They have a very clean well kept up rink, employees are extremely nice, and helpful. The skates are very good and always ride smooth

I am a 44 year old father and respected custom home builder. I brought my son and his girlfriend here to skate and was not allowed to enter as a spectator "not even to skate" due to wearing a tank top. But as I watched he was allowing under aged girls walk in with booty short shorts on. This was completely unacceptable and inappropriate. read more

I used to live behind this place when I was a teenager and came here all the time ! Was always a fun thing for me and my little brother to do. Well fast forward over 10 years later, I decided to form a get together of me , my spouse and about 5 other adults. We all drove over 30 minutes to get here (passing other rinks on the way) cuz I swore it was a great spot and I had never been to the others. Well our experience wasn't good - at all. The man I assume was the manager at the front immediately hated me for some reason . White man with odd looking hair (possibly fake?). Was extremely rude from the beginning and said "you can't wear that" without saying any other words such as hello ... I replied "wear what?" He was talking about my tank top... that only showed my arms .. I'm a male. I didn't get it all as to why I needed sleeves for a roller rink but since we came all this way I went and got a shirt from family dollar 10 minutes down the street... we return and he rudely lets us in . No apologies or anything for this "dress code". well upon entry I see at least 5 young girls with tank tops much more revealing than mine was . Low cut ... upper backs exposed ... and thin straps . Is this man a creep ?? Why let these underaged girls wear this but a grown man can't ?? Whatever - I let it go and just figured out the man likes to look at children. We go to get skates in the back and then I'm told if I want blades I gotta walk all the way back to the front and get a wristband for an additional 2$. Why they couldn't take my 2$ at the skate rental spot or let me know this at the entrance I will never know - ANNOYING !!! Some of us get skates some of us get blades . ALL of our skates were in bad condition. The laces completely frayed making it almost impossible to get into the holes . And some laces were way too short while others were way too long. It took all of us at least 10 minutes bent over trying to get these things on. Then it was time to skate - which was almost impossible since it was packed full of little kids who couldn't skate - but what can you expect ? Little kids like to skate so I can't be bothered about that. But if you're looking for a more adult atmosphere this place isn't it. Got bored of all the little kids in the way so we decided to get some concessions. The blonde girl working the counter was much too focused flirting with the guys that worked there to pay attention to who was in line. I saw her flirting with multiple guys - multiple times. At the end of the day I feel bad for her and figure she just really needs some attention. The drinks and food were all gross and overpriced . 12$ for totinos pizza ?? Not only is this manager trying to look at little girls - but wants to rip them off too ?! Wow. Will not be back. read more

Was glad to get out first encounter with Bill the manager was just horrible. I cant believe he is the manager. He has no since of customer service just rude and I dont think he wanted to be there. Got in waited for the rest of the group the music was ok the tv shows what's playing so I did like to see some old videos. Food was ok. Second encounter with Bill one nephew got a skate guide for 3 dollars so I gave my other nephew 3 to get him one. He comes back says he needs $10 like why. The charge a deposit for these guides dont you see the sign strike 2. The girl didnt do that so I didnt know. Well if your attitude wasnt so bad I might have took another I wont give this place anymore of my money. You rent a guide that cant leave the premises so why do I need a $10 deposit just stupid. I won't be back Bill acts like he doesn't need the buisness so I suggest no one gives him any buisness. read more

Overcrowded. This business should consider booking one large party at a time. There were two large (100+) each children groups hosting here last night. With that being said parents waited in a long line for the skate mate trainers for their little ones. Really put a damper in the experience if you have to wait in order to skate safely. There was only one person working behind the concession area and the customer line was at least 30+. Very understaffed. read more

The rink is well maintained and does a good job at servicing children's parties. My only complaint is that they seem to ignore the adult "jam skate" community. The music is programmed, like a radio station, with little room for an actual DJ to read the floor and switch up styles. The few jam skaters that visit this rink are forced to bring headphones to hear their own skate jams, which kills the sense of community you usually get from the jam skate style. read more

Went there a Friday night and had tons of fun. Lots of teenagers, predominantly ages 16-18. They put nice music, the place was clean, workers were nice. Skates were comfortable and (I assume) they let people bring their own skates if you have them because I saw a girl with a pretty nice pairs of skates I doubt she got from the venue. They have the old 80s skates and the lined ones. Yes, you can switch them later if you want. I want to come back again with friends. read more

Roller skating is a vigorous activity and requires hydration. Every roller skating rink I've gone to has provided water to its customers; but not this one. I went to the food court to ask for a water cup, and she told me she didn't " have water", despite seeing a water button on the soda machine. She then told me I had to get it from the vending machine. I go over to the vending machine... and it won't take my bills/the machine was inoperable. I go back to the girl at the counter and ask her how I'm supposed to get water in this situation... She points to the water fountains. We are in the middle of a pandemic ... I'm not going to put my mouth near those.. anyways, ridiculous amount of time was spent JUST to get some water. Eventually I asked for a cup to simply fill it up with water from the fountain since I had no other choice and she charged me 2$ for an empty cup!!!!!!! you should be providing water for free to your customers at a roller rink! First place I've been to that didn't !!!!! I've also heard from many people that the owner is racist... I won't be visiting here again. read more

this spot is terrible...my girlfriend was denied entry because her shoulder was showing. So was another couple who had shorts that weren't even higher than mid thigh. Having a dress code that is more strict than my high school is quite ridiculous, but if those are the rules than fine. but the way he approached the situation was terrible. he didn't even say hello or be kind in any way. he just proceeded to say "you can't wear that" and than wouldn't let us in. quite rude in my opinion. terrible service and very rude read more

new rules about dress code it was my fault I wasn't aware but I have been going here since I was 10 years old and when i walked in as a almost 22 year old I walked in and was told to change because my mid drift was barely visible and than to came back I didn't argue because I really just wanted to skate and I work all week and wanted to have a nice time. a Burnett girl around my age 19 or 20 and was just verry rude about it and not nice. there where also two grown men that they had just let in after we changed and came back in a span of 5 minutes than when I came back a different burnett girl my age came out and was extremely rude as well and ignored me when I politely tried to ask about the dress code and when it was enforced as she proceeded to ignore me i watched her walk over to the concession as she said she was going to talk to a manager and start to giggle with the other girls other there while looking at us and laughing the rude girl proceeded to come back and tell me that I was not allowed to come in. I asked why I was told I had to go change and than would be let back in and was still given no response. whent our to the parking lot so my bestfriend could say her goodbyes to her young fiancée who flew in a couple of hours due to family problems they where saying there kisses goodnight and than the guy manager came out and yelled at them and proceeded to say "this is not a place to f*ck" "you need to leave" horrible place I cried whatever memories I had here when I was younger are ruined and I feel so discuste by this whole situation all together I will never return. read more

Honestly, I used to go to this skating rink ALL the time when I was in elementary school, for school functions. More recently, I thought I would skate on in (hehe) and check it out for a possible option for my birthday party. While the actual location is ideal and the place is gorgeous, the people that work here.... not so much. I mean... it's not that I need for them to be gorgeous or anything lol! It's that they were so RUDE!!! This was so SHOCKING to me because I would like to think that I'm a really nice person..... Sunday my guy friend and I walked in to this location close to closing, to get some info about options and to put down a deposit and people working there were just staring like they had saw ET or something. It was really weird. Clearly we looked lost because we were just standing there looking around for someone.... ANYONE to say something... even if it was "hi we're getting ready to close," but nope... they just stood there looking at us. Awful customer service, awful management... this was just wrong wrong wrong! read more

Fun for kids, however, the restrooms are nastier than a truck stop! Not cleaned regularly & reeks of stink! So you wonder what their snack bar is really like. And do they really spray down those skates? Guh-roze. read more

I would give this place a better rating if the customer service was better. The young girl passing out the skates was very nice & very patient & helpful. However, the man who checked us in & took our money, was less than enthusiastic when dealing with me. He really seemed annoyed that we were there. I was curious about that, but don't want to make any wrong assumptions. Maybe he was having a bad day ? I had 6 very well behaved children along with my husband. Not sure why you would work in a business with children, if you can't crack a smile when dealing with polite customers. It is a very clean & well maintained place. Comfortable restrooms. Prices were very reasonable and the skates were in good condition. Based on some of the prior reviews, it seems they have recently upgraded some things. If they can work on the customer service, this place might really blow up. read more

I have been here many times. I have attended three birthday parties. In the past I brought my own skates. This time I didn't,my son is five he has never skated before. They were out of their cheaters and he couldn't hold himself up. I asked for a pair of skates and they said they would have to charge me 10.00! So as a birthday party guest you have to spend money to be there. I didn't agree with this especially after spending 20 minutes finding a parking spot. There was a festival happening across the street and they were parking at the rink. Skaters could not find any spots. So here's the time table party starts at 1:30. Get to skate rental booth by 2:00. Finally get extra tightly string skates on. My kids legs are flipping off the floor. No control at all! I ask for skates to help him. They say 10.00!!! I proceed to explain that I am not enjoying myself I am being my sons spotter so he does not break a bone. They direct me to the cheaters. 3.00 dollar rental. They are out of them. I refuse to pay for my skates because I'm not paying to hunch over and be in pain for the next 30 minutes before cake and ice cream time. We skate on the carpet I am grumpy and irritated. Thinking how recently I decided I'm not going to do things where I do not enjoy myself. Add birthday kid parties at skating rinks to that list. Party was promptly over at 3:30. In my opinion they should comp the ticket of skates for parents spotting children. Why should we have to pay for a back ache. We will return only because it's the only skating rink around but we will never go for a kid birthday party where your time on the floor is limited. Also good idea is bring your own skates if you have some. As far as throwing a birthday party there be fore warned they nickel and dime you for everything and your guest have to pay money while being at your event. 0 healthy food options cancer causing food everywhere! This birthday party opted out of having pizza for the kids so mine were begging for that too from their concession stand. Every time I have gone they are always out of hand soap in both dispensers so bring some sanitizer. read more

An edit to my previous review, literally yesterday I reviewed the music and the staff saying that the music and Dj were not too great and how there was a lack of guarding on the floor (for reckless speed skaters) , but TODAY the next day I came in and there was not a single bad song! Disco 80's classics all night long and it was fabulous!! The staff was also very on point keeping reckless speed skaters from scaring little kids on the floor! The jamming was just fire. I am impressed by how quickly change was implemented! Overnight the magic came back! I am very pleased with tonight's skate sesh! 5 stars for being so quick to fix issues and respecting patrons perspectives! Thank you Skate Champions for an awesome disco fever night! read more

I went here today for my niece bday. It is a pretty cool family place. They have good snack food (reasonable price)....2 of my niece never skate before, and they provided a hand made equipment that help them learn.....Good music, skate, and atmosphere. read more

I would give them a 5 star, but it seemed like some of the workers working there didn't even want to be there. The girl handing out the skates did not seem friendly at all. However the DJ seemed very interactive with the crowd. He had the whole crowd dancing and even played a game similar to Simon Says with the crowd. And there are one or two workers in the middle of the rink who would blow their whistle at anyone breaking the rules. I went on a tuesday where the price is $2 for entry. Skates were also $2 and rollerblades were $5. You are able to bring in your own skates/rollerblades which is pretty cool. They do have lockers for your personal items that are 75 cents to use. My friends and I were able to fit about 5 pairs of shoes and a small purse along with our phones. The lockers are one time use so if you open it to just get something you would have to put in another 75 cents to lock it again i believe. Restrooms had 2 stalls for the ladies and are very close to the door for easy access on your skates. They do serve food and drinks and provide a bunch of tables for you to sit on. There is a point where you aren't allowed foods/drinks for skating purposes. All in all it was a great night! Oh and it was a summer night so the roller rink was super packed with careless kids skating through minimal spaces between people. read more

Skate Champions - Skating Rinks Near Me - Spring, Texas

Great, family friendly atmosphere. The staff is wonderful and attentive. It's a fun placce for birthday parties for all ages.

I have skated there for about 7 years now. I used to tour every year just to see if other rinks in Houston were trying to improve, but usually that was a disappointment. There is not a better rink in the Houston area. It has good size, is VERY CLEAN, modern looking and they keep the floor very nice. Good owners and good people operating it. There is a group of older skaters that usually hang out on Sunday afternoons. Regulars. Got to get our cardio in! My number one choice place to skate. I usually have to drive an hour or more to any rink, so this is it for me. read more

Over all a great atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and respectful. I liked this venue a lot, not too loud, very friendly kid environment. The only issue I had is the skates I rented were very dirty with all types of strands stuck in the wheel bearings of the wheels and the rink floor being extremely dirty, making it very difficult to skate well. read more

Very disappointed on how rude the employees were. Some of the employees are adults and were very to deal with. They are also not very efficient. You can pick up your skates in the back of the building, but if you want inline skates, you have to walk all the back to the front of the of the building to pay and get a wrist band. We walked all the way back to the back of the building to pick up our skates and were told they needed both shoes. BACK to the front of the rink to grab shoes and I just didn't care to leave both my kids' shoes where they can be stolen. Then, we tried to grab a snack to eat and were told, they couldn't sell us food because they were backed up with parties and had to prepare their food and drinks first. To please come back later, this after standing in line for 10-15 minutes. Kids have skated before and enjoyed it but they didn't seem to enjoy themselves much this time. I would not recommend to anyone. The teens and adults working here seemed to not want to be there and there are other rinks with much nicer employees. read more

Been here many times and seems like it's gotten a little worse every time I go. Went there yesterday and when we first got there, it wasn't that crowded so the skating floor was fine. Over the next hour, many parties showed up and so it became pretty crowded. Which, is pretty common for skating rinks. The problem with this place was the lack of supervision on the skating floor. The DJ was also the "referee" and obviously couldn't do two jobs at once. Every once in a while he would come on over the speakers and tell someone without skates to get off the floor, but otherwise, it was a free for all. People were skating every which way, which can be dangerous. What got me the most were the PVC skating assistant things that the kids that don't know how to skate use. There were sooooooo many on the floor, to the point they were hazards. And it wasn't just kids using them, grown adults were using them, teens were using them and actually playing games and sliding them back and forth between themselves as they were skating (and they knew how to skate so didn't need to be using them). These take up quite a bit of space and with so many on the floor, it became hazardous. We couldn't even enjoy skating because it got to the point that you couldn't make it once around without almost crashing, or actually crashing into someone going the wrong direction or one of these assistant things. It just wasn't fun anymore. There needs to be one, if not two, dedicated referees on the floor to ensure rules are followed as far as what direction should be skated and there should only be a maximum number of those PVC assistants allowed on the floor. It's sad that myself and 4 kids between the ages of 9-11 l, who all love to skate, couldn't enjoy ourselves because of the lack of supervision. read more

This is a really nice skating rink but I have to agree with the reviews regarding bad management over the last month. We had a skate meet this morning and raising athletes we packed food and water for them. When my husband tried to bring the tray of sandwiches in, the manager, Bob, had an issue with it. Looking around at other tables, it is obvious that we weren't the only ones who planned to supply food to our athletes. It is already bad enough that we have to pay a spectator fee when to speed skate you pay for uniforms, skates, entries, and practices. I understand the no food policy during sessions because not everyone would care for the skating rink like the families who participate in this sport. I feel like they would make up the money they would loose to sell non-healthy over priced food by making us pay a spectator fee. I had a talk with the manager about it right after my husband got denied entry. His excuse was that he did not see them come in with the food. Not even 30 minutes later, he let someone else in with a fast food bag and Starbucks. When I was taking my daughter to the car to eat because she was hungry, Bob stopped me and told me that we could bring the tray in. He mentioned that someone else tried to bring a Whataburger sack in and he denied them also. I mentioned him letting in the other people with the Starbuck drinks and food and he seemed to not have anything to say about it. His excuse was that he stayed at the skating rink until 1am this morning prepping the rink for us instead of going home early. My husband and I explained that this is his JOB. He explained to me that this is a BUSINESS when I addressed the food policy and how it would be more understandable since the rink is charging a spectator fee to allow us to bring food in. I told him that everything does not have to be about money when running a business but can be about the families that come to these events. He was VERY adamant about that people are only in business to make MONEY. My husband and I both operate our own business and we both do it for the good of the people and not about being an ass about pinching for every dollar. I understand rules but as a manager and from my past experience as a manager, he could have handled this better. read more

The management is horrible! I dropped my nephew off there thinking he would be able to have a good time with friends but that was just the opposite. He was harassed all night about not wearing skates. He was not on the skating floor in his shoes and like many of the other teens and adults he was wearing sneakers on the carpet. He was followed around all night being watched like a criminal. Finally, he called his father to come pick him up but not before being questioned by the management and a police officer on why he didn't want to skate and then escorted over to the skate rental and forced to get skates. When he got home I asked him how his night was and he was so upset about his night that he didn't want to tell me. I would not recommend gong up there, out of the 17 years of going there I have never been so mad. I would not drop my children off there again. read more

This place was my favorite hang out in Jr. High many, many years ago. I had so many fun times with my friends skating here. So, when my friend offered to take my 9-year old skating with their family for a local elementary school fundraiser, I was happy to let him go! Not a worry in the world. Until I went to pick him up. The spirit night was 6-9 pm, I arrived around 9:20, the kids were still eating pizza and having a blast! Then the music/videos changed. IT. WAS. HORRIBLE!!!!!! Words cannot describe how nasty these videos were, projected on the wall for elementary and middle school children to view. Lots of bootie shaking, boobie bouncing, nasty dancing, twirling on poles, very explicit stuff right in front of these kid's eyes! I don't listen to this type of music, so I am not sure who the "artists" were, but I sucked it up for about 20 minutes hoping it would get better. It didn't. I finally decided we HAD to leave immediately when the ENTIRE screen was a lady's rear with barely anything covering her and it was shaking all over while the "artist" was spanking her!!!! Yes! That's all these kids could see is bare bum and a hand smacking her. Can you even understand how big that looked on the full wall projector at the back of the rink??? It was disgusting, degrading, explicit, inappropriate, and unacceptable. The rink was full of Elementary and Jr. High kids! I am furious I had to explain that to my child. No excuse. Yes, I know the spirit night was until 9 but the place is still open and they wanted to stay. Kids were still everywhere (and completely unsupervised but that's another story)! No one said it turned into an adult scene after 9! In all fairness though, I was told the music was not like that before 9. However, this is a roller skating rink, not an adult dance club, and definitely not a strip club. I'm sure if the parents that dropped their kids knew about this, they too would have a big problem. Very disappointing. I will never go back to this place, neither will my son. read more

The venue itself was nice, parking a bit crowded but we came in on a Saturday and there were many birthdays. Facilities clean and modern, music not too loud, good games and skates for kids. The issue I had was with teenage skaters who were being very reckless and crashing into small children and causing others to fall. There was plenty of staff available but none seemed to do much. One of these teens crashed into the wall full speed and almost flipped over the rail and spit on my daughter.I complained to the staff and it wasn't until the same set of teens totally wiped out a small girl horse playing did they seem to really take action.Other teens were going very fast backward in and out of crowd and clipped other children causing them to fall. This kind of behavior happened the entire time I was there by different teenagers.Had my daughter been one of them who fell this would be a different post. Safety is number one priority and should be in an environment like this, being a little proactive to avoid these kinds of situations is paramount,,was very disappointed in the aspect... read more

The facility is clean. My daughter and her friend enjoyed themselves; HOWEVER, on their website and the cashier at the window stated no food nor drinks could be brought inside. It appears there are double standards. When the cashier was advised that a family brought in Starbucks, he replied "I didn't see anyone bring drinks in". Even though the family was in plain sight. read more

Wow ! I never leave reviews for anything but I just needed to leave one for this place. Me my daughter and her dad came in on a Friday at 2. It was pretty busy. The guy at the front wasn't rude just wasn't welcoming. When we got to the skate rental station there was nobody there. My daughters dad had to get somebody after about 5 minutes. I'm guessing it was because they were doing some kind of game on the rink. Finally got into our skates and were on our way. My 5 yr old daughter was terrified to skate as this was her first time. With all the kids on the rink from different ages I would think that it would be hard to skate especially for a toddler. But no, these kids were so respectful of the people around them. No rough housing. No hogging the floor. If anything they were so eager to help! Teenagers were helping the little kids. The little kids were checking on other little kids to see if they were ok after falling. They would give each other tips on how to skate better. The adults were also having a great time and again mindful of the little ones. The community at this rink was what really made me like this place. They do play games throughout your time here depends how long you stay. The music was really good too very upbeat made you really want to skate. After a while my daughter was having the time of her life. I honestly think that it was because of all the people there. So nice so respectful and just a good vibe. She met so many sweet kids. This a nice place where you won't have to worry about your child being trampled over or feel isolated. The kids also were interactive with parents. Asking if they wanted to race. The kids we shared the rink with that day were the best! We stayed for 3 hrs! My daughter did not want to leave. She made a little friend so we will be back next Friday. We might just make this an every weekend thing! read more
