Driving back from Palm Springs on 5/31/15 stopped off in Banning to eat dinner at Sizzler, It was amazing steak dinners and salad bar very clean :-) Staff was very friendly all around great service I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great tasting dinner. Had my birthday party there last night. Food was up to Sizzler's standards. Our server, Kaycee, was great! No matter what we were doing, Kaycee stayed on top of things...we didn't run out of anything, she was there with a smile. The manager, I believe her name is Sue, gave us coupon discounts because the online post had not been updated.. Had a good lunch here today, had a really nice waitress who did an exceptional job concidering how busy they were. I mean busy, the line out the door. What was really nice was I heard our waitress Vanessa ask a gentlemen sitting next to us if his server was helping him. He said no, and I saw her look at his table and she said "I will help you" Now that's a great employee, she is really busy taking care of her tables, see's a gentlemen who needs some help, and just helps him. The only reason this is getting 3 stars is because our server Bernice was so very nice and the food was actually pretty decent. But a meal taking 25 minutes to get to our table is just ridiculous. Called the manager and instead of trying to find out what caused the problem was, he told us that it took that long to cook chicken and then ribs had to be grilled as well. When we called him on the fact that the ribs are pre-cooked and only had to be marked on the grill so they still need taken 5 to 10 minutes at the most he said quote well what do you want me to do about it and quote. No actual effort was made into addressing the problem, or in customer recovery. Worst manager ever read more

I love love love the service I receive when I come in this is my second time here. I was greeted by hostess Amanda whom is cheerful, bright and engaging. How awesome that she even remembered me even though it had been a month or 2 since my last visit. We were seated and our servers name was Amanda as well. Must run in the name because before I went to look up for her she was already here to see if we needed anything. Haven't been to a Sizzler in years and decided to stop in the one in Banning on my way from Indio to Colton to catch up on some computer work and have something different then a fast food hamburger.... I have to say I am blown away by not only the service but the freshness of the items in the salad bar, the variety, soup was hot and real M&M's at the desert bar !!! Vernice was my server and she was so nice, attentive and pleasant .... I sat here for well over 2hrs and regardless of who she was helping it was the same smile and tone of voice and that speaks volume.... And yes, the manager was working on the floor as well and whoever sang Happy Birthday to a customer had a beautiful voice.... Thank you Sizzler for a great meal and experience. read more

i should have made the rate higher if not for a not so good experience with one of the staff... sorry for those who were so nice esp our server & the mgr.. and from the front desk who took our order. it is not what she said but for how she made us feel that night. We came from a long drive and decided to eat at sizzler since its close to where we will stay... we were about to go, when we need a bag for our box... since we were close to the counter i thoughr the lady wiping those spoon and forks would help since she is there in the front already... but when we asked for a bag... she just said u can ask your server... she didnt even bother to help us and instead continued with what shes doing & ignored us. My first trip to a Sizzler was i think in El Centro, Calif. ..in Imperial Valley in the early 1960's. It had a menu of a few cuts of steak, fries and green salad with choice of three salad dressings. Very plain menu, reasonable price and good meat. My wife and I still eat at Sizzler .. for sure. Even in Hawaii. But the best Sizzler in our opinion is the Sizzler in Banning, Calif ! All of the comments made on food, cleanliness and staff is so true. read more

By far the best service. Drove 40 minutes from cats just to eat here. Our waitress, Christina, was kind and excellent. She always made sure our drinks were refilled and that we had everything we needed. She always had a smile, quick with coming back to the table with things we needed/ asked for. Her friendly personality made eating here even better. The manager, Jimmy, was excellent as well. He took our order, cracked some jokes, and stopped by after we finished our meal to make sure all went well. He has a wonderful work ethic, kind to his workers and costumers. Best Sizzler I have ever been too. Clean and great food . Bread pudding has never been my favorite dessert but I must add that this is the only place I will have two helpings from. Would be a 5star but every now and then things weren't as fresh as they could and should be , but I would recommend this particular sizzler to anyone in town or anyone passing by . Sizzlers are normally hit or miss and I'd have to say they are more miss than hit, but this one is 100% a hit. read more

You know, Sizzler restaurant was the bomb back in the 80's-90's and I always loved that salad bar and I have to say, I enjoyed it all over again last week! (Here's a little unknown secret, you can tell them to add a baked potato to your salad bar order for no extra charge and they will bring that out to you as ordered. The "butter guy" went a little cray-cray with the butter portion and must have worked at 31 Flavors before Sizzler but hey, 'A' for effort!) So the salad bar had all my faves, macaroni salad, lots of fruit salads, different lettuces and vegies and that UH-MAZE-ING thousand island dressing they always offered! YUM! They also had shredded pork and little warm corn tortillas to wrap it up with. There was guac and salsa and potato wedges and little chicken wings, which my husband loves. A great variety. You can even make a taco salad or burrito. And then there's the soft serve ice cream with choc or caramel sauc... MOMMA HAPPY. Thanks Sizzler in Banning for reminding me why I loved the restaurant back in the 90'S!!! We will be back! read more

We like to eat at Sizzler Restaurants when we travel because the food is usually passable and you can generally get in and out quickly if you choose the salad bar. We ate in this one the evening of April 14, 2013, and the food was ok, but the server crossed the line from being helpful to actively harassing us. We were attempting to have a serious conversation, but she repeatedly interrupted us to ask if she could take our plates or bring us anything. After the third or fourth time she had cut off and talked over the guest who was speaking we began stacking used plates near the edge of the table and laying a crumpled napkin on top of the pile in an attempt to signal this rude person that we were through with them and she was welcome to take them. Yet she continued to ask if we were finished and seemed to take pleasure in interrupting and talking over speakers. Although some of us weren't finished eating yet, we finally gave up trying to eat and attempted to finish our conversation. She had been alternating between asking if she could get us anything, and instead of quietly picking up obviously used plates she continued to ask if we were finished. After we had given up trying to eat in peace and there were no more plates to be removed we attempted just to continue our conversation. Yet she kept coming back every few minutes asking if she could bring us anything. We wanted to select something (ourselves) from the dessert bar at that restaurant, but we finally gave up on that too and went down the street and bought ice cream bars at a drug store. It definitely was the most unpleasant experience in a Sizzler ever. We found much better places to eat in Banning. read more

I had visisted from Canada in May of 2010 and had a wonderful experience. I came back this week and ate there tonight (august 6,2012).. What a mistake! It was the worst meal I have eaten. They have changed the salad bar,,,less to offer. I am not sure what kind of meat they use at their hot food bar, but both my husband and I had stomach upsets as soon as we returned home. This is the best Sizzler you will find. Salad bar always clean, well-stocked, and fresh! My husband and I especially love the Angus Beef Steaks. They are always cooked to perfection, tender, juicy, and delicious. The baked potatoes are always right on. We have had cold, undercooked baked potatoes at other restaurants, but Sizzler always gets it right. Love the atmosphere and decor at the Banning Sizzler...the best you will find. The wait staff is always attentive and cheerful, and anxious to grant your request. AMANDA IS THE BEST, along with CAROL, AND VERNICE. Try it, you'll LOVE IT! We have visited this Sizzler many times over the past few years. Normally, I think I would rate it four stars, but after today's visit it's only going to get three. We went during the Sunday brunch and it was pretty awful. I mean, the normal food on the salad bar was fine (chicken wings, salad, soup, etc). The brunch food, however, was bad. My daughter wouldn't eat the pancakes and she normally loves pancakes everywhere we go. They were tasteless, along with the french toast. My hubby called it soggy, tasteless bread. The bacon was not crispy at all. The cinnamon rolls were ok but that's about it. I didn't get an omelette since I remembered going there on a different time during brunch and the omelette took forever to get. Our service today was horrible. Our waitress was an older black woman and she didn't bring plates or get us refills. She offered us refills as we were about to leave. We normally get mints and a balloon for our child but not this time. Very disappointing. Don't go during brunch if you can help it. Other times that we've been during weekday lunch have been fine. They do a good job of keeping the salad bar filled with food and normally the service is good. read more

I was on vacation in California and with my family and we decided to stop in for dinner. I was immediately impressed by the cleanliness of the restaurant. We were seated in a timely manner. The waitstaff was friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. I was amazed that the manager actually came to our table to ask us how everything was. I believe his name was jimmy.
