Bottom line is Skate America sold me a defective product and wouldn't take it back. Told me to call the manufacture. Ordered an almost deck from them. After I receiving it I noticed it was warped. I tried to send it back after I noticed it was defective and they told me based on the pictures I sent them the board looked used. Total bs the board was never used. The paint was scuffed on the edge because the board sat around my house not skated. Also this took 3 business days to come to this conclusion. I called the first day they requested pictures of the board. Never heard back from them. Called on the second day they reviewed the pictures and said the board was indeed warped/defective. Never heard back from them about the RMA. Called the third day and they said they needed more pictures of the bottom of the board. And that's when they rejected my claim. Donny at skate America told me he emailed me three times and I never received an email from him plus I left my number with him and he never called me back. Very poor customer service, very poor customer relations. read more

Spent $103.17 on two pairs shoes that my husband really wanted. He's been anxious for some decent shoes! So we placed this order just to be told a week or so after that one of the pairs he ordered was out of stock. That's it, no info as to which ones, just that they are out of stock. So we played the waiting game to see which pair would arrive. Finally, we get them just to find out they aren't the right size. We ask about a refund or exchange (we'd be happy to get the same pair in the right size). The answer was "sure but you'll have to pay for shipping to return them". So let me get this straight... we spent $103.17 on this order which included $13 shipping costs, just to find out we have to spend another $25 on shipping them back ourselves. WOW talk about horrible customer service. Breaking it down we are now going to be paying $60+ for shoes that were $45 and we won't even have a pair or shoes to show for. Coming from many years of retail and customer service myself, to now owning my business, all I can say is good luck to you guys. You clearly are behind on the times with your customer care and order policies. I checked the site and not one single policy is listed stating the customer would be liable for shipping costs on the return. My advice - don't order online from here. You'll be thankful you didn't. read more

Don't mail order anything from this company, ever. My husband ordered a longboard from SkateAmerica.com and Fed Ex flubbed the delivery. It was either delivered to the building next door or pocketed by the driver. Either way, we opened a case with Fed Ex...luckily had videos of the delivery, lack of delivery, etc. We check in with Skate America, they tell us that our claim has been denied by Fed Ex. I call Fed Ex and the claim is still open. Meanwhile we're arguing with them for over an hour, literally telling Skate America that Fed Ex is still investigating and that we literally have videos proving this wasn't delivered. We had to handle the non delivery claim start to finish and dealt with Fed Ex for days even though we sent SkateAmerica the videos proving it was not delivered. Skate America never lifted a finger to help or get it resolved and were complete jerks to us every step of the way. Plenty of small businesses that hustle out there and deserve your money more. read more

Terrible service won't even go in the back and check to see if a certain pro scooter is in stock. What a waste of time.

Some of the deals are good but customer service isn't helpful with requesting specific girptapes. They refuse unless you can actually go their physical store and are dicks about it. Was bounced around numerous times and ignored. Finally got answers after starting a new chat with a fake name. The person I spoke to in store before I placed my order was nice and confirmed what items they had in stock that I was looking for. I placed the order the next day and their web team basically told me too bad and that they won't sell me the grip I want even though they have it in stock. read more

So disappointed! Shopped here for Christmas 2019 and great selection of skateboards and customer service. Brought boards from the warehouse for me to look at. Went earlier this week and they no longer have the large selection of boards. Maybe a dozen on display, limited parts. Seems like they have shifted towards paintball items, shoes and clothing. I understand covid has impacted inventory but it appeared the store is no longer carrying skateboard items. Sales rep was not knowledgeable or helpful. Ordered online what we wanted from another site. read more

Don't ever order online from them, I ordered a hoodie and paid for shipping. It took 3 weeks to get to me, I didn't need it anymore since it took so long, so I returned it. They received it 3 days after I shipped it back (which was 7 days ago) and still have not received my refund. I contacted them and they told me they are super busy and haven't had time to process the refund. read more

I placed an online order with Skate America for a number of different pieces of skateboard equipment. I did end up getting my items, but it was much slower than their site suggested. The site, while being very nice and easy to use, claims orders are shipped within 24-48 hours excluding weekends. I ordered on Dec 30 and received my items on Jan 12. The order was shipped on Jan 8th. I never received a shipping notice and my order status on the site never changed from unfulfilled. I learned that my order had shipped when I emailed them on the 11th to request that they cancel my order and issue a refund since I had lost hope of getting the items I needed and had decided to source them elsewhere. Their customer service responded that my order had shipped out on the 8th and they provided a tracking number. This information should have been updated on the site and I probably never would have complained. During the entire process I had contacted their customer service a total of 3 times--twice on chat and once via email--and each time their agents were always very polite, but slow. Simple questions like "Where is my order?" took a little while to find the answers to and they always came back telling me that my order would ship that day or the next morning. That was never the case for me. I have a feeling that it's a little hit or miss depending on how busy they are and whether or not they have your items in stock--one of my items had to be substituted with another, but it was just simple skateboard bolts, so not a huge deal. Most of their issues with online orders would be resolved with better, more accurate communication and realistic expectations set. I would love to shop with them again, but they have some things to work on. read more

I placed an order for a pair of shoes paid for two day shipping on the third day I contacted them and they told me they didn't have the shoes in stock this place is a joke read more

I ordered a pair of Osiris D3V's online and paid $7.50 in shipping. The shoes showed up 3 days later than expected and ran a half size too small. I called to try to exchange the shoes for the correct size, but Skate America intends to charge me for the return shipping of the original order AND for the outbound shipping of the new order. In the end, I'd end up paying more than 50% the cost of the shoes in shipping fees. I explained this to their customer service representative, and he says there's nothing the company can do to help. Nothing......I'm not shopping here again. read more

Terrible terrible company for buying overseas they failed to mention the import tax anywhere on their web page or at checkout and after paying 50 dollars for jeans and a further 22 dollars for delivery I was then told my package was being held until I paid a further 22 dollars to the courier. I will not be buying from them again as theyre staff were extremely rude and unhelpful I would advise anyone to avoid them completely and should you order from here expect to pay for delivery twice read more

GARBAGE IN MY OPINION!!!!! I will never buy from them again the only thing worse than their shipping is their customer service!!! I paid $20 extra on a $50 pair of shoes to have them "rush shipped" to me in 2 days in which case they didn't even ship them for 4 days so it took 6 days to get an item that I paid extra to have in 2 then had to deal with their worthless customer service department is rather buy shoes at Payless!!! read more

I was one of those dummies who ordered from Skate America without checking online reviews first. Seriously, who does that that these days? If I would have come here first and seen the multiple complaints, I never would have ordered from them. I had what appeared to be an active discount code but had no place to use it so I put it in the gift card box and planned on calling them the following day during business hours. Upon calling, the only good experience that I has was talking to the low guy on the totem poll. He was kind and professional but was obviously the anomaly at Skate America. I politely asked to speak with a manager since he the customer service rep. didn't have the authority to extend the discount code but the manager wasn't there or available. The service rep suggested that I create a help ticket. I explained my whole story precisely and sequentially in the email and got an impersonal, half witted response in which they misspelled my name and the only signed their email by the initials, "DC" I wrote back stating that I'd like to work something out with them and they simply closed the help ticked. In a nutshell, a VERY impersonal and rude experience for the most part and I would never even think to order from them again. Had they attempted to work with me, even to the smallest degree, I wouldn't be here writing this. It's probably been 2-3 years since I actually took the time to write about a bad experience online. Save yourself a headache and order from a retailer with higher ratings. read more

Still dealing with an unfortunate shipping issue. Really very simple, but the owner of skate America has gone out of his way to be mean and rude through email. I paid for items that were shipped to a wrong zip code. Not my fault. Not his fault. Shipping company made the error. Here's the deal. The shipping company will not help me cause I'm not the customer. Skate America is. Skate America won't help me because they already have their money. It's only a few bucks for bearings, but the email responses that I have received from Skate America have been rude and downright distasteful. I can understand a mistake, but the attitude from this company is unacceptable. My kid ordered these items. He goes through a lot of boards and hardware. Usually buys everything through zoomies, but is beginning to venture out.. With the amount of boards and gear he goes through, he's learning where to and where not to shop. read more

Placed an order on a Saturday with the basic shipping. I fully understand businesses are closed for operation and shipping on weekends. I expected my order to ship on the following Monday (especially since it was not a holiday weekend or anything special). Monday came and went, no tracking information. Tuesday came and went, no tracking information. Finally, on Wednesday afternoon, I used the chat option online, in which they are incredibly slow to respond, and was told my order had not shipped yet and would ship soon. I asked for the tracking details and was told none could be given. Later that day, my order shipped and the tracking details revealed the slowest possible shipping method known to mankind. I think stuff was shipped faster in the old west days by stagecoach. I say this because, I live about 50 miles away and the tracking info shows 6 days to get to me, yes, you read that correctly 6 days to go 50 miles. I did receive my item and everything was as described. They have some good pricing on stuff and if you do not mind waiting for shipment, then order away. read more
