Don't let the look of this place fool you... its located inside a car audio store. So the PC repair shop is a room inside an actual store. But these guys know what they are doing and seem to be legit. I just had one of the drives in my PC installed by these guys and they did a good job. OK here's the story... I called them after i found the # on yelp and went in for a free estimate/consultation. Then they replaced the drive but it didn't work... so he tried installing a different brand of drive in my PC and viola! It worked! My out the door cost for the CD drive, Master cable, and labor was $50.00. Pay them cash and these guys take care of the tax. Nice. The technician also showed my exactly what was put in my PC and the details of the procedure among other technical aspects of the job. Really helpful and polite and personable service. read more

I took my Alienware laptop to Alan after spilling some beer on it a couple weeks back. I explained to him how the touch pad and keys on the keyboard were not working properly and he was able to diagnose the problem within just a few minutes. He was very professional, courteous, polite, and knowledgeable and was able to find and order a replacement keyboard and touch pad within about 15 minutes. He explained the repair process to me in detail and assured me that he could get the repairs done on the same day the parts arrived. The parts came into his shop about a week and a half later and I dropped the laptop off for him to work on it around 1:20pm. True to his word he finished the repairs and I was able to pick it up at 6:20pm the same day. The laptop now works even better than before and he even cleaned it up a bit and had it looking like a brand new machine when I got it back! Alan truly does awesome work, is honest, and charges a fair price! He saved me from possibly having to invest in a brand new laptop. I found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try. Alan was very nice and patient. After I told him the problem, he told me that this was something that he can fix and told me the cost. I went back this morning and not only he fixed the problem, but also he found out that there were a few small screws were missing and fixed them at no cost. I took my another laptop with me this morning because one of the key was off the key board. He fixed it and no cost. Amazing ! When I was looking at other places to get my LCD screen repaired, they told me that i would have to buy the screen myself and then take it to their store to be fixed. To buy the screen alone is more than what Site X Computer charged me. This place may be located in a car stereo store, but like they say "Don't judge a book by its cover." When I went in, the two gentlemen were very friendly and helpful! The one who actually worked on my laptop told me if he didn't have the screen for my laptop in stock that it would take a week for me go back to pick it up. Which was fine with me, I wasn't in a rush. An hour later I get a call saying he had the part in stock and that I can pick it up the next day! They get an A+ in my book. I took my PS3 here for repair. I was in a hurry and asked him to put a rush on it as I was willing to pay the extra fee. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to finish the repair in the timeline provided and took extra days. When I went to pick it up he still wanted me to pay the rush fee, even though he did the work in the standard timeline. Also, communication is a real problem here. He says one thing and ends up doing something else. For example, I'd ask him what time to come pick it up and his answer was always maybe around 4. I'd show up at 4 and it wasn't done and I would have to come back tomorrow at 4. This happened twice. I was able to talk him into taking less than the rush fee but it still wasn't the standard repair fee. Also, he overclocked the fan so that it ran at full speed all the time. This made the PS3 so loud you couldn't hear the TV in my house. I called to tell him I wanted him to undo whatever it was he did. He never called me back, and i ended up fixing it myself. This guy also works out of the back corner of a cell phone shop in the not so nice part of town. Not that that's a big deal but it certainly didn't help in the confidence area. He also has a cute little dog who runs around the shop floor and is very sweet. Sadly, this poor dog looks like she has never been to the groomer nor had a bath in the last year or so. This pushed it over the edge for me. TAKE CARE OF YOUR DOG MAN! Long story short. I dont think I will be back, ever. read more

They saved my day! I was overwhelmed with prep work that I absolutely had to get done over the weekend so that my project team could proceed Monday morning. I'd been using my laptop on battery power. When I needed to use my AC adapter, I couldn't plug it into the laptop. The piece inside the socket was broken or bent or something. This happened Friday evening. So, Saturday I was on a quest to find a shop that was open, where there was a technician in the shop, that had parts on site, and that would turn it around quickly. Believe me, that was not easy! I'd called and/or gone by places in San Jose, Fremont and Redwood City. I found Site X on Yelp. I almost missed them since they are located inside a car audio store. Anyway, I explained how desperate I was to have my laptop fixed. The technician, Alan explained that he was the only one there & he didn't know how busy they'd be, but he was sympathetic, and told me he'd do what he could. I left the laptop with him. He was able to get it fixed by the end of the day, and charged me a very reasonable "rush" rate. I was very happy to be able to finish the tasks for my project and I did not hold up the team's progress at work Monday morning. read more

I got referred to this place by a friend who took his broken ps3 to get fixed. BIIGEST MISTAKE EVER. Here's the short version I go speak to Alan he quotes me a price, says 5-7 days. I call 1 week later he informs me it wasn't what he thought the problem was, it was the laser, it will cost less, come by pick up another guy Bernardo will be there. I pick it up take it home, doesn't work. I bring it back next day Bernardo says he will look into the problem and call me. He never does, I call him , he says the system is overheating and it causing it to shut down, he can mod the outer case and upgrade the fan but its guaranteed to fix the problem and will only cost 40 extra bucks. I agree saying as long as its fixed I don't care. We meet later that day. I take it home guess what? It still doesn't work. Now my Playstation 3 has holes in it and its louder than an airplane engine and I'm out another 40 bucks on top of 90 and my machine still doesn't work. Mad I go back on Monday after back and forth, he tries offering me a different play station. I tell him no I paid for MY play station to be fixed or give me all my money back. He asks to look at it again. I agree. A day goes by no word. Finally on Wed I show up asking for an update. He says "oh well the laser we put in originally, was defective, I'll replace it" I go by later that day to pick it. Up I bring up the fact he charged for an extra 40 bucks to turn my play station into Swiss cheese and louder then an air conditioning. And why should I pay for his mistake.. He then says well as he was replacing the laser, the hard drive failed and the whole system crashed and he had to flash the bios and he put in a bigger hard drive that alone costs 90 bucks, that justifies the extra cost. I ask for my old bad hard drive back, he gives it to me and I leave angry as I just wanted the whole thing to be done and my system working again. But I get home and the system works as it should, but its louder then hell. Less then a month later the hard drive he put in crashes. I go back and see the original guy I saw Alan, he asks If I have my original drive(the one Bernardo said crashed), I do, he puts it in and it works just fine. So in summary the guy gets an extra 40 bucks out of me by drilling holes in my playstation, putting in a faulty drives that fails after 20 days and then making my playstation fan so loud I could not take it anymore so I'm selling it. I don't think the Bernardo works there anymore and the owner Alan apologized saying he was on vacation when this all happened and he couldn't fix the damage that Bernardo did to my system.. But still after wasting 2 weeks of my time, an extra 40 dollars of my money (for no reason)and numerous trips to the shop, I can only feel I was ripped off 40 bucks after this whole ordeal. I wont be going back Also Bernardo I guess has his own repair shop out in San Jose, avoid it like the plague!! read more

I lagged at reviewing this place. I went in a few months ago to have my external drive checked out since it stopped working when it fell. Was expecting to spend a lot to have the data recovered, but after a few minutes in the back the technician said all that was required was a new enclosure connector that can be purchsed at frys. I was happy at first when i took my Laptop in and my Ps3 the guy told me it would be done from 3-5 business days great. 6 business days later I called to see if they were fixed their respond i will be done by tomorrow never received a call. So i decided to walk into the store 3 days later to see if they were finally fixed the guy brought my computer out and it was fixed but some how they managed to screw up my ps3. Before i turn it in to the store the ps3 turn on for a good 20 minutes now it wont turn on for more thn 5 seconds. I had high expectations for this shop know im left with a broken ps3 and i received my laptop 5 days later after the promised date. I really needed my laptop fixed as soon as possible i let the guy know 3 different times and it looks like he didn't care. To top it off i just notice they returned me my ps3 with scratches on it. Worst experience at a repair shop. Never walking in that store again i hope the owner or manager read this so they may improve their customer service. read more
