I had a very uncomfortable experience at Hattie's Coffee Shop. I waited about 35 minutes for a single coffee while watching multiple customers who arrived after me get served and leave within 10-15 minutes. I was the only Black customer in the shop at the time, and the pattern of being repeatedly passed over while others were helped first did not feel random. When I asked about my order, I was told they were "busy," but that didn't match what I was seeing--people were consistently being served ahead of me. Being ignored for that long while others moved through quickly made me feel unwelcome and singled out. Whether intentional or not, the way this was handled came across as discriminatory and needs to be addressed. I hope management takes this seriously, looks into what happened, and ensures that all customers are treated fairly and respectfully. read more

I meant to share this review earlier! I visited Hattie's Coffee House for their Harry Potter outdoor movie night. It seemed like a fun way to spend a fall evening. I expected themed drinks but wow, did they go all out with the decorations and little surprises. They had games like a Horcrux Hunt going on, little wands you could use to turn on and off lights, a super fun photo opportunity area, and people in full costume to greet you! The outdoor movie area had some tables and hay bales. Many brought their own chairs. The screen was a bit small and I wish the parking lot lights had been turned off however, probably not possible and none of that really relates to the coffee shop lol. They pulled off a really lovely event that left me with some great memories and a chance to dive back into childhood nostalgia. Also, those macarons were SO good and my friend loved the themed hot chocolate she got. I know that they do other events from time to time. Hats off to the event planner! You can really tell that Hattie's is a wonderful local spot just by the friendly atmosphere and staff that seem to know the regulars and greet the customers when they walk in. This place was very busy and it was great to see that! Located in an old farm house, it's very charming and reminded me of something the Gilmore Girls would have loved. I had the Hey Pumpkin seasonal iced latte and it was excellent- not too sweet and a nice balance of all the fall flavors. Hattie's is an absolutely adorable renovated home in Whitestown! They have seating out front, to the side with picnic tables and all indoors. This is a beautiful remodel and very clean. The staff is incredibly kind and I love all of the items they have for sale from honey, mugs, clothing, candles, etc. I made a custom drink but it's by far one of the greatest coffee drinks I've had! After hearing about this coffee spot we decided to make the drive up and it was so worth it. We went on a Thursday morning around 8:30am. Most parking spots were full but spots opened pretty quickly as people only came for a coffee. We ordered the pumpkin spice latte (hot) and the maple syrup cold foam cold brew, and a muffin. Quick and friendly service. The muffin was delicious and the coffee was wonderful. The inside was so beautiful and had a minimalist farmhouse vibe. A perfect dose to study, work, or just have a chat with friends. There was an outdoor area and I believe here may have been more seating upstairs. This is the most insanely overpriced coffee I have ever sipped. I am still in shock. Nearly ten bucks for my basic macadamia latte with nut milk, did they craft the ingredients all in house? No, the syrups are pumped from plastic bottles. Are they making their own cashew milk like Provider in times past providing a perfectionist treat to the pallet? Well not that either. Single origin coffee using some specialty low volume roastery, you know the answer already. I'm boggled in the mind how anyone can come here on purpose to drop double the cash a Panera Bread latte costs. Been wanting to try this place for a while. Came on a Saturday morning around 9 am. Smallish parking lot and there were no spaces. We were going to leave but then a spot opened up. The inside is a bit smaller but nice. There is an upstairs with a large table that seats about 10 and some nice wingback chairs. Not sure if we were supposed to but we sat upstairs all by ourselves. As for the coffee, my wife liked her Iced Vanilla Latte and I thought my Mocha was good, a bit weak but still tasty. The cranberry muffin was good. I just adore this little coffee shop! I've been here a couple times and there's always plenty of seating. Now that the weather is getting nicer I highly recommend grabbing one of the tables outside. Super cute coffee shop that is located in a renovated house. Maple parking AND a fire pit AND a playground in the back! What more could you want. Perfect to bring the kids along. The clerks are super friendly and helpful. It was too hot outside for coffee, so I ordered a La Croix and a bagel with cream cheese. My granddaughter found a bag of Goldfish to snack on. They offer a small menu of breakfast items. We climbed into comfy chairs and awaited for our bagel. The bagel came out toasted with a perfect amount of cream cheese. The bagel did not taste freshly baked, but was ok. There is a little gift area that sells local honey, Hattie themed logo wear, artisan cards and more. There is parking for about 16 cars. I'm so impressed. First of all, the building looks great and the decor is lovely. The staff was incredibly kind. What a cute place! I am never in the Whitestown area as I live closer to downtown, but at the start of a road trip, I popped in here looking for something a more local than Starbucks. I am kind of picky when it comes to my coffee, especially how sweet they are. I love a little flavor, but not too much syrup. These guys hit it right on the head! This is especially hard to find in seasonal drinks, but I took a risk and I really loved it. I took my first sip of the drink and had to post immediately. They waited 80 minutes in line on opening day and still said it was worth it to support local. The parking lot wraps around the building with the entrance on the north side. Modern farmhouse vibes in and out. Two rooms allow for work or chatting and there's an upstairs that currently can be rented out for conference. Word is the upstairs will eventually turn into a public space as well. Walked up to the counter and the staff were very cheerful and helpful. This is SUCH a cute new little coffee shop in Whitestown. I love the cozy home atmosphere and the friendly people that work here. I have been here a few times since their grand opening and love seeing them figure out their groove and I have never seen less than 10 people here at a time. They are always busy but they have plenty of seating. I just wish they had more parking but there are many walking distance spots to park and I know they can't do much about the parking. A few friends and I met up here for coffee and a meeting. The atmosphere is so cute and homey at Hatties. It was younger staff working but they were all very kind and polite. You can tell that service is something Hatties cares about for their customers. The coffee was very good too and while we did not order any food it looked delicious from others that had. They also had some baked goods that looked yummy. Our only complaint was the music in both sitting areas was very loud and hard to hear each other talk sometimes.
