This is usually a great event and my family used to be one of the long time vendors. I look forward…read moreto attending every year but this year had a VERY unnerving experience in their outdoor, 21 and over beer garden. My fiancé and I were accosted by a guy wearing a 3 foot long broad sword after he poured beer all over her foot. He approached us in a threatening manner, holding his hand on his sword when we were trying to leave asking us if we had a problem. He encroached on my personal space where I stated for him to back up out of at least twice. I yelled for security at least three times to no avail. Luckily a person sitting next to the event stepped in so we could leave. After informing the security guy what happened who was checking id's at the gate he called someone else over and he and the other individual went to take care of it and talk to the person. This is advertised as a safe family friendly event however this was definitely not the case in this scenario. The security guys seemed understaffed by the amount of people. I think they did a good job at the gate but there was no way a person should be calling for security in that environment and not have someone able to respond. Since carrying weapons that can cause bodily harm or death into a 21 and over beer garden is unlawful in Washington state (RCW 9.41.300) I'd like to see more security at this event and better training. Even have the police that are on the grounds patrol inside the beer gardens so this doesn't occur to anyone else. Really put a severe damper on the whole day. We paid for two days and won't be going back for the second.

Shoutout to Sophia and our guide Matthew for a great hiking trip!…read more I visited Seattle with the guys and we wanted to take advantage of the city's easy access to scenic landscapes. Adventures In Seattle (AIS) seemed like the best option for a hiking tour. They were fairly priced, provided gear/food/transport, and were led by experienced local guides. That's right! No need for a rental car. They pick you up right from your hotel/Airbnb and also drop you back off. Furthermore, AIS equipped us with technical backpacks, hiking poles, lunch, snacks, and extra water. Our experience was not without challenges. Mainly, we were forced to change plans 1.5 weeks out and pivot away from our 1st choice hike due to poor road conditions. Sophia presented us with some alternative hikes and let us decide. Moreover, we were allowed to tailor the hike somewhat to meet our needs. I was receiving all of my information 2nd hand, so I decided to call up Sophia myself. She was incredibly helpful explaining the situation, answered all of my questions regarding our alternatives as well the services they provided, and offered recommendations/tips to prepare for the hike. Matthew was also a pleasure to work with! He arrived at our AirBnb at our predetermined time (he was actually a tad early, but I will happily take that over tardiness). Matthew drove us from Seattle to a small town for food/rest, and then to Mt. Rainier National Park. When we arrived, he made sure we were all prepared to our hike. Matthew was great at explaining all of the sights and let us take enough rest breaks on our way up. He was an excellent guide. If you're looking for a hiking tour in the area, Adventures In Seattle is a great choice! I highly recommend them and will consider booking another tour next time I'm in Seattle.

Sophia is fabulous!!!…read more My friend and I were looking to do an one day outdoor activity not too far away from Seattle and we contacted Sophia based on the review on Yelp and Trip Advisor. We decided to do a day hike to Gold Myer Hot Springs and it was fantastic! Sophia picked us up at 8:30am in the South Lake Union, she had everything ready for us such as lunch and equipment. It wasn't a long drive out of Seattle, we just wasn't lucky with the weather as it was raining the whole day. I was so relieved when she told me she has an extra pair of waterproof pants I can borrow, cuz I was wearing a pair of jeans which would make me miserable walking in the rain. The hike itself was a 6 mile easy hike (one way), mostly flat, even though it was raining, the scenery was gorgeous! At the end of the hike, we arrived at the natural hot springs, we were really lucky that the whole hot springs were for ourselves and we spent quite a bit of time there recharging energy! After hiking another 6 mile back to the car, Sophia drove us back to SLU, the whole trip was hassle free and Sophia was such a great guide, she was so friendly and interesting to talk to, always checking how we are feeling to make sure that we are not too cold or tired. We really enjoyed the day out and will definitely do other activities with Sophia again, highly recommended!!!

I'm not going to lie, I mostly enjoy the food. I never skip out on munching on the kettle corn throughout the park. Corn on the cob is a favorite too! They serve coffee at their little coffee shop, ice cream, beer, hamburger, hot dogs, corn dogs, bbq, fries... Access to Porter potties and also changing room for babies. They changed it up this time though and so I removed a star. Last time our entrance fee came with a free flower we could pick. Not anymore and they kept the price the same. They did add access to a butterfly exhibit but you have to pay $10 to release one. There's a lot of extra stuff you have to pay for if you want to partake. Last time, some Avengers were walking around. This time, it was Alice in Wonderland theme. Check out their website for who will be there :) The venders were my least favorite NGL. Crotchet and 3D printing stuff. Not my thing. Probably like 7 vendors and nothing was worth it for me personally. Last time they had a candle guy there who I supported but this time it was a let down with the weird trinket stuff. There's face painting for a price! You can feed animals (for an extra price) and launch apples at targets (you guessed it, for an extra price). My kids favorite activity was the bubble station and the tube slide. Oh yeah, and this time they had the corn mazes closed. Same entry price though.

Also, the pillow balloon jump popped on the day we were there. With that said, there are still lots of activities included in the admission - feeding the goat, obstacle course, zipline, tube riding, tractor ride, animal petting... You can definitely spend at several hours if not longer with kiddos age 3 and older. Tip - follow them on IG, and by admission ticket during the one-day BOGO sale.
