I had a great experience with skydive arizona. I did the tandem skydive with 2 of my friends for my birthday and all the workers were super friendly and made us comfortable. Even on the plane i forgot about my nerves because we were joking and laughing and having fun. The only issue was how long we had to wait even tho we had a reservation but i understand it all depends on the wind and weather conditions. Overall, really recommend this place but definitely prepare to spend a good chunk of your day waiting. read more

I did my first tandem jump at Skydive Arizona a few weeks ago, and I never thought I'd actually skydive because I've always been terrified. My siblings and I were gifted it, so we went and I tried to act calm, but my siblings videos definitely says otherwise. The whole experience was great from start to finish. The place is really nice and well set up, and everyone was so kind. My instructor, Johnathan, was amazing, he could tell I was scared and really helped calm me down. Even other staff were giving me fist bumps and helping me to be at ease. I definitely screamed (sorry Johnathan ), but I always felt safe from start to finish and taken care of. Honestly, it was such a good experience that I already booked another jump to try again and be a little braver. If you're nervous like me, they really take care of you here!! 12.30.23 Sky diving is one of the things I wanted to do as a challenge for myself to end 2023 b/c I'd never done it before. I know many First Timers set different intentions for sky diving - overcoming a fear, celebrating a birthday, etc. Everyone at Skydive AZ - from my first check in with Deloria to my sky dive instructor Dae to all the sky diving veterans on our plane - were hands-down, exceptionally reassuring, kind and informative. And full of irreverent jokes once on the plane, which was perfect b/c I needed to laugh & be distracted. I may be known as The Screamer (not sure) b/c I literally screamed the entire one minute of free fall and poor Dae had to listen to that. I appreciate her reassuring me when we were in the air that the jump was going perfectly (even as I screamed). It wasn't until she pulled the chute that I opened my eyes and appreciated the stillness, serenity and stunning view from being up so high. The experience was totally energizing and I drove back to Phoenix, still riding that natural high. After riding that high for the next week and sharing with friends/family (none of whom I could convince to join me on the next dive), I decided I'd like to sky dive MORE. I called and asked if they have like a five-dive or ten-dive punch card but that's not a thing. Dang it! I think it's a stellar idea. So, I wanted to finally try skydiving with my friends. I am elder. Did I chicken out, you bet I did. But my friends went and I got to see and they had the best time ever. The instructors who I did meet were super nice and seemed that they would not kill my friends. Not a bruise on any of them and each said their instructor was great, one may have been named Kevin, but I don't recall exactly. The area is beautiful around there and just driving there is fun. I went Skydiving here a while back for my birthday, my fiancé reserved the jump for us because he knew I had always wanted to go. Unfortunately, I had a horrible experience due to my tandem instructor jump partner "L.L.". There was a mix-up at the front desk where someone else with the same first name as me was listed for my jump, this was unknown to me at the time. When the time for our jump was coming up my instructor called my name and I approached him and said that is my first name but I have a different last name and he shook his head no and was dismissive with me so I sat back down. Then when my fiancé got called back and was getting strapped up, I approached my instructor again and said my first name again and then he quickly pulled me to the side and appeared annoyed and rushed even though I explained the situation before. He rudely made comments to me like "do you not know your own name?", despite me approaching him and asking him the first time, telling him that it was the wrong last name. He also made other rude comments during this time like "Let's hope the jump goes better" as he attached my safety harness. It was a demoralizing, awful, and scary experience right before I was about to be strapped to this guy while jumping out of a plane for the first time. After I repeated the situation to him again he had me go up to the front desk and they confirmed that it was the wrong name and apologized to me. However, my tandem partner NEVER apologized to me after this and attempted to change the subject and be cordial after this and after I told him it was my first time jumping. The actual jump was great (probably the only reason I didn't give my experience one star). I want to go skydiving again to have a better experience but I don't know if I would ever go here again. My fiancé, who was only skydiving that day because I always wanted to, seemed to have a great tandem partner so I do know they have good instructors here. Unfortunately, though in what should have been one of the most fun experiences of my life, all I have associated with it is the memory is how bad my instructor made me feel. I do want to say the front desk was kind and apologetic, they also refunded my jump that day at least, I am not sure there is much else they can do but I have had trouble recommending Skydive AZ to others due to my experience. read more

I took my daughter for a tandem jump together for her 21st birthday. Beautiful sunny day to go Skydiving! Definitely worth the drive to free fall for 60 seconds out of a plane, 13,000 feet above ground! We waited about an hour after signing documents and speaking with the professional skydivers. Rich was very thorough and had such a positive energy which made this experience so much fun. I wasn't scared or worried whatsoever because he made me feel very safe. I definitely will be back and I'll be requesting him again! Eddie was my media guy, he captured all the photos and videos from start to finish. He did such a fantastic job in such a short amount of time and provided it to me in a USB drive. I just jumped from 13,000 feet this morning. 4 hours later, I am still excited about what just happened! Having jumped from 10,000 feet before, I highly recommend this company as they jump from 13,000 feet. That's about additional 30 seconds in free fall. Love free fall! Purchased via Groupon, their price was slightly higher than two other companies in the area but experience from them is not even comparable. Staff here is very professional, camera men are so up beat and fun, they know how to shoot really good pictures and video. I regretted not purchasing photo options previously so I decided to include photo as my option. When you request, another person jump with you. It's $95 for either still pictures or video. $135 for both. I am very pleased with quality of pictures I received. Their price include free t-shirts, one appetizer at their cafe, discount coupon for your next jump. Some call me crazy. I just did tandem. Your tandem guy will do everything. Just have to follow his instructions and all we have to do is enjoy the amazing feeling during free fall and nice view from parachute. Crazy? No at all, just living my life. My review remains the same. This place is super organized. This is my fifth tandem (don't judge me). Some of us just can't trust ourselves to pull the chute on our own at 13k feet. I came here 7 months ago to watch my roomie jumped and here I am again. The weather is perfect and the skies are beautiful!! It is painted with all the vivid colors from the different chutes. It's been 10 years since I did my one and only tandem jump, but I love coming out to watch both professional and amateur jumpers come in for a landing. The Bent Prop provides decent food and beverage. There is a covered space for spectators, which they expand for events. The shops are open most weekends. For a world class Dropzone, I found it abhorrent that their student landing area was so poorly tended to (uneven ground and gopher holes) that people are getting injured left & right, including myself. I sprained my ankle so badly I went to the hospital for x-rays as I thought I may have broken something. The main landing area is in great shape, so it's obviously possible to do and I would think it would be a priority for their skydivers not to get hurt. My teachers refused to even land on that field, opting instead to land in the desert next to the field. read more

Two words: UH-MAZING! This place is INCREDIBLE. This has been one of the most unforgettable experiences in my life! This was my very first tandem skydiving experience. The staff was incredibly accommodating when I told them my dad would be more comfortable with a Spanish-speaking instructor; after all, you should completely trust and understand the person that's going to be jumping with you at 1300 ft! My dad was paired with Roberto (who has an incredibly fun personality!) and I was paired with Sandy. I was a bit nervous at first, but Sandy was great at preparing me for the process and made me feel very safe, like I could [literally] trust him with my life! Then the moment finally came and it was time to jump out! I can't describe how amazing it feels to free fall and then glide through the air with a parachute... it's unlike anything else you'll ever experience. It's not scary like riding a rollercoaster, but exhilarating in its own way. One of my favorite parts was that Sandy let me control the reigns of the parachute for a few minutes, and it got me hooked on skydiving! I will definitely be doing this again! Tips from a rookie: * Use a Groupon if available! We paid $150 per person instead of $200. * Wear contacts instead of glasses! They won't allow you to jump wearing glasses since they run the risk of flying off mid-air. * The photo/video option ($120) isn't necessarily the best. My brother got both and he was so busy trying to look up at the videographer that he didn't enjoy the free fall. Also, they can't get a photo/video of you with the parachute deployed. Finally, the quality of the video is a little grainy. At such a steep price, you're better off saving a few more dollars and skydiving again! read more

I have nothing but great things to say about our experience even with our jumps having to be rescheduled due to wind. Slight bummer but defiant want to be safe not sorry. For the instructors who called that-thank you for having our best interests in mind. My son turned 18 and wanted to go ski diving. My husband had been several times years (eons) ago and I had never been. This was the best birthday for an 18-year-old to have!!! From the reservation ladies to the instructors and a fabulous videographer this was an experience not one of us will forget. My instructor, A-Aron was the "okayest" instructor ever!!!! My son had Bob and my husband had Monkey Lip. Thanks to all of you for making this a trip we won't forget!!! One word, IMPRESSIVE! While I did the research, I did not think that we are going to do any skydiving but the woman that was standing out front greeted us and it started to tumble from there. I was just getting information and the lady waiting for her friend said that I should just walk up and ask if they take walk-ins. I joked around and asked why she wasn't skydiving; she said that she has 563 jumps. So I did a little research and I have heard that you need reservations... so maybe I will ask and would be told I am not able to and I can tell everyone that at least I tried. The woman behind the desk looked at me and said, "I can fit you in now" and that is where it all went nuts. So I was told to have a seat and I went in and filled out the paperwork and from there was told that I had 15 minutes. I went to the bathroom and told my group that I had signed up. I think that they did not believe me at that point but I was ready. I was glad to meet the couple from Washington, I wish I got their names and information. Sherry was the woman's name and she had I believe either around 50 or 80 jumps and the new canopy. I spoke to them for a bit and they calmed me down from shaking. Okay, time for check-in. Meeting Aaron (my instructor), while I was nervous, I am glad his confidence was there. He explained everything and it felt like it went a mile a minute; I am glad that we went over it again in the plane. He is a great instructor and he explains everything, so the confidence showed that I have nothing to worry about. Get the photo and video package; it is my evidence that I did it. Introducing Taylor, I look over and someone was bouncing around a chute without shoes on. I thought that was a little odd and when he came over to meet me after I was geared up I was starting to feel more comfortable. Taylor being from Alabama spoke with a drawl and so he spoke a little slower. This helped calm me down a little more. As a result, Aaron and Taylor worked well together. As we were getting on the trolley a lot of people were discussing that part of a chute was falling in the wind. They were looking for a reserve chute and then they pointed out the safety and that someone had to use their reserve. I thought before we go anywhere we should just check on them and make sure they are okay. Nope, we are going. As I was getting on the trolley to the plane Aaron and Taylor both asked me if I was ready, my thought was that they have my money. Yep! No turning back now! Getting on the plane it was tight, but I expected that. I was honored to find out that one of the best skydivers from France was on the plane with his team. I also had a Chinese freestyle team and a US military team. I was the new guy. You get cozy and I was hooked up. I thought that I was going to chicken out when I got to the door but like everyone said, you don't think, and you end up just rolling out... and I did. The freefall was awesome, and you look around just thinking ok what should I be doing? Chute, and then you are snug and gliding down. I had the pleasant conversation on the way down. Walking off the field everyone was asking me questions and I think that the people that are doing it for the first time are the ones that really are their own walking advertisement. Going to the bar afterwards to eat they played your video for you while you ate. I had a group pointing to me asking if that was me, that brought on more questions. I know that I talked one person into going and another person came up after I was done eating and had more questions. I think that I signed two people up that were not planning on doing it. I was a walking billboard! I was talking to people for an hour afterwards telling them it was not that bad. Afterwards we went to the indoor Skydiving and I seen the military teams practicing. That was impressive and afterwards we seen them jumping with all their gear. Wow. Impressive. There I spoke to another couple that asked me about it and the guy said that he was going to do it Thursday morning. I said that I might be too! Wanting to know more, I had questions. They require 500 jumps before you can do photography for them. I did some quick math and was thinking about how well educated they are and what they do to provide a service. I had not seen anything about tipping so I asked if they could take tips. Both instructors and videographers can accept tips. If this is your "once in a lifetime" activity, and you enjoyed it, TIP THEM! They are professional, educated, and this is their job. Recommendations for the first timers: * Do it! * Get the video package * Ask for Aaron & Taylor My recommendation for Skydive Arizona, lower the price of the video package if they allow it played at the bar. This is your billboard. The hundreds of spectators are asking questions and are thinking about it, that is why they are there. Five Stars is rare for me. This was truly worth 5 stars. Skydiving was the most fabulous experience in my life. Thank you Aaron for being such a great instructor and not letting us die. Lol It's been a really long time maybe about 4 years that I did the jump and I can still remember as if it was yesterday. It was about 5-6 of us that did the jump I was celebrating my birthday and I wanted something exciting. We arrived 30 minutes before because you have to sign a waiver incase if you die your family can't sue them. After they explain all the options to buy, if you want a photographer to also jump with you and make a video of you it's extra. I bought everything possible just incase if I died lol. Few minutes later in the plan Aaron opened the airplane door and there we go!!! We jumped and it was the best feeling in world... my photographer capture all my awesome expressions.
