NO NO NO NO. Just turn around now. This place is gross. I really don't understand the 5 star reviews that I am seeing. First of all, we walked into the shop to see dirty couches full of clutter and a man came around the corner shirtless. That caught us off guard but we thought it was fine. Then he started talking. He was incredibly unprofessional and rude. My friend explained that she wanted a tattoo of a word in Hebrew and he took that as an opportunity to open about about his beliefs which lead to some incredibly inappropriate comments and racial slurs - including how religions other than his all deserved to die. We were all getting a bad vibe from him then he demanded we call him immediately so he can email us. Not really sure what calling him has to do with email. We were all very uncomfortable so we walked out and he bullied us about leaving. It was incredibly awful. Please do not go here. read more

Please, PLEASE don't go here. The place is disgusting, I'm pretty sure the artist lives here. His whole shop looked like a yard sale. I was so eager to get a tattoo that I went ahead and gave this creep 400$ up front. Almost immediately, he launched into a 30 minute political/ religious rant bordering hate speech. When I told him to stop, he (shockingly) didn't. When my eagerness wore off and I realized I was quite possibly standing inside an extremist's meth den, and that letting this guy poke me with a needle was a BAD idea, I told him I wanted my money back. He of course refused, even though he hadn't started the tattoo, so I called the police. This guy was quite familiar with taking money and then having people call the police on him, because he knew there was nothing they could do about it. So thanks, Skin Deep, for the expensive lesson learned. Hopefully the Health Department takes my complaint seriously and shuts this scam down. Really folks, be smarter than I was. read more

This place is NASTY!!! I went in to talk about getting a SMALL tattoo. He wanted me to pay 250 for it!!! He had food all over his shop, you had to step over a ton of stuff to walk through. HE LIVES IN HIS SHOP!!!! he also harrassed me in emails because when he was FORCING my husband and i to pay him the full amount before getting my tattoo we left because i didnt trust him. He kept talking about how he needed the money that day to take his dog to the vet. And showed us pics of his dog. Thats your own problem buddy. Please dont go here. Way too sketchy. While this guy is definitely an artist (does fantastic artwork) it took him 6 hours to do what should have been (at most) an 1 1/2 hour piece. All the while he argued with us on his political views which are pretty radical. I'm a conservative, but he is so far to the right that no matter what you thought you were wrong unless you absolutely agreed with him. He can't talk and work at the same time - so we suffered through 6 HOURS of his radically opinions to get him to finish the work (which was not what we wanted because it was taking him too long - he promised some color and all we got was an outline with 3 little dots of color). If you can go with headphones on and not listen to him do that - but we will not be back. read more

This place is located just across the bridge from Key West but worth checking out. Parks does great art work and spent the time to draw up what I wanted. He also help give me direction of what he thought would look great to. He is down to earth and loves what he does. VERY PASSIONATE about it. I highly recommend if your looking for a tat stopping in, I did. read more

As of November 5, 2016 this shop is still open and from what I heard is NOT the place you want to go. Some friends and I wanted a tattoo to remember our trip and 30th birthdays. The reviews are great but what we experienced was not. Luckily, we had talked to some locals before deciding to go in. I spoke with him over the phone first and he preceded to tell me he was blocked on Facebook for his political/social views so I couldn't see his work, he also told me i should re-think where I want the tattoo because "I'm a girl and it'll hurt". All of us are heavily tattooed and I've never, ever had a tattooer tell me to get a tattoo on my shoulder or calf because it'll hurt less. After quickly deciding to find another shop he repeatedly called us to the point we had his number blocked only for him to call from an unknown number. ASK THE LOCALS, ALWAYS. read more

As a local I heard some pretty BAD things about this place but I was shopping around for a new tattoo and trying to get some new ideas so decided to stop in anyway. I couldn't get out of there fast enough! For starters the place looked like a "dirty" bomb went off in there and I actually thought I walked into someones messy apartment by accident. The place was dark with dirty carpeting, dark colored walls in need of paint, had boxes and papers strewn about and had a sofa that looked like it came from a craigslist "curb alert" after a rain storm! Then the owner came out of a back room wearing only jeans that were unbuttoned and falling off his waste (no shirt, no shoes). I wasn't sure if he was changing or just "comfy" because he talked to me for 5 full minutes without addressing his wardrobe malfunction. He is the 1st "tattoo artist" I ever met who doesn't have any tattoos on himself and I thought that was quite odd. If the fear of getting a Staph Infection from the dirty conditions was not enough to scare me away, the owner said that my tattoo would take "all day" because he likes to "take my time and go slow" and wanted to charge me $300. After I explained to him that the other local shops wanted $150-$175 for the same tattoo idea and I knew it should only take an hour to an hour and a half to do, he offered to do it for $200 if I was ready "right now". With that he took out a permanent marker and attempted to draw a picture on my arm to show me his "artistic" abilities. With that, I walked out and felt pity for anyone who ever actually let this guy put a tattoo on them! I ended up getting my tattoo at another shop and was VERY happy that I did! Do yourself a favor and don't even waste the gas trying to go to this guy! read more

Please think twice before coming here. We stopped in as all the places on Duval were crammed. Parks was nice, but made us feel that we didnt have a decision in what we wanted to get because "he is going to be honest about a dumb tattoo". I did not get what I wanted and he overcharged me to the extreme. As soon as we showed up there he told us to write reviews about him and like his Facebook just to give him accreditation, and that is how he gets all good reviews. For two tattoos that could have normally taken two hours total, we spend about six hours with him. It was a waste of time and money. read more
