I have purchased a number of items from Ski Pro through their online store. Their prices are great and they ship quickly. What prompted this review was actually something that could've been a negative experience, but the customer service they provided was above and beyond. I ordered a Nordica ski system which when it arrived, the binding box had a bit of damage and apparently the bag of screws had fallen out at some point. I called Ski Pro and they were extremely apologetic, offered to credit me back some of my purchase price for the inconvenience (without me needing to push for it at all) and are expediting the screws out to me. Obviously it was problematic that they shipped something that was missing a piece, but these things happen no matter who you buy from and what separates these issues are how the retailer handles the situation. This to me was quality top notch customer service and although I generally like to buy from a local place, their prices and this example of how they went above will cause me to continue to buy from them for all items that don't need a personal fitting. read more

Rented ski package for my son and bought a wrist guard for my daughter. Unfortunately the wrist guard doesn't fit such that my daughter can't put on gloves so she didn't use it. Upon return from the trip, I tried to return the wrist guard and told them the reason. The manager said it was wet so must have been used. I told him we didn't use it and it got wet because it was placed next to snowboard which had some snow that melted on our way back. In fact the receipt also got wet but he didn't believe me. I was really upset feeling that he thinks we were cheating. Will call my credit card to stop payment. Am thinking about consulting an attorney about mistreatment by the store. read more

I've gotten good advice and suggestions on the items I've purchased, and the quality of the stuff is great. I even got a longboard there for my son during the summer season. Worst customer service ever. Rude and unhelpful employees in repair shop. Tried to charge me 3x what any SKI HILL pro shop would to repair a scratch on my board - talk about a rip off!! Then they said that it would take a WEEK TO FIX A DENT IN MY BOARD. I called action ride shop, it's a couple miles away and they said they can have it done same day. Just got back from picking up my snowboard from the repair shop in the mesa location and i gotta say what a thurough job. The Shoppe guys were very professional and gave me a straight answere to what my board needed tune wise. I ended up waiting in store for the work to be done and had more excelent service. I was looking for a pov camera since all my friends have one and after talking to several different employees I ended up buying a Gopro and some accessories. Then when i went back to pick up my board from the shoppe I couldn't believe how good it came out it looked brand new. Good job Ski Pro you guys just earned a new life customer at least as long as i live in Az. read more

I was looking for ski boots and skis for my daughter, we checked sports chalet Scottsdale, they were somewhat helpful, but it turns out the sales associate did not know much. We then drove to Mesa to Ski Pro, what a difference! John helped us and two other people for over 2 hours, never tiring of bringing different boots out for each customer to try on. He made every effort to make sure that the boots fit properly, insisting that she walk around in them for 15 minutes, she found a pair that were comfortable and reasonably priced. He then spent more time making sure she got the proper size skis and bindings. I highly recommend this store and definitely ask for John in the boot department, very knowledgeable, very patient, and very courteous. Ski Pro's anti consumer policies ruined my deal that I had negotiated with a private buyer to buy my skis that I had previously purchased at Ski Pro in 2012. The purchaser bought my skis and wanted to get the skis fitted to his size boot. So I referred him to Ski Pro-worst thing I could of done... The people at the Dobson location said the skis were unsafe because of the old bindings. The skis were purchased in 2012 from that location and still had the grey little sticker on them. I will never purchase anything from Ski Pro again if I cannot resell my used equipment when I want to buy new stuff. There policies negate business growth and they are keeping people from spending money at their stores because they are shortsighted in there policies. Their policies only think about them self and do not encourage people to spend money. Just so people know the facts there is no test they perform so they can work on bindings brought in by a customer. If there is not a product recall and the skis are safe then just do your job. They told my buyer I had ripped him off and tried to sell him stuff at their store. I had to refund his money. Until they change there policies I'll just use them for their knowledge and buy my stuff online. read more

For Christmas we had bought our daughter a pair of new snowboard bindings. She lives in Mesa Arizona while I live in California so during a visit to Arizona this last week we visited Ski Pro to see if we could have her new binding put on her board. During our visit we realized I had bought the wrong size bindings and she needed a size Large, not the medium. I asked Timmy back in the repair shop who was helping us if we could just exchange the medium for the large and he said no because we didn't purchase them at Ski Pro. I kept asking and giving different scenarios because they were a gift. Timmy said he was going to see what he could do to help us because he felt we were really nice people and we were being honest. Timmy came back and said he thought he could help and then here came the manager(didn't get his name). The manager who was not friendly and made us feel like he was doing us a favor we did not deserve told us he normally would not help us but because he knew he had 2 size larges in stock and no mediums he would benefit by giving us the large in exchange for the medium. Timmy continued to help us with a smile and if I had cash on me I would have slipped him a tip. Timmy waxed the board and put the new size large bindings on. Because Timmy's great customer service we would definitely return to shop Ski Pro. The managers tone and attitude towards us needs to be re-evaluated by upper management. I am very disappointed in my experience with this company and will not shop here again. My child is on a city swim team and this company comes to the pool to fit team suits, caps, etc. One of their employees recommended a more expensive swim cap for my child. The employee tried it on my child and assured me that it was a perfect fit. It turns out after one practice it came off every time. Even my child's swim instructor said it wasn't a good fit. When I called to see if I could exchange it, not return it I was told unequivocally no. Considering their own employee is the one who picked it out and tried it on my child, I feel like they should at minimum try to rectify the situation with an exchange. I have certainly learned my expensive lesson to not follow the advice of employees at this company. read more

These guys will pretty much say anything to sell you what they have in stock. Started riding about 5 years ago and had no idea what I was doing. They sold me a camber board about 6 mm short of my chin, which was definitely too short considering my 200+ lb size. Would be a good size for a park board, but who really wants to ride a full camber board in the park (maybe in the pipe), not to mention it was a directional twin. The setback is good for pow, but the board is way too small to float a sasquatch. Camber board would be good for icy/groomer conditions, but again, too small and flexy to be stable on higher speed carving runs like that. Best thing about the board is it has made me a better rider having to learn to ride on a stick that isn't quite right for the job. Fortunately had a size 14 pair of boots that fit my feet pretty well. Both were on sale/clearance (last year's gear that had not sold), so at least I didn't pay too much. 5 years later I have done my research, know what I'm doing, go back in to see what they have in boards, boots, and bindings (before likely ordering on-line for better price). Not a single other customer is in the store. After ten minutes of looking without any help, I have to go track someone down in the ski section, who calls on the intercom for two different guys. Eventually someone shows up to help me. They did have a couple of bigger, wide rocker/hybrid boards - which is what I am looking for - something more appropriate for deep powder days, less catchy when landing/riding switch and hitting the park. However, I can buy the exact same board (2013 new old stock) on-line for $150 less than their 2014. So I look at boots. I tell the guy I wear 14's and have very wide feet. He asks if I'm sure and wants to measure my feet. I tell him I know how big my feet are and what size I wear. He argues with me for a bit before going to look. They have two pair. Set of Ride's that are actually a little bigger than my Thirty-Two's in size 14. My feet are not the same size - left is a half-size larger than the right, which is a real pain when it comes to footwear. The left boot fits perfectly, but the right is too large and my foot is floating in it a bit. The Rides have liners and footbeds that are sewn in (no good for pulling and drying) and I can't swap the footbed in the right boot with a higher-volume insert for a better fit for my smaller foot. Salesman tries to tell me how great the liner is anyway. The other is a pair of Burton's, both of which are too tight for my feet. Salesman tries to tell me that the fit is right, that my toes should be jammed up in the front, that they will break in and stretch. I tell him I chase storms and usually ride for 3-5 consecutive days, and that while that might work for single-day trips, by day 2 and certainly day 3, my dogs are swollen an extra half-size, and those boots would murder my feet. Of course he knows my feet and riding better than me and tells me I'm wrong!? Seriously wanted to slap the twit. No size 14's in Thirty-Two's. Ask about wide K2's and 32's in my size. If I want them to order them to try them on, I have to buy them outright. No thanks, plenty of e-tailers I can order from and return them if the fit ain't right. So I look at bindings. There are like 3 or 4 different sets I'm interested in. They have two in stock in my XL size, but not the set I really want to buy. Here at least the salesman had a few useful insights and comments, but again really pushed to buy what they had in stock (although by now think he could tell that wasn't going to work). Went home, hopped on-line, and the very first e-tailer I looked at had the set of bindings I was most interested in, and at about half the price of what Ski Pro was asking. The only reason Ski Pro gets two stars instead of one is because they do have a decent amount of gear in stock and if you are not particular, you can find some stuff on sale and on clearance for a decent price. If you have to have it today and cannot wait for delivery, and you know what you need and do not have to rely on the sales staff to tell you if what you are looking at is wrong for you, then I can recommend Ski Pro. Otherwise, there is no reason to pay more. I'm talking about a $250 difference on the board and bindings alone. read more

I went in looking for ski boots that would fit a very narrow foot. I had found some online with the same width that my forefoot measures, but would much rather shop locally, so I searched the manufacturer website to find a dealer in Phoenix. I was happy when Ski Pro came up because I have shopped there before. When I got there, they tried many boots on me, all of which were much too wide for my extremely narrow foot. They were not able to order the boots for me either, but suggested that I buy them online and that they could custom them to my feet for a charge. Ecstatic, I bought the boots. They fit great with first try on, but once I hit the slopes, I could tell that paying for them to custom them to my feet would be well worth it. When I went in a few weeks later to get a little help with a few places where the boots hurt my feet, he talked to me as if I were stupid and asked why on earth I would have bought boots online. He didn't seem to remember that he suggested that I go through with that idea since stores do not carry my width. We agreed that it would be a much cheaper alternative to completely custom boots from manufacturers like Surefoot. After establishing that I was stupid for purchasing boots online, he then told me that there was nothing that he could do to help me. I will be the first to admit that I was lacking knowledge as to what I needed to do to modify the boots, but that is why I went to a pro both before purchasing and after purchasing. He even mocked me in regards to the width of my foot asking how I was so sure that it was the measurement that it was. When I told him that I went online for a diagram on how to measure the last of the foot, he cut me off and sassed, "I know what a last is." I'm really not sure how much he heard. He was very kind and helpful the first time. The second time, he said the exact opposite of all of what he told me the first. it was all I could do to not cry in front of my daughter after how rude he was to me the whole time I was there. The only thing that I can think of is that the guy next to me was buying boots. I do not know if they get commission or not. I was definitely there to pay as much as it took to get them fitting right, but I guess you don't get commission on service. read more
