It's a great spot for your classic gym work-out's, but also as a change in pace for those who work from home (there's a separate work space where you can also rent out private room). Noise level is typically lively. Parking in the main lot is difficult especially after work or at noon (during weekday's) and is generally packed during the weekend - of note, there's an alternative parking lot to the side of the main lot for Bay Club-specific parking (approximately 5min walk). SERVICE Service was friendly, overall, as you're typically greeted by those at the front desk, which is lovely. I'd say there is room for improvement for my tour/meeting with the membership director when I first looked at Bay Club Courtside, as it felt that my question's were more of annoyances and that he wanted the meeting to be over with sooner than later. STANDOUT DETAIL What stood out most to me was the overall atmosphere and vibe - it feels like I'm going on vacation to a resort everytime I enter (rather than a gym). I've never paid a monthly fee for a gym until now, and I'll say it's absolutely worth it! Overall, I'd highly recommend Bay Club Courtside!

I am one of the Los Gatos Spenga's founding members. I've been going here over four years and…read morerecently celebrated my 500th session. This means that this review is about four and a half years late. I first joined Spenga from a gym that did a lot of HIT workouts. The workouts were decent, but there was never time given to cool down and stretching. I heard about the new Spenga opening up in LG and was immediately interested due to the yoga. Spenga is a whole body work out-- spin/strength/yoga (20 minutes of each in an hour long session). If you have never done the Spenga work out-- it is HARD. Every single time. Because as you get stronger and stronger, your "sweet spot" (power output on the bike) gets higher and you are encouraged to lift heavier weights and do stronger yoga poses. The combination of spin/strength/yoga goes by quickly, especially as there's so much you have to pay attention to. But the reason I have stayed so long at Spenga is the instructors and the community. Some instructors (Marina) have been there from the start. She recently celebrated her 2000 session. Chloie-- also an OG-- celebrated her 1500 session. Having the same instructors mean they get to know you personally (which is a double-edge sword-- they will push you to work harder!!) One of the co-owners, Dan, is a regular-- he is often at the front desk or taking a class with us. The instructors and the front desk team make you feel welcomed. You are greeted by name (unlike other studios I've attended where they work hard to ignore you), and the instructors even ask you to introduce yourself to your neighbor in the work out. As I take classes at the same time every day, I get to know the other people in the class. We cheer each other on, especially during the tough workouts. There are lots of celebration moments-- check out Spengalg's instagram accounts to see pics of the clients hitting major milestones, working on their birthday, etc. Spenga attracts all kinds of people. It's a workout that has something for everyone. Whether you are looking to get back in shape, get into a shape you have never been, or wanting variety from your current routine, I'd recommend giving Spenga a visit!

The staff are friendly and welcoming, from the front desk managers to each and every instructor. Each instructor has a different vibe -- and they're all great. From time to time, the studio runs different fitness challenges, which helps foster the community atmosphere. Atmosphere: The studio is set up into three different sections - one for spin, one for strength, and the other for yoga. The facilities are modern and very clean. It's nice! Classes: The signature Spenga workout is 60 minutes - 20 minutes of spin, 20 minutes of strength, and 20 minutes of yoga. The Spin classes ramp up in intensity based on your own performance over time through increasing your "sweet spot." This is nice because you can see how much you improve over time. After a SPENGA class, I feel like I've had a great workout and love that it ends in yoga. The mix of all three parts works so well for me. I'd gotten out of the habit of working out -life got busy. And SPENGA has been great for me to get back into the swing of things. I've gotten good results in terms of fat loss and physical performance. I can't wait to see what the next six months has in store. I'd absolutely recommend giving it a try if you are looking for a new fitness activity in Los Gatos.

Several weight rooms, exercise classes and of course over a dozen tennis courts complement the facilities as well. LG Swim and Racquet is an affordable family oriented culture (particularly during summer) and family run which matters to me. Locker rooms are clean. I have never had any issues getting a pool lane and have developed quite a few "swimming buddies" over the years. I would highly recommend LG Swim and Racquet to anyone who favors a more low key, family-centric club with a great value proposition.

Myself and my wife are both Federal "Excepted" workers, meaning that we still have to come in, without a paycheck. The club worked with us during the government shutdown, allowing us to defer payments until the shutdown ended. This is the kind of stuff you get with a family run club, flexibility if you run into some problems personal problems. Shutdowns over, and I've since payed them back. I get some of the other reviews complaining about kids, but it's winter now. The pool is heated and it's a great time to get swimming. I'm writing this before I go tonight. Also there's no separating kids from water. Just doesn't work. My wife and son love the weight stuff, I'm kind of old and just like soaking my bones in the hot tub and sauna. Can it use some updates? Sure, but at the same time if you look at similar clubs in nice areas (Like Almaden Valley) their monthly's are more than this club. I also understand the frustration of the tennis players, but hey, at least you still have someplace to play here right? All over the bay area I'm seeing courts converted into pickle ball. All in all it's a nice play to relax, recharge, and make sure your family is doing the same. Like a mini resort vacation.

Historically, I have had trouble starting and maintaining a strength training program due to my busy schedule and not really knowing what to do. Mint has been perfect for me due to the fact that I am on a set schedule and my trainer works with me to plan my workouts based on my physical needs. They rotate my plan every couple of weeks to ensure I am working my entire body. Since joining Mint Condition Fitness I have gained muscle mass, reduced fat, reduced my blood pressure, improved my cardiovascular performance, and most importantly improved how i feel overall. Anytime I have any kind of physical issue crops up, my trainer adjusts my program to help work through the issue and also make improvements to help improve my body in that area. I really can't say enough good things about Mint. The people are great, the environment is supportive, and it is a place I look forward to going to for every session. Best of all - the program works for me and has got me going to the gym.

With only 4 classes (and more counting) under my belt, I find x2o Elite as a compliment to my current workout regime. I do Pilates a minimum of 4x week and having been doing so in 3 years, I feel like I've plateaued even with the various styles of trainers. Enter x2o Elite. It's a circuit style workout formated at 50 minutes, 5 students, and 1 trainer which honestly, the optimal size for me. It can't get any bigger (maybe 1 more) given the cozy size of the studio. All trainers have a friendly approachable and KNOWLEDGABLE style and there are various offerings: HIIT & Burn, Lift & Burn, Sculpt & Strength utilizing a squat rack, treadmill, free weights, TRX, SKiERG, etc. I did notice that there are only so few 5lb and 10lb weight dumbbells because... I'm weak and if there's another weakling like me-we're competing for use. There's also a cool little sauna which I don't know if/ when we can use? More of an observation rather than a comment: unlike the other studio, you can no longer get any visibility on how many other students are in your class (I hate beign a loner aka focused on lol). There's a restroom in the back. tl:dr: solid weight training gym for those who need guidance/ correction but don't like to get focused on the entire time. They do offer 1:1 if that's something you're interested in. No classes on the weekends (for now). Bring your own water bottle, wear proper shoes, and come ready to WERK.

I like this gym, it's a bit more like a club than purely a gym, but I don't really use the club…read morefacilities so the gym part is what I'm reviewing here. No tennis, no pool, no snack bar. Anyway, there are three key things for me when it comes to a gym. First is cleanliness, second is shower facilities, third is equipment. AVAC is a relatively small gym and I tend to go at off hours. This means not many people, so thankfully it's very clean inside. If you think about a 24 Hour Fitness or similar, they have hundreds of people constantly working out, there's no way to uphold hygiene standards. AVAC, despite being small, has frequent cleanings happening, which is nice. The showers at AVAC are... okay. On the plus side, they provide towels, which is a dealbreaker for me. Who wants to bring their own towel to a gym? So that's a big convenience factor. The towels have been bleached and washed to the point they are marginally more absorbent than copy paper and quite rough, but I guess a towel is a towel. The showers themselves are workable but not ideal. Communal in nature, which I personally find awkward, but going at off hours at least allows me to have them to myself or only 1-2 others at most. If it was packed I'd probably wait, it's just too weird. The shampoo and body wash are not very high quality, kind of reminds me of what you'd get at a cheap motel. But again, at least it's there. I also don't want to cart my own soap around. For the gym's size, the equipment variety and quantity is good. I've never not been able to get a treadmill, I've always been able to get the free weights I want, and there are usually benches available. The only thing in short supplies are squat racks, of which there are two, and space for deadlifts, which is basically also two. I would say the gym's clientele leans towards... not people doing those types of exercise. So I haven't typically had to wait, but again I also don't go at peak hours. There are also tons of machines, if you're the type of person who thinks isolation exercises are good. Better than nothing I suppose, but that's just me. AVAC offers a lot of free classes, of which I've taken none. They also have a snack bar, which I've never used. There's also a pool (not the swim school pool which is like 2.5' high) and a kiddie pool outside, neither of which I've been in. And there are tennis courts and pickleball and some outdoor fitness area, which, you guessed it, I have never been to. I wouldn't say AVAC is a destination gym the way Bay Clubs are, but if you're closeby it's probably the best one around. They also have plenty of parking in back in two lots.
