In about a month's time, Vanessa changed my life and made me feel more confident about my skin. She took away the anxiety of me always having to run to a mirror to check if I was growing a white head, had flaking skin around a zit, or crusted blood/ooze on my face around where I would break out. Sorry for the nasty descriptors, but that was my reality for so many years! I am in shock her suggestions took about 4-6 weeks for me to see results. It sounds crazy even to me, but I promise I'm a real person who had crazy skin issues and Vanessa helped me! Here's my skin journey story and the ways Vanessa helped me. I went to see Vanessa after five years of having breakouts on my chin and around my mouth only in the follicles where my beard hairs grow. From the ages of 22 to 25, my beard hair grew in thicker and I simply figured I was just prone to acne or ingrown hairs. I started to tell myself this is just natural for me and I'll have to live with it. I tried all the over the counter products and had little result. For a while, my skin would get semi-better but my skin would simply just be dried out and my skin would never be 100% acne free. I also did a ton of homemade remedies with essential oils, argan oils, coconut oils, sugar scrubs, and so many more! I played with the idea that maybe I'd one day laser hair removal to remove my beard hair so I could get rid of having the hairs I thought were causing the breakouts. I also tried to treat my skin from the inside hoping that diet, exercise, and healthy lifestyle would have a positive impact. I ate a more plant-based diet, more whole-foods based diet, tried to improve my sleep patterns, and did yoga and workouts in my free time. I even tried to speak nicer words to people because I thought I was maybe experiencing some sort of karmic retribution for speaking unkind words that manifested in acne around my chin and mouth area. Although a lot of this helped me feel better physically and mentally, I did not see improvement in my skin and it continued to get worse. Vanessa gave me a wonderful facial and suggested I start using Osmosis brand products to treat what she termed a potential form of folliculitis rather than traditional acne. She gave me an charcoal-based pill to take daily and facial serums. She suggested treating the impurities both internally and externally. I asked her what impurities she thought I had, and she explained to me that there are many chemicals and toxins we are exposed to daily from things like the foods we eat, the water we use to shower, the beauty products we use, etc. As of writing this review, I'm about two months into using the recommended skincare regime and I am 99% acne free. I've been break out free, smoother-skinned, and my scaring is beginning to fade from deep purple-red color to a lighter skin-tone color. I used to not be able to shave with a razor blade razor because they used to nick my bumps and make them bleed. I could only use an electric razor. I haven't yet used a traditional razor because I actually like the electric razor I have, but I think I could use one now because my bumps are gone. I am so grateful to have met Vanessa. I've seen Vanessa twice. I am pregnant and have been breaking out all over my face, neck, and back. The first thing she did was make sure I was comfortable for the entire session. I had both a back facial and regular facial. Each facial was customized for my particular situation. She communicated throughout the facial and made suggestions of different things I could try to keep the inflammation down at home. She also gave me some samples to try. Then at 11:15 AM day off the facial my appointment was cancelled. When I called to ask why I was told "an existing client who pays full price was running late so they can't help me." Super unprofessional and degrading. Because I booked though and app the business chose to use, and chooses their prices on there I don't deserve service.
