It wasn't until we arrived at the appointment this week that we were informed of an EXCESSIVE price increase in their membership fee from $300 annually to $400 annually for each (3) family member (no discount offered for multiple family members). The office staff informed us that the new plan price includes a 3rd office visit. Who goes to the dentist for a cleaning 3x a year? Every 6 months is sufficient. We cancelled this appointment and two other future appointments. Our family changed to another dentist in the area with a reasonable membership plan. It has been almost a year and I keep getting told to just wait all while getting charged at every turn for every X-ray for a problem they created. I am in constant pain, I really wish I never went to this place, I have multiple gaps in my teeth that I did not have before. The dentist here just rushed to do my fillings, while talking about cabinets instead of focusing on my teeth! Went to another Ideal when I first was experiencing pain and she said my fillings were super high, although I told the dentist at the Presidio location that my bite was off, she told me that they didn't look high to her! I'm sick and tired of my pain and concerns not taking seriously while I have been dealing with this issue for almost a year now. I really regret going here and just trusting dentist to suggest and do what is best instead of doing things for money and not knowing what they are doing. Instead of trying to help me with the problem they caused, they keep trying to suggest other treatment that has nothing to do with my pain! Now I'm left writing this review after pleading with them multiple times to help me.

The front desk tried to SCAM my husband into paying $170 for X-rays that would have 100% been covered by insurance. She claimed that since he was a "new patient," he was liable to pay a $170 fee! He tried to call the office the day before his appointment TWICE to get a breakdown on his responsibility of cost, and the office never answered their phones. He was there for TWO HOURS for a routine dental cleaning and some X-Rays. I tried to confirm with Evon that his visit was 100% covered by insurance and she couldn't even verify that. This office staff is completely incompetent, and I would HIGHLY suggest staying clear of this place.

The DFL…read moretook Full Advantage of my UNUM Dental Insurance by taking more than just the typical bite wing but also full head and mouth X-rays and Scans to the Full Extent my Dental Insurance Allowed. The Initial Examination by the Dental Hygienist took the liberty of pushing the sale of expensive orthodonics to align and straighten teeth and expensive Deep Cleaning Gum Therapy Treatments. During the Dentist Exam it was determined that an Old Capped and Root Canal Tooth needed to be extracted but instead of simply doing the Tooth Extraction which was covered by the UNUM Dental Insurance decided to refer me to an expensive Dental Inplant and Surgery Specialist ( A Good Friend of the Dentist). After taking all the expensive pictures and scans of my teeth and jaw scheduled the Expensive Deep Cleaning for a week later to allow time to complete the time consuming procedure. When I learned that Deep Cleaning and Gum Treatments were not fully covered by the UNUM Dental Insurance I called to Cancel the Appointment as I could not afford the Expensive Dental Procedure which DFL quickly changed to a Simple Dental Cleaning in order to get a few last dollars out of my Dental Insurance was subsequently advised by DSL that my UNUM Dental Insurance would not longer be accepted by DSL and that I would need to find another Dentist Office that accepts the Insurance or pay Full Price (Non-Insured) Costs for Future Dental Services Rendered by DSL. Now forced to have to find another Less Greedy Dentist that will accept my UNUM Dental as Full Payment for Dental Services.

Forced Upselling at this location:…read more I went in for a new patient visit. You don't get a cleaning on the first visit, only xrays and an exam, meaning you have to pay the office visit fee twice. Despite only have a handful (less than 9%) of gum testing showing a 4mm depth (a "warning" level by their own metrics, with 5+ being signs of dental/gum disease) and zero bone loss shown on xrays, I was told (after being forced to wait 30 minutes for a "treatment plan") that I had to pay $400 for a special deep cleaning. A standard cleaning was REFUSED despite no formal disease diagnosis. All of this came from a business manager, not even the dentist. When she started talking about "discounts" and "legal requirements" I knew I was being jockeyed for a service I didn't need. There is no law preventing a cleaning, and they also could not provide a policy showing this was the expectation from their parent company. The parent company was unresponsive to inquires about said policy and if this was a company decision or a business manager going rogue. Be wary.
