer at the bottom of the menu that says "no substitutions or modifications". Geez, for a $40 fish plate you couldn't have modified it for me?? The meatballs were good, but came out luke warm. The wedges were good. The atmosphere was nice. For 3 meatballs, 5 potato wedges, and a 15% tip (she lost 5% due to not asking us for drinks) our bill came to $45. I *wish* I was joking. We won't be back. I honestly feel like I just got ripped off.
