I was looking for a regular family dentist. I liked what I read and them and it wasn't too far from my home. My first visit was fine and I thought great I've found my long term dentist since I moved to the area. This is a multilayer review. Dentist - Great, Hygenist-Great. Front Desk: Not so much. / / / A tooth being watched flared up and needed to be pulled as I was having pain. Which later had an implant to replace it. I called the office early and the lady said it will be 2 weeks before we can see you- sorry. And I was clear in what was happening. Again she said sorry. Hummm, so you just told me you wanted me to wait 2 weeks with tooth pain---for someone who was suppose to be my regular dentist? / Moral to the story---it doesn't matter how great a dentist is---if the front staff will not help in an emergency or your office has short hours--well you get the idea. I found another dentist closer to my home who saw me same day who treated me with empathy and urgency. Maybe the front staff has changed since then. What a shame when customer service doesn't cost a penny. read more

Had a bill addressed for me but said me wife was the patient... but the dates are wrong and some of the services she swears it was maybe our daughters procedure. When called I got hung up on... A new patient had one visit for diagnosis. Everyone was extremely nice. Had a second visit scheduled. I pulled into the parking lot, I started not feeling well and got sick in the parking lot so I called them from their parking lot to reschedule and they're charging me $150 for rescheduling. Most doctors office as long as you reschedule will waive that. Really isn't good business for new company with new clients, sickness isn't my fault And I didn't blatantly just not show up. Good Dentist are hard to find and I thought I'd found one for my four member family, very dissatisfied with their business office. read more

I have been going to Dr. McIntosh for years now and I honestly feel like her office just keeps getting better! I lost a filling and they made an appointment for me right away and fixed it the same day! I know that may not always be possible so I appreciate it tremendously. For someone with my teeth, going to the dentist is often a difficult experience. They have never made me feel self conscious or bad about about problems that need to be fixed (unlike other dentists I have seen!). Everyone in the office is kind and helpful! read more

Absolutely top notch service; truly can't ask for anything better! Cleaning is the best, dentistry using modern devices is outstanding. Worth Five Stars. However, their office called me last week to summarily inform me that they dropped my insurance AARP United Healthcare Medical Advantage. So now my next day appointment for a cleaning would cost me out of pocket $98. Peanuts for wealthy people perhaps, but that is not me. So I will be shopping around for a different provider. I think there are enough of customers on full blown corporate insurance that Distinguished Dental could afford taking mine as a Medicare retiree. Health care providers who drop patients on Medicare should ask themselves what kind of "distinction" they really display. read more

Folks I'm a creature of habit. So when learning my dentist of 13 years in lewisville was leaving for a new office an 1 hour away, I said I'm following you! I had to backtrack months later, once discovering the new office doesn't accept insurance. I did extensive research, for a female dentist, with good reviews, accepted insurance and near my home/work. I landed on Dr. McIntosh at Distinguished Dental. I was impressed on my 1st interaction with the office on how warm they were in making my appointment and guiding me in the transition. Even more impressed upon arrival at a sparkly new building 10 minutes from home and warm greeting with receptionist. Still was apprehensive and thought a diamond could be cubic zirconia so let's wait for final opinion. Then I met Cindy/hygienist (forgive me if I got the name wrong) who's a rockstar in her field and experienced with a personality to match. She did a great job inspecting & cleaning my teeth along with some advice on an outstanding issue I had with a previous dental claim, since she used to manage a dental office in the past. Then Dr.McIntosh came in and was comforting, genuine and experienced noticing I needed to get a filling done on a tooth that was worked on from my previous dentist. The procedure was completed under 5 minutes and the tooth looked even better than when I walked in. Final conclusion: Dr. McIntosh and Distinguished Dental team is a real Diamond with the highest clarity! I found my new tooth fairy and change can be not only good but great! read more

My 5 year old son was TERRIFIED to go to the dentist!! He was so scared, crying and very uneasy with not knowing what to expect. The ladies in the office were the best with him!!! They talked to him so gently and never tried to force their procedures onto him. They were able to get some x-rays, polish most of his teeth and look at his teeth. He really didn't want the bright light so they left it off to make him more comfortable. He even got to pick something out of the treasure chest when he was done. My 2 1/2 year old daughter was after him and for her to see them being so sweet she wasn't scared at all. At her age Dr McIntosh only looks at her teeth but it was still nice to see that she felt good about being in the chair. She was also able to pick something out of the treasure chest and they both got new toothbrushes and toothpaste which they love. Dr. McIntosh is the best! She makes sure you're comfortable and not in any pain and goes through things thoroughly with you so there's no confusion. I'd recommend this place to everyone! read more

Love...Love...Love... this office! Dr. McIntosh is awesome! She is restoring some dental work that a previous Dentist had preformed terribly wrong! I wish I would have found her first. They are all caring, compassionate and gentle. Dr. McIntosh listens carefully to all of your concerns and addresses the issues with such professionalism. She also has a magnificent team!!! The front office staff is simply amazing! They really are concerned about caring for their patients and are prompt attention to service the needs of their patients needs and concerns. I had been to Distinguished Dental (DD) twice for regular cleanings and the staff was friendly and I had no complaints. On my second visit I asked about getting my teeth straightened and of the options available I chose invisalign. I returned to have a molding of my teeth made and was told to expect to come back within 2 weeks to pick up the first set of trays. 3 weeks go by and I don't hear anything so I call on a Thursday afternoon (06/30) to ask what is going on. It's the July 4th weekend and I'm told the person in charge of all the invisalign stuff is gone but will call me on Tues. Tuesday comes and goes Wednesday comes and goes with nothing so I call on Thursday 07/07 and I'm told that DD hasn't received anything from Invisalign and there is nothing to do but wait. Week 4 goes by, week 5 goes by, week 6 goes by with nothing from DD. I've already paid $1400, my insurance has paid hundreds more. We're 4 weeks past the deadline that DD set and there hasn't been a peep from them. I went back to their office on Monday to complain in person and spoke with the receptionist and she informs me that there was something wrong with the trays and they had to be returned but maybe the new trays will be in in two weeks. It seems suspicious to me that there has been a reasonable and unforeseeable delay that DD chose to keep secret from their client so I ask some questions. When were the moldings sent to Invisalign. The receptionist doesn't know. What were the package tracking numbers, she doesn't know. What courier was used to ship the package, she doesn't know. Lots of red flags! I'm thinking now that weeks previously when I called for an update and didn't get a callback that maybe they were avoiding me instead of just poor customer service. So I tell the receptionist I want to know what my options are for a refund. She explains she will have to check with Dr. McIntosh and will call me. To my surprise she does. She explains that Dr. McIntosh has canceled everything with Invisalign, there will be no product delivered, no service rendered and DD will be keeping everything that has been paid. I'm now absolutely, 100% convinced that this is fraud and something DD intended from the beginning. I explain that this isn't acceptable and the receptionist says she'll ask Dr. McIntosh if she is willing to compromise and for some reason this will take 48 hours. Monday passes, Tuesday passes, Wednesday passes with nothing from DD. The last thing they said to me was they are keeping all of the money paid and not providing anything. Thursday morning I print off and fill out the paperwork necessary to file a small claims suit and arrange to leave early so I can file with the JP and pay the $75 to have a constable serve the notice to DD. I complete the online forms for the Texas Attorney General consumer fraud protection to ask for a criminal investigation but I haven't submitted it yet. I don't remember if I signed an arbitration agreement with DD when I first became a patient so I call the office to ask for a copy of my file and as a hail mary hope that we can work this out and not have to go to court. At this point I'm recording my calls with DD. I tell the receptionist (different one from before) that I would like a copy of everything I've signed and she puts me on hold. When she comes back she confirms my email address and that she'll send everything right away. Also, by the way, there is a note from Dr. McIntosh approving a 100% refund and that will be processed soon as well. I'm completely floored. I was within minutes of formally accusing DD of fraud and they've already decided to give me a 100% refund and simply chose not only to not tell me but to leave me with the opposite impression. Sure enough 100% of the money was refunded. The emails came through and there is documentation of timely communication with Invisalign. If this had been shared with me on Monday I wouldn't have been happy about being kept in the dark for 4 weeks but I would still be a patient there. I only asked about my options for a refund and instead I was told that Dr. McIntosh proactively canceled everything. No attempt was ever made to repair the relationship, DD never apologized for the delay. I'm bewildered why they would treat a customer this way. read more

She gets to know her patients and doesn't make you feel like another number.
