Finally made it out here after meaning to do so for two years (oops!) Finally posting this review after a month or so in drafts (oops again!) Skosh is a lifestyle bar, so that means everything is available to purchase within the space, from the beverages on the menu to the couch you'll enjoy it on. They have an extensive menu of coffee and non-caf drinks. I got the blueberry basil refresher, which was their syrup of the month for May. It was refreshing, with hints of lemon alongside the syrup flavors. I think it could have been mixed better, since the top was mostly the Sprite and the bottom was more syrupy. It was also a fairly large drink too. On First Friday when I went, they had a nice open mic night with local artists performing their original work. It's great to see a business to support local talent! read more

Literally, I popped into Skosh because I wanted just a little something sweet. A skosh, if you will. (Will you?) I got a salted chocolate chip cookie, but I also considered the cinnamon roll. They also have brownies, carrot cake and yogurt parfaits. It's not a huge food menu. They have a much larger beverage menu, including coffee in all of its permutations, like traditional ol' drip coffee, lattes, Americanos, cortados, macchiatos and the like. Other beverages include tea, lemonade, hot cocoa and yerba mate. The salted chocolate chip cookies was great. Kinda salty and as big as my hand. I think they get the baked goods from a local place. Skosh is like a thrift store with a coffee shop inside it. There are couches and furniture nicely arranged that you can sit on, but that furniture is for sale. So is the clothing that is placed hither and thither. So are the mirrors and paintings all around. You can get something to drink and then kind of just wander around and look at all of the things around the store. A black cat wanders around the store, too! How can it get better? It really can't. It is very unassuming from the outside. I have been by here several times and I see people outside, but never knew what kind of business it was. There is so much going on in here. Besides the bar to sit at and order drinks, there are several rooms with seating spaces (comfy chairs, couches, tables, etc). They sell clothes, artwork, jewelry, handmade items. My partner and I went there to get coffee. She was greeted by a cashier that was evidently not happy to help customers at all. The coffee tasted like store bought refrigerated premade iced coffee. I had the iced maple brown sugar latte and my partner had the vanilla iced latte. Absolutely flavorless. I would have rather had a Starbucks coffee. I've been a customer since just after they opened. I LOVE this place. The coffee is really good; locally roasted. They make their own syrups and are now making their own food as well (in some cases--pastries and cakes are made locally). But this place is FAR more than just another coffee shop. It's kind of like a cross between Luke's, Cheers and Central Perk. You can buy anything you see, including the face plates for the light switches and the light fixtures! They have pickleball sets you can borrow so you can play on the courts across the street. There are games. There are books. There's a guitar if you feel like playing it. It's an incubator for creativity and creatives as well. You can ask for interior design; it's one of their services. I've seen artists painting in the corner. They have regular open mic nights and live music. Do they slip up? Yes, once in awhile. They did recently while the owner was moving and somehow their old DoorDash account was switched on, unbeknownst to anyone, so their new barista was receiving drivers for orders she never got for drinks they no longer make. But overall, from the locally-roasted coffee and locally-made goods, to the unique and friendly, creative atmosphere, to the heart and humor, this place deserves the award they won for Best Coffee Shop in Central Indiana. read more

Came to work for a little bit and decided to try a new coffee shop in town. The owner, Haley, let me know that they were could not make any espresso. That's fine, it happens, things are out of your control. The reason I'm leaving such a poor review, is that as I was sitting and working, the owner's boyfriend and another patron came in and sat at the bar. I sat listening to the owner, her boyfriend, and this patron discuss politics for a total of 45 minutes before I left. To be clear, there is nothing wrong with civilly discussing politics, but the things that they were saying were enough to make me never want to come back. "I don't want America to have another 9/11, but we need another 9/12." "Kamala supporters don't even know why they're supporting her. They're so sensitive." "People who work in the offices downtown are dumb, you think they're being open-minded?" "Maybe we should cut off someone's hand for stealing" "people always bring up abortion but don't have any other reason to vote for her, and they only bring it up because it makes people emotional." Poor business practice. It honestly wouldn't be if they were more civil about it and didn't have to make digs at others. True show of character. read more

Today was my second visit. The last time I had green tea. This time in addition to tea I tried carrot cake. It was delicious! All treats are made by a local baker. They also have a station for a local peanut butter and jelly business that I remember from the Amp. They are sometimes open for lunch. I don't know if they are there every day or not. Was my first time visiting this business and it was very disappointing. When we walked in there were two workers at the front conversing and dancing around. We were all kind of just standing there and I was wondering whether we were going to be served or not because no one was busy doing anything. The woman who finally took our order put her arms up, showed us her hairy arm pits, and proceeded to touch them with her hands. Didn't sanitize her hands before making our drinks, couple problems about not having the right things to make our order, had to make multiple trips to the basement for products, and when we finally got our drinks they were yuck! They were out of the small cups and used bigger ones. I truly think they filled the difference with milk because that's what our drinks tasted like. I will not be coming back here! I have never been treated so poorly at any other establishment. read more

She was extremely helpful and so nice! Her energy was contagious! The coffee shop features Illumine and helm coffee beans. The PBJ factory from amp food hall opening end of year. If this was coffee shop alone I'd highly recommend and if this was a shop alone I'd highly recommend. The combination piece sets it apart from most anything else in our area. Closest comparison is to what the two chicks district was striving to be (but ultimately much different style to products sold, no separation between shop and coffee bar, overall vibes completely different).
