During the session, the therapist made contact with the side of my breast more than once while stretching my arm. It did not feel controlled or professionally handled, and it made me very uncomfortable. I had to turn fully onto my side to prevent further contact, after which it finally stopped. Overall, the session lacked proper technique, body awareness, and professional boundaries. I did not feel at ease during the massage and couldn't wait for it to end. I was considering asking him to stop and leaving, and now I really wish I had. Clients should be able to trust that they are in safe, skilled hands, and that was not my experience. I hope the business takes this seriously and addresses training and client safety. If this therapist is new, he should not be working unsupervised with clients until properly trained. This review reflects my experience with one therapist only and is not a reflection of the entire business. The reception staff were professional and welcoming, which I appreciated.

Noone greeted us upon entering and we weren't really sure on how to check in for our appointment. 2. The Dr. did not seem to know what she was doing. When booking the appointment, online it said the service would be a hour. Our service lasted only about 15-30 minutes at the most. So we basically paid 93 dollars to have a tube up our butts that did nothing for us. 3. My colonic experience was awful to say the least. Nothing came out during my session. Multiple times I told the dr that water was leaking under my bottom. She proceeded to change the diaper and kept filling me up with water and then the water proceeded to spill from under me a 2nd time. I did not know what was happening and nor did she. I was surprised to see the lack of knowledge she has toward such a service. I went into the bathroom afterwards and could not control the amount if fluids that were coming out of me. It was very uncomfortable. The Dr did not even ask if I was okay. 4. At the end when me and my friend went to pay, the owner, my friend and I paid a deposit towards our appointment online (which it says will count to your service upon your appointment). She still proceeded to charge us a full 75 dollars. I was such in a rush to get home to clean the mess in the restroom that I couldn't ask about the deposit. In total we spent 93 dollars for a 20 minute service that we didn't get anything out of. 5. There was no briefing for the service. I was hoping she would tell us how to prepare before and after such an intense service but there was none.

Unfortunately, the night before, I experienced a sudden allergic reaction, likely due to something I ate at dinner. My face swelled up, and I developed severe eye irritation and drainage. Despite hoping the reaction would subside with medication, I woke up feeling worse and knew I wasn't in any condition to receive -- or enjoy -- a $375 massage. I was aware of SpaTerre's 24-hour cancellation policy and had a friend contact them by both phone and email as soon as it was clear I wouldn't be able to attend. The staff accepted the cancellation but informed us that a refund would not be possible due to the policy. Later, I followed up directly and explained the situation to the manager. I hoped for a spa credit or more flexibility, especially given the medical nature of the cancellation and the fact that I visit Key West regularly. Unfortunately, I was told the most they could offer was a discount on a future service. While I understand the need for cancellation policies, I was disappointed by the lack of flexibility or empathy in this situation. Emergencies happen, and I had hoped for a more compassionate response. For that reason, I'm hesitant to rebook with SpaTerre, even at a discounted rate.

We weren't really given a lot of direction - just sort of pointed to the changing room and weren't told what to do once in there. I had to come back out and ask what I was supposed to do - like how to lock up my belongings. I came back the next day for what they call an express gel mani and pedi. At first, in their lighting it looked decent. Welp, I got out in the sunlight and my nails were a hot mess. As it turns out, the Nail Tech I had was very new. So new that I was her second customer EVER. That explained a lot. So, I called and asked if I could have them redone - they wanted me to come back and see the same tech. I thought about it and declined and they refunded me half.... Well, that night my nails started to chip - and - I had paid nearly (with tip) $200 for this...not even close to what I usually pay but I wanted to treat myself to an experience...well, I got one, but not the one I wanted. So, the next day - more chipping, I called back and requested a full refund. They reluctantly gave it to me with a bit of push-back. Sigh. Not the type of service I would expect from a Spa. Next time, I know better - go to my own salon at home prior to a vacation.

The positive and the negative of the pier house spa…read more The negative Me and my wife booked a room to stay at the spa side of the resort. The first room we checked in to had a vent problem with the AC and the bathroom looked nothing like the pictures when we booked. So we let management know we were unhappy especially for the price we payed. Management was helpful and happy to change out our room. The second room was what we paid room 210 on the spa side. BUT was not clean to our standards TV in the bathroom did not work. Tv remote controls were dirty The ceiling fans had so much dust you could see they have not been cleaned in months. When we pulled our blankets back on the bed are sheets had little yellow stains on them wonder what that was. The positive Great location you're right off the main Street and right around the corner from one of the best sunsets in the world. Great little private beach in the back of the resort Food was great at the bar by the beach staff was all very friendly.
