I found a Groupon for Juvéderm with Skin Science for $394. I called and double checked with them and they said don't purchase the Groupon that they would honor the price. So I went to my appointment and met with the very kind Dr first and then met with Carrie who was my injector. She had me ice my lips first and then walked me through exactly how and where she would inject. The Juvéderm was still in the carton which she opened up in front of me. I chose Juvéderm Ultra Plus since I was looking for a more pouty full look. With each injection, she had me check in the mirror to make sure I was satisfied and to stop if I felt it was enough. I felt extremely comfortable with her. My lips turned out beautiful and I recommend Skin Science for all your skin care needs! read more

Two-stars is only given because the facility was clean and the appointment went on time. This photo is taken 13 DAYS AFTER my injection. I have been getting juvederm-ultra for the past 2 1/2 years- never had an experience like this! A giant clump, goiter-size, in both my upper right lip and lower-mid lip. Small bumps are understandable, these are GIANT! She injected (5) times total- obvious imbalance if you look at picture. My past guru would inject at least 8-10 times to make sure they were PERFECTION. They want you in-and-out at this place! Aesthetically displeasing and distracting. Owner/injector DO NOT care about patients results- only up-selling product! Requested to do half a syringe- got pushed into doing a whole one one. I've been to two AMAZING dermas who would only do half-syringe at a time because they didn't want customer to hate results!! Not intimidate them by forcing a $60 service-fee when you already pay upward of $600 for service. The place is really pretty. You feel happy when you walk in, very accomdiating with drinks and snacks. What im dissatisfied with is my entire service outcome I got the whole syringe, took before and afters, I see no difference. Told doc i was unhappy. No one cares. Even called back, just curious what i paid nearly 400 dollars for...? He said. Ill be happy to give you a "25%" discount next time you come in. Haha Haha. Beware!! The goal of this place is to separate you from your $$ not to provide a quality service. They have several one-star reviews for a reason. My experience at SKIN SCIENCE LLC was unbelievably disappointing. I was told Allergen recommends 50 units, thus, I "trusted " and had 50 units of Botox. The most I ever had previously (for 20 years!!!) was 35!! So, I had more units, yet an incredibly disappointing result! (I mentioned this at least 3 times to the Owners and the "Injector" and it fell on deaf ears.) When I returned to get the problem "fixed." I had 6 more units at a cost of $72.00. WOW!!! So now the total cost this session of botox is close to $600.00. I felt like a profit center for Skin Science. The scam is luring you into the web with a promotion rate, Groupon coupon, etc., yet, ultimately, shortchanging you. By the way, the "Injector" operates on "automatic' rather than paying attention to your individual needs. The first sign...look at her over-injected face! I purchased a groupon for Skin Science, gave them a call and submitted my information online. It took over 1 month for someone to reach out to me. I was then informed that for a full bikini area laser removal treatment there were only male technicians and that they didn't list this information on the Groupon "because they wouldn't sell as many". Had hair removal - Total fail. Had BBL and he burnt my face horribly. My face was so swollen, I did not leave the house for over a week and had to ice my face for days. It has destroyed the texture of my face and my skin is horrible and saggy now. He actually had me go into a side area so the people in the lobby would not see me. I had 6 laser hair removal treatments done with skin science. Staff seemed friendly, consultation was all of 5 minutes. I had decent results after my first treatment including thinner hair growth and completed all treatments and followed all given instructions. However, my issue was after I stopped the treatments. A few weeks after my last laser treatment I found that all my hair was growing back. In fact, I didn't have hair removal- My hairs were just all ingrown. You can imagine how upset I was after investing so much time and money into these treatments to end up having to shave again. I have dark, thick hair- the type that the laser is supposed to be more effective against. I called Skin Science to address this but their response was simply, "sorry- you signed a waiver." You are required to sign a safety waiver before treatments that includes a hold of no responsibility for treatment results by them. I've had laser hair removal done before in a different area with great and permanent results (over 10 years) from another med spa before I moved so I really didn't expect such disappointing results. They are not accredited by the BBB (Better Business Bureau) which means they have no obligation to higher ethical standards for their practices or to resolve client complaints. I rely a lot on reviews so I hope people find this helpful. I highly recommend not choosing Skin Science for laser hair removal needs. read more

This was my first visit to Skin Science for botox injections. I will definitely be going back. I was greeted & my coat taken, coffee made for me, seconds after walking in the door. All of the staff were friendly, welcoming and went above & beyond to answer questions and inform. Never felt rushed or pressured. I felt the prices were very competitive. I have been looking for a new place closer to home to go to for my skin care needs. Tired of paying downtown prices and the hassle of parking, etc. I've yet to see the results of my injections but I'm confident from my experience that I will be very happy with them. Absolutely love this place! I bought a Groupon for laser hair removal and Dr. Jim has been excellent! Even after the 1st treatment (partial bikini), I noticed there was less hair and it grew back slowly. After the 1st couple treatments, Dr. Jim has focused on the areas that continue to grow the most- I just received my 5th treatment and have minimal hair to be treated (did have to shave just a bit about 2 weeks ago, but minimal growth back) I am VERY happy with the results and would highly recommend them! Huge fan. My fiancé and I both got Botox treatments here this week. I've been getting Botox for almost 2 years by a different doctor, though thought to give Skin Science a try since they were running a Groupon. This is the very FIRST time I haven't bruised. Skin Science staff are beyond knowledgeable, especially about the injection sites... which makes me cringe to think that my previous doctors would just place the needles at random places on my face. I thought bruising was normal, but Skin Science explained they can try to avoid it by placing the needle away from veins (and it worked). Not only that, but the staff was so caring, patient and took the time to explain all dynamics of the procedure. The office was refreshing since it's brand new and felt like a luxury spa. I found this clinic on Groupon. When I made my appointment, I asked about the Groupon that I had seen for Juvaderm.I told the receptionist that I had not bought it and she told me not to as she would match the price when I came in.I had my consultation with Carrie.I did a little research on different products but also figured that I'm not a doctor so I'd leave the actual process up to her.I told her that my concerns were nasolabial folds, eye bags and forehead wrinkles.I told her that I was interested in the Groupon pricing.She said that we would deal with my eye bags concern first and that Juvederm Voluma XC would be the best way to go.She told me that to actually remove eye bags require surgery. She said that the JVXC would be placed around the hollows of the eye bags to fill them up and hid the bags themselves.She did not say that JVXC is actually a cheek lift.She advised that JVXC was not part of the Groupon offer.I asked her to provide me the cost difference between the Groupon offer and using the JVXC for my eyes instead.She also quoted me $12 per unit for the Botox, which I agreed to.She came back and said that they would honor the Groupon for the Voluma and the difference would be $468.She also suggested that I use 2 syringes so the total would be around $1400.I calculated $1,412 including the Botox. So, I agreed to use the JVXC for my eye bags. Now, I do have a problem with needles and Carrie was very kind in her method. She walked me through the process with care. She consistently had me look in the mirror to watch how my eye bags were going away. She mentioned the last injection would be in my tear trough as it was still lower than the eye bag. After we were done, I then asked her about the remaining nasolabial folds. She looked at me in almost horror and said that you have to be very careful with nasolabial folds. If you inject higher they can get worse. I'm not sure why she was telling me the concern that she had with those injections after the eye bag injection instead during the consultation. My nasolabial folds were one of my top concerns. She then suggested that I come back for the Botox injections, which I reluctantly agreed upon being as I am not used to convincing a professional to provide services that I've already asked for and been quoted pricing on. I'm assuming that there was another customer in line. She then led me to a very dimly lit bathroom where we both saw the left eye bags still apparent even after all the injections.I then went to the receptionist to check out.She added the cost of the first syringe at $800 and then second asked for the voucher for the Groupon.I told her that I had not purchased it because I was advised not to because it would be matched when I came in. So she said that I had to pay full price for both syringes.I paid $1600. A few days later, after the swelling went down, my eyes bags were still very obvious. I did some research online to see how other people's experiences were and ended up on the Allergan website. I did not see ANYTHING about Voluma XC being used for under eye bags. It actually SPECIFICALLY states that the doctor should inform you of the SAFETY and EFFECTIVENESS of JVXC used in areas other than the cheek. I was not told that. Ever. I was told that we were using JVXC for my eye bags.That being said,I came in to address 3 issues and none of them were actually resolved. I was given false product information. I paid $1600 which was more than what I was quoted. If I told that I was getting a cheek lift instead of my eye bags addressed,I would not have agreed to the service. Now this isn't beauty consultant giving me brown mascara instead of black. This was a Licensed Medical Professional providing misleading information on a Prescription Medication.I called Skin Science and talked with Carrie and Dr. Puls. Carrie advised me that JVXC isn't a derma-filler for under eye bags but to fill the cheeks to lessen the effect. Very direct and to the point. If this was presented to me during the consultation,you wouldn't be reading this very negative review.Before, during and after the procedure I was told this was for my eye bags.I then spoke with Dr. Puls,he treated me like the entire situation was a mere inconvenience to him.He said that I mis-understood what was being told to me and had unreal expectations.He was not present during the appointment and I have never met him.He had no data to go on and simply treated me like I was incapable of understanding what Voluma actually does.Again,the website is very informative.There is no false information.At this point,I'm not sure what is worse.That I was mislead about medical products,told false information about the charges or that the owner did not care at all that this happened.There was nothing offered to help the situation.Not even the difference of the Groupon.I was just told that I was wrong.My advice to others.DO NOT GO HERE!If the owner doesn't care about the service the service, than no one does. read more
