I found skin technology after falling in love with PCA skin Care products which have truly been a blessing for my acne prone skin. I literally called about 15 different spa locations in OC and nobody carried the products with the exception of Skin technology. Melody was so polite and helpful to answering all of my questions. I buy all of my products from them and they are so knowledgeable. Recently I made an appointment for a Microdermabrasion facial with a PCA Skin Peel with Melody. They are so amazing that they are usually booked so I would recommend to reserve far in advance. She was so kind to offer to come in early for my booking when I called with such short notice of a reservation. Melody was so honest about my skin condition and what products I would need. 2 weeks later my skin and blemishes are noticeably 50% clearer. She was even kind enough to give me vitamin E samples after my skin was allergic to the Vitamin A in the PCA retinol cream. Skin Technology is one of the few places I trust with my skin. They offer reasonable prices for their services. They are flexible with scheduling but very popular so book in advance. They are simply amazing and I couldn't say enough great things about it. Honestly I've been meaning to leave this review for awhile. I used to have a lot of acne on my forehead and chin but not enough to get prescription and it really bothered me. I tried a bunch of products from charcoal face masks to acne face wash and they wouldn't go away. Thanks to Melody my face is finally clear with occasional pimples popping up. She always considers everything I need and is very thoughtful. I went ahead and tried some of the products she recommended as well and I barely have to do any routine at home thanks to them. She got rid of all the old acne scars and even the huge one from a cystic acne I had to get removed. I've been coming here since February and it's helped a bunch. ***UPDATE !*** 09/13/2017 After reading my review a day after it was posted, Melody immediately contacted me and offered up various resolution to the issue. I found this impressive as it shows that she is committed to ensuring that every client she has is satisfy with her service and that she truly cares about her business. The way that Melody handled the situation was very professional and I have to say that I was beyond impressed. She managed to turn a bad situation into not only a positive, but dare I say... I can definitely see myself returning and giving Skin Technology a second chance. Everyone makes mistake and sometimes things are not communicated clearly, but the willingness to resolve issues is what makes Melody stand out from the crowd. Therefore, I would recommend this place to anyone BECAUSE of her commitment and work ethics to make sure that everyone walks out satisfy. You'll not leave this place unhappy (and if like me), she will work with you to see how the situation can be remedied. ----- My experience with Melody was mediocre at best. First off, let me just say that she is very nice and pleasant to talk to. Sadly, that's all the positive I can say about my experience. I came in for a Hydrafacial expecting it to last one hour as stated on her website. The "facial" (if you can call it that) last exactly 22 minutes - I timed it on my phone. For the price that I was paying - $185 - this was definitely not worth it at all. I even encouraged her to give me add ons thinking that the facial was going to be spectacular based on her reviews; I have gotten facials before plenty of times and her service does not even mediocrely compare to those of low end facilities. She tried to make the time seem longer by giving me an inadequate neck massage (no face at all) that consist of two second rub and 30 second no movement. You'll not feel pampered whatsoever at this place. She needs to make the Yelp offer more clear. It is a smoke and mirror form of deception intended to make you think you're paying less than what you will actually be paying. What is vague is that on Yelp, it clearly offers both a complimentary peel & 15% off. When you come in however, it's a different story. She'll offer you one or the other. She gave me a 'complementary' Hi-Frequency treatment that she stated was $20 after I told her that I came from Yelp. There was no mention of this until she was charging me. It is most likely that she knows about people who come from Yelp will always know of the discount and prepares to offer up what seems like complementary services only to add them on to your bill should you mention anything about a discount that is stated on her site afterwards. So basically, what was complementary was just added to the total and then subtracted 15% to make it appear that she gives a discount. For the price I was paying before discount ($185), the facial was 22 minutes and the extra charge, I absolutely cannot recommend anyone coming to this place. The only discount I got was the complementary service that I thought was just that - complementary - that she will add on knowing that she will charge you for it after. I have gotten Hydrafacials before and hers was not anything different that warranted the price tag nor the short time that she actually worked on my face. I wished I never would have gone and I don't want people to think that this place is worth it at all. *Side note: Just know that if her site said to give yourself an hour to go - you only need 22 minutes. I wonder if I had gotten a 30 minutes facial, it probably would have last less then 10 minutes. read more

I trusted this technology for my facial services and had 1 facial service. It was really good. I really liked the service and planned to refer my husband as well. There was some confusion in the followup appointment and 1st appointment for my husband. Somehow timing could not work out and we planned to cancel one appointment ahead of time. Somehow it ended up of canceling another appointment also by services as she took other appointments in place of us. After follow up to get another appointment, there is no reply. read more

Unfortunately, Melody wasn't available to make an appointment with on short notice I still wanted to give her establishment a try because of the ratings. My main concern for my first facial here is to get rid of my awful blackheads and everything else is just a bonus since I don't suffer from acne but I do have redness/scarring. I made it clear that I wanted my blackheads gone when I was consulting with the available esthetician Eli (nice lady) to see what type of facial would be best for my skin. She suggested deep cleansing, hydrafacial with glycolic acid and a brightening add on.. I went with her professional advice and afterwards my blackheads were still there!! Paying $145 not including tip you would think that your main concern blackheads, which should show instant results when simply steamed and extracted. Instead I was recommended with a facial that had many other great benefits which I don't mind but my one main concern was not addressed adequately. Maybe my experience wasn't that pleasing because it wasn't with Melody so I'm hoping that my next visit with Melody will convince me that this place isn't just mediocre. read more

I am only 22 but when I found my first two wrinkles I completely freaked out. I called a variety of places but after talking on the phone with Melody I was convinced to try Skin Technology. She was the most knowledgeable on my problem and incredibly nice. I made an appointment for the next day. When I came in she gave a thorough examination of my skin and was genuinely interested in helping me. She did a variety of treatments specific for my skin problems plus microdermabrasian. By the end of it I felt so refreshed and my skin albeit a little red looked amazing, no more blackheads, and my two wrinkles were substantially faded (although not gone yet she said with proper skin care they will fade more.) I think what really impressed me the most though was their emphasis on customization. Everyone has different skin so a set menu may not be the best for all skin types. I am proud to say that this is my very first review and it is only because Melody at Skin Technology is awesome!! I have been going here since at least 2008 ish and been regularly seeing her. yes granted I have missed few months here and there and like many sometimes $ can be a little tight. But I always do my best to get my facials and microderms and definitely keep up with my maintenance cleanses/exfoliatations/ purifying mask at home with her PCA products. She is an awesome esthetician and great listener. She examines your skin and makes recommendations but never up- sells. She even tries out different products that she learns about at workshops and peels if you feel like having one and if your skin needs it at that time. I found Melody when I was looking on line for anything to rehydrate my extremely dry skin. I came across a website for Hydra facial and it looked like exactly what I needed. Not many places offer this but I found Melody and Skin Technology and made an appointment. I was so very happy with the results and the recommendations that Melody made. My acne flared up at the start of summer, worse than it had ever been, and nothing I could buy at the store was working. Going to Melody was my last shot at clearing up my face, and I really wish I had gone sooner. After about four visits, and many treatments (including painful, yet needed extractions) over a month-long period, I no longer break out and my skin is a lot smoother and cleaner. It turned out that I have cystic acne, and with antibiotics and the regimen of creams and serums she put me on,I cannot believe how much Melody cleaned up my face. Still, much of it worked because I did exactly what she told me to and stuck to the regimen. I now only have some scarring that is fading, and I expect to fade over the months. Everything done was pricey on my student budget, but my skin is a lot healthier because of it. read more

Melody is a miracle worker! I broke out with adult acne about 4 years ago. I would consistently have angry breakouts at least 3 our of 4 weeks of the month. I tried everything over the last 4 years. I went to a well respected dermatologist and was on antibiotics and different topical treatments for over a year. The only treatment I refused was Accutane. As the dermatologist started to lessen the intensity of the antibiotics (because I didn't want to be on antibiotics forever) my acne immediately came back. I finally gave up and then tried ProActive, tried different eating patterns (no dairy, no sugar) and even went to a different acne facialist in South Orange County. While there were minor improvements throughout, nothing was consistently effective and nothing fully cleared up my skin. Finally, I found Melody. I have been seeing her for 4 months and my skin has been consistently clear and looks better than it ever has. She is extremely knowledgeable, personable and understanding.
