This place was lovely! We were traveling through town on our way home from a wedding, and the name sounded cute. It turns out the restaurant is, indeed, cute as well! Prepare for lots of chicken decor and country charm. We visited on a Sunday, and it was very busy. There was a longish wait, but staff knew the drill and found ways to keep everyone calm and happy as they waited. My kids got the pancakes, which came decorated as chicks--with a candy corn beak and m&m eyes. My own brunch was less exciting--a breakfast casserole that sounded amazing on the menu but was just okay in execution. The kids also got coloring pages with chickens on them, and various completed chicken coloring pages adorned parts of the restaurant. Overall we had a lovely experience. I'd definitely recommend visiting Six Chicks. read more

I have eaten here three times in a week. Biscuits and gravy are popular. Hubby enjoyed the Farmers hash. I stick to eggs, bacon, bread and pancakes. Pancake batter is delicious. Bread is house made and lovely. Cinnamon rolls are ginormous. Only open to 2pm. Busy all the time. Parking is an issue each time. We park at hardware and walk up. Servers are friendly. Overall nice addition to SoHa. read more

One of my favorite breakfast places to eat in south haven! Typical American style diner food but every time we have gone it's been extremely good. I love their omelets are huge, and they make an awesome bbq pulled pork sandwich. You have to also get their homemade cinnamon roll, it's delicious! The only negative thing is you may have to wait a while to be seated or to get your food if they are full. The kitchen isn't big enough for the size of the restaurant so be prepared and be patient. read more

Really good breakfast! I had the waffle and he had an omelette and a pancake. We both loved it and man was it the biggest omelette I've seen - lol so come hungry! Cute little diner and the server was really good! read more

The food here is amazing. Cute diner feel with the nicest staff. We went there when they had only 2 servers and about ~14 tables full. The service, the food, everything was impeccable. The veggierito was out of this world. Eggs were perfect, not dry and the hash browns perfectly cooked. read more

Was so happy to find a breakfast restaurant that offered gluten free options! The zucchini bread waffle was delish!! Will definitely return if we vacation in this area again. Was a great place for kids as well. My husband had the farmers hash and said it was amazing and our kids loved the cinnamon rolls. Just expect to wait a little for a table as it's a popular place to eat, we went on a Saturday and after putting our name in we spent our time waiting at the farmers market next door! read more

After a long Sunday morning bike ride on the Kal-Haven Trail, we decided to try Six Chicks for breakfast/brunch. When we arrived around 11:30 AM, there were multiple small groups of people waiting. This was a good sign that it was at least popular. We had a 25-30 minute wait which was acceptable to us. Once seated, we were greeted promptly, beverage order taken, and we reviewed the extensive menu. My spouse ordered the California omelette (scramble) and I ordered one of the breakfast specials, a vegetable quiche. We were thrilled with both dishes because they were both fresh and had a rich, creamy texture and flavor. Bottom line: forget those other reviews that ding this place for one unpopular employee or spotty service. Six Chicks has a solid menu, reasonable prices, and they know what they are doing. Sure, the service wasn't perfect, but everyone was working hard to please us. It was well worth the wait and we look forward to returning for another meal. read more

Simply delicious. A friend suggested it and we are so glad they did. Everything everyone ordered was wonderful. Be sure to start and end your meal with their cinnamon roll. It is worth every single calorie. As I write this, I am starting to wish I grabbed one for the road. They are THAT good. I didn't take any food photos as I was so hungry and everything tasted so good. Service was awesome as well. Bonus, they have their own parking lot, which is a big deal in this crowded tourist town. read more

What a wonderful breakfast/brunch/lunch kitchen! The staff were super friendly even though it was very busy. The food was delicious. I had the pulled pork sandwich and sweet potato fries and my husband had the country fried steak. Everything was clearly made from scratch and very good. It is the best breakfast spot in South Haven and I'm a resident, so I've checked out a few. I can't believe it took me this long to try out Six Chicks! read more

We had a sisters/cousins weekend in South Haven, MI. We had brunch at Six Chicks Scratch Kitchen after Mass. What a great place! I don't normally eat breakfast/brunch out, but this was absolutely fabulous. The food was wonderful, the service was great! Our waitress was so very much accommodating and friendly. I would recommend this fantastic place to anyone. Way to go Six Chicks! read more

Just the best! Great variety and new age food! Always friendly and the food never disappoints! My friend who lives out of town called me in a gift certificate for my birthday as she knows I am a frequent flier. Do not forget to order the cranberry walnut bread just delicious. Servers have been there and are experienced! A little wait but worth every minute! read more

If you come here then you need to get a cinnamon roll. They have different options and they are huge! We had a bigger table so we got a few and all split them. If you just order one for yourself you will probably need a box. I ordered the Veggierito which was also a pretty big serving size. You could probably split this with someone as well. Everyone working there was super friendly and helped each other out. Awesome family environment. read more

Great little restaurant that offers an abundance of delicious breakfast options! Great Service, awesome healthy options, delicious coffee!

The food was okay and wasn't too expensive. We sat at our table for 40 minutes after we placed our order and our server never checked on us. We had to ask the hostess for a drink refill . When I asked our server about our order we were told it was misplaced in the kitchen. Server was friendly but I would rather you be attentive. Won't be back. read more

We came for breakfast on Sunday July 26. We had 6 people and waited a short time. The servers wore masks and the tables were socially distanced. All was Good. The FOOD was excellent. I would give the food 5 stars. I had the Mediterranean omelet which was perfectly done and yummy. The pancakes were delicious and fluffy. The hash browns were very good although I did ask for extra crispy and they were not (but they were still good). My wife had scrambled eggs which were done perfectly ( not over cooked and dry) and her breakfast potatoes were excellent. She loved the big juicy sausage links. The coffee was very good. The kids loved their pancakes and bacon. So why, after raving on how good the food was, would I give it only a 3. They get a 1 for service. There were 3 servers, 2 helpers and a manager which was plenty for the number of tables. It took a long time for us to even get coffee. Other people, who arrived and ordered omelets after we did, had finished eating and left before our food came. When the food arrived, we asked if we could have silverware and we were asked how many we wanted. There were 6 people and 0 eating utensils-not even a spoon to stir coffee. To avoid a discussion about rocket science math, we said 6. Speaking of coffee, it was great coffee except we had to beg for a refill-twice out of two times. Getting Water was just as exciting. We decided that when they brought our original mug, we were lucky to have any coffee in the mug. So, I wavered between a 5 because the food was so good and a 1 because food is no good if we can't get it. Really sad. read more

Fresh. Fast. Friendly! What else can you ask for? Midwestern homemade meals with a sw Michigan taste of home. They never fail to deliver. The coffee is eye opening good! Every bite is better than the last. My eggs over-easy were spot on...reminded me of my granny's cooking. read more

We heard this was a good place to stop but our waitress wasn't the friendliest, never came back after we got our drinks, the two families that got seated after us got their food, ate it, and left before our waitress came back or before we even got our food. We were patient. We were there for close to an hour and a half before we got our food. Not happy. Won't be returning read more

Stop in here on on a Thursday for breakfast. The service was friendly and attentive with a coloring page and crayons for my son. I had biscuits and gravy with eggs which were ok. My wife had poached eggs with house fries and sausage patties and our son had the pancake with a sausage which was tasty. We will be back and I will update. There is both plenty of seating and parking with the lot on the north side of the building. No doubt this place will be a hit in the summer months. read more

Had my first bad experience here today. Brought a group of six (visitors from out of town) and had raved about the restaurant. The hostess forgot about us and we ended up sitting separate from our guests. The good thing was when I brought this to the attention of one of the owners she took action right away and got us seated. They also messed up the order of one of my guests. First time that happened too! Hopefully this is not a new trend because I like thus restaurant, just didn't appreciate the smugness of the hostess. read more

Excellent breakfast. Great service My husband and I enjoyed our meal. The menu is creative and fun. I highly recommend visiting Six Chicks. read more

The wait was approximately 30minutes, understandably so! The menu is full of options and everything is made fresh. I actually ordered the corned beef hash at first (was told the beef was shredded), but it came out as cubed. I asked our waitress, who I believe is also the manager (Donna), if I was mistaken, but I was not and she apologized immediately and didn't hesitate to comp my order and expedite my next choice, even though she didn't have to - I'm just picky when it comes to my breakfast. In the meantime, I tasted my dad's farmer's hash and it was amazing - so much flavor! My second choice, couldn't go wrong, was the classic breakfast with cheesy scrambled eggs, hash browns, and a pancake. All was great. Let's not forget their cinnamon rolls - different flavors and all. We got the classic and it was 10/10. Super cute joint and overall great, accommodating, and tasty experience! Will definitely be coming back when we visit again! Ps: my dad decided to eat the corned beef hash after he finished his plate lol - he was not disappointed himself! read more

Food was good and plenty of it. The cinnamon rolls were fabulous, even bought one to take home. Service was good until...we were asked to leave. Apparently when you spend $60 for 2 breakfasts you're expected to leave as soon as the waitstaff thinks you're done. Wow! So much for enjoying an expensive breakfast and finishing my coffee. read more

Came for a meal around lunch time and most of our party was excited to be able to still get breakfast. I was happy to get to have a salad! The restaurant is decorated very cute and tasteful and clean as a whistle. Service was fast and efficient and the food was delivered quickly. The breakfast omelette was very large and must have had 5 eggs, my salad was so huge I had them bring me a take out box and saved half of it for lunch the next day! Looks like a lot of locals come here which says a lot for the place. Would eat there again for sure! read more

We were in South Haven to pick blackberries and got the recommendation to try Six Chicks for breakfast, so happy we did. The food and staff were great. From the coffee to the entrees, everything was done perfectly. Over easy eggs were just right and the omelet was light and fluffy, delicious. One of the biggest cinnamon rolls were placed on our table, and the aroma of cinnamon and sugar were too tempting not to ask for a taste. That thing was as big as my head. Biscuits were light and fluffy, covered with a wonderfully peppered gravy with plenty of sausage in it. Everything was just as ordered and the staff were extremely attentive. Ask for the cranberry walnut toast and I bet you go home with a loaf. read more

The worst experience I have ever had. The lady Donna I think was rude as if she was doing us a favor. The wait was so long, my son canceled order. Then when I said something about it the lady said well what did you want me to say. Then she go on to say how hard it is and my mom said maybe you should not work so many days if it's much. She told my mother maybe she shouldn't come back. This was my very first visit and I cannot rate the food because we did not eat after the lady couldn't even accept that we were waiting 45 minutes or more for food. read more

I'm usually pretty hesitant about restaurants in south haven, but this place was good. It's relatively new and I hope it stays in business, it's one of the better breakfast places in the area. I had the blazin' omelette, which had spicy chorizo, jalapeños, cheddar and tomatoes. It wasn't as spicy as I anticipated but tasted great. Their coffee was very good too, better than your average restaurant coffee. read more

30 minutes wait to get in due to Covid which couldn't be avoided. Staff super friendly. It took about 15 to 20 minutes for someone to take our order, food took a long time to get even with only two of us dining. Table of 3 got their food in less than half the time we got ours. Bacon looked like it had been sitting for quite a while. Overall, not impressed and probably won't be back. read more
