I come in now and they always remember me and chat with me about how my dogs are. Working in the pet industry myself, I know there's nothing better than a staff that remembers you and your pets, it shows that they genuinely care. I was impressed at the customer service and helpful attitude of all of the employees here. I was also impressed with the selection of foods they have available to the shoppers. The boxes arrived basically destroyed, either in the Petsmart warehouse or by FedEx. The main issue that we are having is with the return process. This order was placed from California by my husband, who is the card holder. The manager of the Denton Petsmart Store stated that the original credit card must be present at the return. This is impossible since the credit card is in California. I believe a refund could be processed using the email order confirmation and the associated card details, without requiring a physical presentation of the card. I believe the Store Manager is going out of her way to make the return as difficult as possible because she doesn't want 49 damaged boxes return. Additionally, we ordered the cat litter for delivery because my daughter, who resides in Gainesville, TX has challenging health issues. Transporting the damages boxes back to the store is a significant challenge for her. At most, she can manage 10 boxes at a time in her vehicle, which would require multiple trips between Gainesville and Denton - an 80 mile round trip - an unreasonable burden. As the store has a contract with FedEx, the store has more influence in working with FedEx to come and pick up the boxes. If FedEx is the entity that damaged the boxes, then FedEx should make things right. The Store Manager was not about to discuss this with FedEx or provide any assistance or solution to this problem. Her attitude was this is basically our problem.

We've been using the Mobile Vet they host in their parking lot on Saturday mornings for years. Typically we leave right after because I don't have a farm and one of my dogs thinks she's guarding me from the roosters and will bark her head off if she sees one. So when we stopped in a couple weeks ago, it was actually my first time going inside and really looking at their products instead of just passing through. I was in awe of what they carried, even though I really shouldn't be. Of course they carry the things I expected like hay, livestock feed, baby chicks and supplies to manage their care like mesh, medicines, grooming tools and fly sprays. They also have lawn care, pest control and supplies for birds, rabbits and wildlife that I hadn't thought of before. It's a great place to get everything from horseshoes to shavings to gardening tools with a decent selection to choose from. I wasn't expecting their pet and home goods section to be so big though, and what started out as a quick stop to check for dog food options and a new stake for leads, turned into an hour of wandering around and purchasing way too many things for our pets, lol. They exceeded my expectations in terms of pet medicines. I was anticipating a couple of flea options and maybe several vaccines, but they even had products for anxiety. The amount of dog treats to choose from floored me AND they have the bulk style section for certain treats and chews. I haven't seen that outside of WinCo! Their feed bowl choices were much larger than I expected too, including a variety of sizes, the self feeding bowls and at least one of those puzzle bowls that is supposed to slow down their eating. I can't believe their pet selection is just as big as their livestock selection, I really expected it to be more of an afterthought, but I was not disappointed. I was very impressed to see the offerings they had for my older dogs in terms of food and treats as well, both my dogs loved the probiotic treats I bought here. They had a display of spices at the counter, as well as local honey, I'm totally a sucker for local honey! The prices were fair and I thought the total amount we paid for two armfuls of products was pretty reasonable. I can't speak for all items, but I recognized several brands I normally buy at grocery stores and they were several dollars cheaper here. Warning, it's hard not to buy a chick upon entry and exit. I bought a frog from them in 2022 who immediately started showing strange behavior (seizure like mannerisms, getting knocked on her back and unable to correct herself, among other highly unsettling things). I tried to call the Petco multiple times to speak to their ordering manager (or even a regular manager) to discuss this because I had done a TON of research and thought that it was a potential problem with the breeder they got their frogs from. I tried calling for WEEKS and the manager was somehow never in. I tried emailing a big document with photos and research. Never a response. I STILL go into this Petco and see frogs with the same sores/discoloring my frog had + improper housing practices (keeping larger frogs with baby frogs who are in danger of being eaten by the larger frogs).
