I've been going to Melondy for close to a year already and my family and friends have been saying my skin looks great. I've been having acne issues here and there and so I go to Melondy to get microderm, peels, extraction, etc. and I've always been satisfied with results. I've gone to other places and have had one or two bad experience with either redness or bad breakout but not with Melondy. As for the other reviews that didn't give her such great reviews I think it's only fair to point out that they were misunderstandings or customer service issues so don't let that affect your decision in giving her a try as everyone's perception is different. If you get facials regularly you'll appreciate Melondy as I've switched many estheticians and I love going to her because I know she'll recommend what is only needed for my skin, she is flexible on schedule, and if you don't want to go over a certain price, she'll work with you on it. Had a nice facial on 3-1-11 with Melody. This is the end of a Groupon coupon that is expiring this week, and Melody was very kind to fit me in at the last minute, since I'd had trouble getting in previously. She also asked a lot of questions, offered a lot of options, and answered all of my questions. She was understanding when I declined the additional services she suggested, and offered alternatives. I chose the ClairiSonic brush over micro-dermabrasion, and it was very nice, and I may buy one from her later. The mask she put on with a nice brush was very soothing, and her room, while small, was quiet, with good music and she has very good vibes. She said she's been working out of the same room for 10 years, and with the depth of knowledge she showed me today, I believe her! So, go get a facial, even if you can't afford all the bells and whistles, the basic one I got, she says is around $70, usually. While not the cheapest I've seen out there, it's not the highest either, and if you are local, it's great to have a place around the corner. I noticed they also do hair, but not massage. read more

One of the best facials I've ever gotten. I came here a couple years ago when my skin was black headed ridden and Melody did an amazing job of clearing it up. Recently though my whole face was covered in acne. After twenty five years of acne free skin, one week my entire face exploded with pimples. I mean it was completely covered in pimples. I was horrified after trying everything from natural options like aloe vera to other places for facials the acne just wouldn't go away. So I booked an appointment with Natasha. She spent almost two hours on my skin using microdermabrasian, a chemical peel and probably the most painless extractions I've ever gotten. By the end of it my face was pretty red but already looked a lot better. A few months later the acne is almost all gone! Pore Whisperer. Ok, so I tired to book an appointment with famous Eva, however, when I found out she was booked until the end of the year, I realized my congested pores couldn't wait that long!!! So i found Melody. Let me preface this review by stating that I am a pain in the ass. I acknowledge this. But this woman is amazing. She and i had a conversation before we started about my diet, medications, daily regime, work out schedule... everything. She felt my skin and had looked at it under a giant magnifying glass. She was able to tell me what was going on with my skin. She explained it really well... and it made sense. then she gave me 'the scrub' and asked me to feel my skin. Holy Sh*t it was so soft. As a new client I got a peel for free. I also had microdermabrasion performed. My appointment lasted a little over an hour and cost $115!!!!!!! about $85 dollars LESS than what I normally pay. I left with plump, dewy skin. Yea, the place doesn't look like the four seasons but you get a four season facial for 1/3rd of the price by a seasoned (12 years at this location) esthetician. I am hesitant to even post this because I might have to shank someone if I have to wait until the end of the year for another facial from Melody! read more

After reading great reviews on Citysearch, I decided to book an appointment with Melody at Skin Technology. Melody was actually on maternity leave so Maria did my facial instead, but Melody assured me that Maria had been her student for awhile now and uses all the same techniques and skincare products as she does. I liked how she made me fill out a survey about my skin prior to the facial so I could let her know exactly what problem areas I was trying to target. Then, she sat me down and briefly told me what she thought my skin needed and what she wanted to do during the facial. I really appreciated this because it made me feel at ease and I feel that having communication with your esthetician is really important (and I like to get the communication out of the way first, so I can relax and fully enjoy the facial!) The facial was really soothing. She did multiple cleanses, extractions, a mask, high frequency (which is the machine that makes little spark-y noises that they use to close your pores and dis-infect your skin), plus she did a complimentary exfoliation which she says she likes to do for all first-time clients. The whole facial lasted for an hour and a half and was $70, except I added microdermabrasion so it came out to be $115. This was really reasonable considering it was longer than my usual facials at Skin Deep. Afterwards, I got to meet Melody and both her and Maria recommended some products for me to try. My skin feels so hydrated right now and my complexion looks a little better than before. I've booked my next appointment with Maria already and I can't wait to go back in a month. read more

I have seen Melody twice now for my hydrafacial and I absolutely love it! My skin glows and is so hydrated. Melody will assess your skin and measure your hydration level. She also will give you a facial depending on what you need so each time may be different. I recently bought the hydrafacial products so it prolongs my in office treatment and the use of it is followed by compliments on how glowy and great my skin looks! I agree with Grace (previous reviewer). It was my first time there - It's not a fancy smansy spa, but the service is excellent! I booked an appointment with Terry yesterday. I also filled out a survey and Terry asked me some questions and assessed my skin as she started the facial. We talked most of the time about types of face products and I asked a bunch of questions. She is so knowledgable and you can tell she wants to help her clients. She also did multiple cleanses, exfoliation, extractions, and a mask. She likes using analogies so you can better understand skin and their various facials/ services. She's not pushy at all with trying to sell you any additional services or products. The facial I got was $70 but I ended up buying them anyway! t's the next morning and my skin feels a lot better than it did the other day! I will definitely be back! read more

I found good reviews about Melody so called her and was able to make an appointment the same day. She was very nice and professional on the phone so that was a great start. During my visit, Melody was very easy to work with. I have had some bad experiences in the past with brows being too thin or being burned by wax. Melody patiently listened to my concerns and did a great job! As others have mentioned, Melody will let you know what you need and not up sell you. Before I left, she mentioned that she could do a skin consultation for me if I were interested in the future. I had not really thought highly of facials after a bad experience post-college -- (see a trend here? :) . A year later, I was engaged and starting to plan for the wedding so I decided to do the consultation with Melody. She came up with a plan (including which products to use) that worked in my budget. Here are some unsolicited comments from my wedding vendors which should give you a very good idea of Melody's skill: * Wedding planner - after one microderm session, I saw my WP right after. She was surprised that I had just had a micro because my skin did not look irritated at all. * Makeup artist - I saw her for the practice session early in my treatments with Melody. When she saw me on my wedding day, she commented how my skin looked great/different! More recently, my younger sister worked with Melody for a couple of months while she was in CA for the summer. Between college stress and some bad Neutrogena product, my sister's skin had a major breakout in the last half of her freshman year (we're talking before pictures in the acne commercials - sorry Sis!). She heard me talk about Melody and I guess she thought my skin looked good ;) so she wanted to contact Melody. My sister wanted to pay for her own treatments so Melody again did a great job of working within her client's budget, timeline and needs. It was AMAZING the results Melody produced -- I think she surprised herself! :) My sister's skin has been doing great since she followed Melody's plan. One thing you should know is that Melody's place is no frills (aka, it's not a spa and it is located in a strip mall) but she is wonderful to work with and gets results. I see I wrote a review in 2011! I figured its time to update. I'm STILL going to Melody regularly. Its been almost 10 years and as I age (gracefully thanks to Melody) I have tried new treatments. My favorite these days is the HydraFacial! I used to get regular Microderm treatments but Melody suggested that a HydraFacial might be better now for my "older" skin. She was right! My skin feels hydrated, slightly plumped and rejuvenated. HydraFacial combines a hydradermabrasion (so I get the micro derm), a peptide infusion, and a peel - all in one treatment. I love how young, fresh and vibrant my face looks after treatment. Melody, I'm turning 50 this week and having you in my life to help my skin is the best b-day present I could ask for!
