Not only is she a pleasant, attentive and knowledgeable aesthetician who provides the best massages (I never want it to end!), but she also takes the time to research ingredients in skincare products before using them on her clients. Hands down one of the best facials I've ever had in my life. Dara is a true professional and you…read morewill see results! She starts by talking to you about your skin concerns and and then does a complete analysis of your skin as she starts cleansing. Taking into account your concerns with her observations, she tailors the facial to address both. She cleanses and exfoliates a couple times and includes really indulgent masks that feel luxurious on the skin. She also gets elbow deep with her extractions, and times herself each time to track the progress of your skin and its resilience. Having started monthly facials with her several months ago, I have seen a noticeable difference in my skin. It is brighter and more even toned and my pores along the bridge of my nose have shrunk (something I have only experienced with chemical peels). The Yonka skincare line that she carries is a really effective brand to incorporate at home in between your facials. Make an appointment with Dara post haste if you want a noticeably softer, smoother, and younger appearance. You won't regret it!

I began laser treatments with Masami approximately four months ago - I wanted my (many) fine…read morelines/wrinkles diminished as well as my "Hawaii" sun spots lightened/removed. I had been using retinol serums (both over the counter and prescription) for years but the redness and skin irritation from the retinoids wasn't resulting in any significant positive improvements. During my consultation, Masami explained the process, showed before and after photos (anonymous) and discussed her credentialing. (Note that she is conveniently located in Waikiki in an urgent care clinic - the room she uses is extremely private.) She did not oversell her services or products - she was very matter-of-fact, discussed my responsibility (sunscreen and hats!), and was extremely knowledgeable concerning skin care (and she has absolutely gorgeous skin btw!). She was clear that I would need to come every couple of weeks for 7+ treatments to see good results. I've just completed visit 8 with Masami. My treatment includes a laser treatment of my face followed by a Vitamin C treatment. I also have the tops of my hands treated with the laser. The visit lasts approximately one hour. The room is pleasant, soothing music plays and the treatment is so painless I tend to drift off (a nice afternoon nap with benefits!). My skin is not red or painful when finished - I can immediately run errands, etc. I am seeing good, gradual results - my skin is definitely smoother, my spots are lightening, and the lines are diminishing. Masami takes photos at every session so we can track and assess progress at the beginning of each session. After finishing my first 7 sessions, I signed up for a second set of 7 - the progress is gradual but it is pleasant (and easy!) progress for me - NO reddening, peeling, irritation, chemical injections, etc. I now use only soap to wash my face (inexpensive powder soap recommended by Masami) as well as a high-grade petroleum jelly on my face if any moisture is needed (also recommended by Masami) - no more expensive products or dermatologist visits, etc. Seriously. No more products. I'm continuing the treatments and will post photos.

I visited Goddess Aesthetics for the first time yesterday because my hair stylist Leah Frankson…read morerecently started working there. It has a dedicated hair salon area there, which you wouldn't know from the name of the business, but hopefully the word will get out soon. Leah is an artist, and deserves recognition in Hawaii. I have followed Leah from her first salon in Kapahulu, to her transfer to a Kailua salon, and finally, to Goddess Aesthetics. I live in East Honolulu, so it is quite the drive across the Pali Hwy, especially with traffic, to have my hair cut. I've done this for the past couple of years because she is worth it. She is the only stylist I've found on Oahu who consistently gives me natural root touch ups (my hair is an Asian brown-black) and beautiful layered haircuts that suit my face shape. I had despaired of finding a hairstylist I could trust, after living in NYC for two decades. I had less than ideal cut&colors in different salons on the island until I found Leah. After my first visit, I knew she was it. It was a relief to find her, and I will follow her wherever she roams on this island. Please don't ever leave Hawaii, Leah!

She was so patient and thoughtful and really took her time to look at my skin, asked questions, and explained what she was doing in a way that didn't sound like a skincare lecture. She even gave me personalized tips and product recs that made sense for MY skin (and not like those "just buy this $300 serum" kind of suggestions). And let me tell you... when I looked in the mirror afterward ... WOW!! My skin was glowing. Like, actually glowing. Soft, hydrated, smooth! I legit caught myself touching my face all day and even in the days after. I haven't seen my skin look this good in forever. Angela's the real deal!! I came in expecting to receive around 40 units or more based on past experience, but she ended up doing just 25. I could tell she knew exactly what was best, even without overexplaining. That kind of integrity is rare. Most providers would have taken the higher number without question, but Dr. Schaefer clearly prioritizes a natural, beautiful result and not overselling. The entire experience felt ethical, calming, and tailored to me. I left this appointment confident that I got exactly what I needed and nothing I didn't. I'm also glad she went the minimal route this time, and if I feel like I need more in two weeks, I can always come back. I'd much rather have that than be over-injected the way I have been in the past. I'm so grateful I found her, and I won't be going anywhere else. Highly recommend, especially if you want results that are elegant, authentic, and delivered with care.

When I walked to the front to pay I was told 3x that price, over $300. Obviously I was shocked and objected, but I was met with a condescending tone. I was told that there must have been a misunderstanding on my part and that I was told Botox units. Even though I was Sure I clarified the dose and pricing prior to injection. The women continued to repeat herself over and over in a rude manner stating there was nothing she could do and that technically I was given $5 a unit but for 60 units not 20. So beware they dose in Botox units no matter which product they provide to you and even if you clarify the price and dosing they will change it on you before you check out. This is deception marketing. This strategy is to confuse you and require you to do the math at bedside to figure out your actual cost. Huge disappointment.
