The drinks are expensive with barely any alcohol. We had shrimp and fish tacos and the fish was gray colored and did not taste good. The shrimp tacos were deep friend in so much batter you could barely taste the shrimp. My friends burrito was not good either. The chips and guacamole were really good and that is all I would come for if I were to come back. The day we were there it was raining and the roof leaked so I had water dripping on me and the table the whole time we were there. It was 114.00 for lunch for 4 of us. In addition, when I received my credit card bill, the amount was higher than what I signed for after leaving a tip. I have never had that happen before in Mexico so not sure what to think about that. It's a pass next time we visit the island. read more

We have been coming for past 5 years and look forward to their aguachile and grilled octopus. Sadly, their customer service has gone down as once again waited 25 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us and brought us menu. Added mozzarella sticks to menu this year yet took another 15 minutes to get ranch and it ended up being Cesar vs ranch. Food was good eating all dishes 8/10. Ordered a mojito and dirty monkey. Loved out visit! Food and drinks were good. We made a reservation prior and had no issues. Snorkeling was amazing. The only negative was a guy who was a tour guide who kept trying to correct us. What an amazing and unique opportunity. Just a short drive from the ferry pier, this hidden jam is an excellent place to snorkel relax and enjoy a drink. The staff will not rush you and if you bring your own gear, the snorkeling is free. My husband enjoyed a relaxing afternoon here on the lounge chairs in the shade sharing a few drinks and exploring the waves. Highly recommend! read more

This was a wonderful and super relax snorkeling visit. We informed the security / entrance person that we'll be ordering food and drinks and they welcomed us in for snorkeling. We stayed for 2-1/2 hours and ordered food and drinks while in the beach lounge chairs and snorkeled their cool reef. We packed our own beach towels & brought our snorkeling gear. I don't think they have towels available -snorkeling gear rental is available and swim floaters / life jackets available for rental for $10/day. Restrooms were kept clean, servers were very nice and friendly and helpful. They have a variety of good food and drinks available in their menu. Try to come by early, it gets packed by after noon. $64 for all you can eat all you can drink, four hours you get to choose your start time. It also includes snorkeling package. It includes alcoholic drinks regular drinks, five minute massage. Arrive early so you can get your lounge chairs. They come and serve you on the beach. Or you can sit in the restaurant. They have clean bathrooms. They have showers to rinse off. They have little stores to shop for souvenirs. Staff is professional and very friendly. Yess they speak clear English. The beach is clean the water is clear. The fish are beautiful they're not shy they swim right by you. It's a cool little spot very beautiful very relaxing. The music is great. I love the music here. It's relaxing, but also has a good vacation vibe. Nothing ghetto. Food is sooooo freaking good! I'm not even hungry and I'm about to order my 3rd order of fish ceviche because it's so fresh, so tasty and packed with yummy flavor. Hands down the best fish ceviche I've ever had! My kids really enjoyed the quesadilla we added chicken and that was really good as well. Over all it's a lovely day, a great experience. Easy to bring my kids to. We made the right choice. If they tried harder to be mean and rude I don't think they could. We arrived by taxi and the huge guy at the podium told us it was 20 US to get in... for that we would get a shot of tequila a beer use of their chairs, a 5 minute massage. We told him that we were told it was free as long as we bought food and drink which we plan to as we wanted to spend the day. He was disgusted and angry and couldn't have been less welcoming. He relented and let us in. We settled in walked to the bar to order. When our guy Isreal came over he brought a dark beer which we told him we hadn't ordered and requested a light beer. He said as piss d and m glad I have limited Spanish so I didn't have to hear what choice words he said....no water to shower off after swimming and no water to flush toilets. Sad thing was that the snorkeling was great. We are coming to Cozumel in the winter and won't be coming back read more

We arrived early, about 830 or so, and were welcomed by Gaspar. He explained pricing and timing of our stay. By 9 o'clock or so, our waiter, Villi (sp?) was offering us drinks and food , arranging services that we wanted (a massage on the beach), he worked around our lazy schedule of resting, snorkeling, and dining. The fish tacos, ceviche, and chicken fajitas were so fresh, hot, and delicious. I've never had corn tortillas so light and flavorful. This is not a sand beach, but a rock shore with very good snorkeling opportunity... just off the pier. The location was close enough to the port so it was relatively inexpensive to travel to. It was a fun atmosphere with music, umbrellas, lounge chairs, and covered tables for dining. Hallmark of authenticity: there was a party that was attended by locals. We spent our day here as our excursion in Cozumel on our cruise. It's not a huge place but it's big enough. It is very rocky, so if you're looking for a big open sandy beach area then this isn't what you're looking for. If you're looking for a great spot to snorkel either with a guide or on your own then you will definitely enjoy it. You can walk down their little dock and get right in and snorkel. There is a ton of fish right there. Food was okay and pricing was decent. read more

Been all over the Caribbean and Sky Reef is the most expensive for some reason. They wanted $6 for a can of beer and $14 for simple nachos. I'll stay in Florida and spend the same or less and not have to pay airfare. Cancun, Playa Del Carmen and Cozumel are now very expensive. read more

This place is fine ... not great ... but worthy of a visit. First, it's not expensive, and it offers extras like snorkeling (which the snorkelers seem to really enjoy). I was just here to lay around and drink a few beers. It was fine for that too. The food here is mediocre. It's served hot and fresh, but we weren't overly impressed. Service? Excellent. It's all about the location. Really good snorkeling. It's food is good enough. It's a bit pricey but you are paying for location. But I've definitely been to move expensive beach clubs. Margaritas are around $7 US not bad. Service is ok, not fantastic but not bad. Ambiance is great. Yes I recommend especially with kids. We took a taxi and spent most of the day at this beach/restaurant. The staff is very friendly. We arrived after breakfast and easily found lounge chairs, at no cost. We went for the snorkeling and had a great time. Our waiter made us feel comfortable and we didn't worry about our belongings while away from our chairs. We took advantage of the massages. The food was slow but they were pretty busy. We had the shrimp tacos and I didn't realize they would be fried. The guac was good. Great snorkeling and wonderful service. Chips and guac were fresh and so yummy! We saw a stingray, flounder, a barracuda, crabs, puffer fish, and more! My expectations were surpassed. Additionally, I have to give a HUGE shout out to general manager, Marcos Jiménez. I had left my phone in the taxi that I left SkyReef from, and he went above and beyond to help return it to me. After I reached out with some information, he retrieved it from the cab driver and shipped it back to me all whilst I was driving home in the US. I will definitely be coming back here next time I'm in Cozumel! read more

For $15 we got to relax, snorkel with their equipment, 1 complimentary beer / wine / soft drink / bottled water, received a 5 min. trial massage, and did a tequila tasting. There are beach chairs and covered seating at the restaurant area. Everyone is quite friendly. Lots of fish. fans. reef in the shallows and some good spots to the left facing the water. the beach area is rockier at this part of shoreline and good for snorkeling. This is a secret gem! A lot of cruise excursions bring their snorkel tours here because sky reef is great for beginners! There is a lot of fire coral though so be careful. All of the beaches on this side of Cozumel charge a cover fee per person except Sky Reef! We purchased $3.50 beers and snorkeled for free since we had our own gear! Such a great deal and a beautiful snorkel spot close to the cruise pier. Unfortunately there is no sandy beach but the water is beautiful! read more

Great location for snorkeling. We saw lots of fish. The water is calm. Nice secluded place. The drinks were fantastic as well. About a $15 cab ride from the port. This place has the worst food ever. We had the chicken tacos and a greasy piece of mahi mahi. I asked for it be grilled and it came slathered in grease along with a few pieces of grease soaked veggies. I've seen more authentic tacos from Taco Bell. Even the taco chips sucked. My wife's margarita had no alcohol in it, the table next to us also complained that there was nothing alcohol in their drinks. One hour later I started to feel queazy and an hour later I developed the worst case of diarrhea. This place is right on the water but has nasty nasty food. The only highlight of my meal was my can of Coke. Beware, save your money and eat anywhere but here. Eat at your own risk or bring some Lomotil( diarrhea medication) if you dare your consume anything from this place. read more

You can totally snorkel here for "free" vs going to Chankanaab and spending $$$. A local recommended this spot so we had to check it out before our trip ended. We got there early enough to snag good seating near the snorkel area and to beat the crowd. Bring your own snorkel gear if you can. I think they rent them out there, but ew. Your spit gets all up in there...why would you rent that?? You can buy snorkel gear at the local markets. Anyway, we didn't eat there, but had some drinks. They have a shower area for you to clean up which is nice and clean bathrooms as well. We spent a few hours there and had a great time. read more

Fantastic place for snorkeling. The amount of fish was awesome. The hubby wanted to see corals and he got a chance to see abundant amount of sea fans and some fantastic structures. I love this place! What a great haven for snorkeling, authentic Mexican food, great organic small-batch tequila, a massage to ease your tension, and for soaking up some sun rays. Sky Reef is about a year old (as we were told) and is situated in the same coastal area that the Chankannaab state park is located in. That said, this is a great area for snorkeling. I very much enjoyed the layout of the establishment and the facilities. There is a restaurant, massage area, a bar/restaurant, a snorkeling equipment hut, copious amounts of lounge chairs with umbrellas and tables, a tequila tasting bar/area, lockers (for personal possessions while snorkeling), a hammock, good bathrooms and changing rooms, showers, and nice sinks and mirrors in the outside area. My snorkeling experience was outstanding and the snorkeling equipment for rent was more than adequate and was of quality. I was amazed by what spectacular views I had of aquatic life in the shallow water at the coastline. I had some seafood posole as well as complimentary chips and habanero salsa and pico de gallo. All were great and service was excellent. The tequila bar, staffed by a nice local named Francisco "Pancho", was a delight and a treat. The tequila aged in white oak barrels (purchased from Jack Daniels) was superb. The tequila was very smooth and of high quality. Not to mention there were a ton of flavors if that's your thing (citrus, amaretto, coffee, blueberry, and Baileys). The massage area was clean and comfortable looking and had a nice ambiance, as it was by the coastline. I had fauve minute sample neck and upper shoulder massage (with medium pressure) and it was intense and really worked my muscles. I would definitely come back to experience the awesomeness of Sky Reef upon my return to Cozumel. Thank you, Sky Reef, for an incredible experience. read more

I was staying on Cozumel for a week and was interested in some decent snorkeling; Sky Reef didn't disappoint. You can rent snorkel gear and a life jacket (bring cash and an ID if you're going this route). There was a nice, colorful variety of fish and I even saw a couple Starfish. Do the reef a favor and bring along reef-friendly sunscreen. Sunscreens kill the reef, and they have signs around saying this, but they aren't going to check your bags or make you shower before jumping in. Amazon and other places sell organic, reef-friendly sunscreen, so get some before heading to Cozumel and do your part to save the reef for future generations even though you can get away with poisoning the water. We had great food and beer at the restaurant and it cost $34 in American dollars (cash only). I highly recommend this beach. read more

Went right at sunset for a quick snorkel and get some food and beers with the family. They told me the kitchen was closed but would see if they could get us some food. They said OK and we ordered 3 fish taco plates and 3 beers. Got a $50 check handed to me for a total of 9 tacos ( $43 ) and the beers ( $7) The waiter told me they were mahi mahi tacos and they were $16 each. The tacos were mediocre at best.
