TL;DR - If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Meagan is INCREDIBLE. I got a facial with her for the first time yesterday and my skin is feeling AMAZING. Run, don't walk, to make an appointment. I've been looking at starting to get facials on the regular since I am 2 years out from my wedding, but I was super hesitant because I have facial eczema and sensitive skin in general. After some research and getting some rave reviews from a couple of acquaintances of mine, I booked an appointment with Meagan. I asked specifically if she had experience dealing with eczema, and she does, extensively. I love that her philosophy is to help support your skin holistically so it can regain its self-healing/self-care functions, which seems so different from most other facialists I've seen. She also tiers her facials by time, not by technique/treatment, which is great. The (very stylish) space she works out of is shared by other aestheticians but her room is completely private and has such a clean, relaxing, cozy vibe. The bed you lay on is super comfy and warm, and the music is relaxing as well. She starts off by going through a very comprehensive survey of your health, current skincare routine, what results you want to achieve with your facials, and even "what do you love about your skin?" which is such a radical question for a facialist to ask (love it!). Based on this, she customized my entire treatment - and she does that for every single client. She uses multiple modalities, techniques, and products. All the products she uses are so natural and from great companies. My favorite part of the treatment was the masking. She blends from scratch a bespoke mask blend specifically for your skin needs. Meagan constantly checks in to make sure that you're feeling great and to make sure there's no discomfort. If you're not sure if what you're feeling is the norm, you can ask without hesitation and Meagan will let you know if it is ("you should be feeling tingling, but not burning, and if you feel burning let me know ASAP so we can take it off"). I felt SOOO relaxed afterwards. She explained in detail what to expect for the next few days in terms of "recovery" (which really there isn't much, just make sure to bring a hat with you to keep the sun rays off your face), and skin care suggestions she has. She does NOT pressure you to book immediately afterwards, which I find refreshing as well. As promised, 4 hours later the flushing in my skin calmed down and I was GLOWING. Seriously. My skin has NEVER looked this good and my eczema did not flare at all. It's the next day and it's STILL glowing. Like WOW. My skin has been having issues holding hydration as well and this is literally the best long-term hydrated it's been since... ever?! I've already booked my next appointment and it's definitely worth the investment. Anyway, if you haven't booked with her already, do it now. You won't regret it! read more
