We mentioned right away that we're moving in a couple of months and weren't planning on purchasing anything just yet, so we truly didn't expect such an incredible level of customer service. Justin immediately greeted us and was SO friendly and welcoming. He took the time to ask us questions about our sleeping preferences, comfort needs, and what we were looking for in a mattress so he could help us find the best fit. He made the entire experience feel very warm, personal, and comfortable -- not like a typical sales interaction at all. He walked us through the store, let us try different mattresses, explained the different materials and options, and answered all of our questions. What really stood out was how honest and helpful he was -- he never tried to upsell us or pressure us into making a purchase. Instead, he gave us genuine advice and even suggested that we consider purchasing a mattress closer to where we'll be moving. He also explained the differences between local mattress brands and the bigger name brands, which helped us better understand what we were looking at and what to consider when making such an important purchase. We ended up finding a mattress we really loved, and Justin was even kind enough to write down the exact name and model for us so we would have it when we're ready to buy. I honestly wish we received this kind of friendly, thoughtful service everywhere we went! This interaction truly made our day so much better, and we really appreciate the time and kindness Justin showed us even though we weren't ready to purchase yet. We hope to come back soon when we're ready to purchase our mattress, and we highly recommend anyone looking for a mattress to stop by and give My Mattress Family a visit. From the beginning, the seat cushions have been much too soft and have never provided proper support. When I sit on the sofa, I sink deeply into the cushions instead of being supported. The lack of firmness causes my hips to drop, leaving my lower back unsupported. It has become so uncomfortable that I have gotten up with significant back pain, and on one occasion I was literally doubled over after sitting on it. The company has replaced the foam cushions twice, but neither replacement solved the problem. The sofa continues to sag, and the seating support has never been what I expected from a new piece of furniture. The most disappointing part has been the lack of a permanent resolution. After multiple repair attempts, I expected someone to take ownership of the problem, thoroughly inspect the sofa, determine whether the issue is the foam, the cushion construction, or the support system underneath, and make it right. Instead, I still have a sofa that is uncomfortable to sit on despite repeated attempts to fix it. A sofa is a major investment, and I expected it to provide lasting comfort and support. Unfortunately, that has not been my experience. They have not stepped up or reached out to me to resolve this matter. I see that David L, the owner, stated 'glad to make your shopping experience pleasant. We look forward to seeing you again.' First off, David and Jesse are knowledgeable and professional, and it's obvious they take pride in what they do and have great concern and care for their customers. It's not just a job for them! Jesse delivered the couch himself 3 days after we bought it. He was efficient and careful, and did it all with smiles and professionalism. Through no fault of the store, however, the couch we bought had a manufacturer defect and so did the replacement that was first sent. It took us about a week and a half to finally get the couch we paid for. With the impact on us financially due to the amount we invested in it, of course we were more than concerned and worried. But, through the whole situation, David and Jesse were prompt to get answers for us and were on the phone frequently with the manufacturer on our behalf. David called us several times himself to update and reassure us. He had great concern for us, and wanted to make sure we were happy and satisfied with our purchase. You just don't get this kind of customer service from a big box store, and especially not from the likes of Amazon. I always wondered why this small shop on the corner of Seaward and Main has been there for what seems like forever. Now I know why! I highly recommend The Couch Potato, and David and Jesse for your furniture needs - trustworthy, friendly, professional, and caring service. We will come here again when the need arises. My wife and I are very happy with our purchase. We strongly believe, David Stengel's business expertise and personality had to do with our positive customer experience at Sit and Sleep in the Oxnard Outlet shopping center. He asked us what our needs were, and not just budget; he took his time to listen to us. He did not take over the conversation. I will always remember what David shared with my wife and I because he really knows his business. We also purchased the packet to care for our product. Buying an excellent bed is also an investment we wanted to protect. This store sells big brand items, that have been in business since 1800's, for a reason, because they stand firm behind their research and products. You can get the deal you want at this store! The Sit and Sleep company is interested in assisting you with your needs on any budget. David is a very kind, considerate individual. We believe in working with people like him. Even before I entered the store, I phoned the Sit and Sleep phone number twice ;and every representative who answered, was knowledgeable, hospitable and treated me like I was a respected person. They also connected me to the Oxnard Outlet store, and did not give me the phone "run around". Chris answered the phone and took his time to answer all of my questions, even while on the phone. Our bed was delivered for free the next day. This business follows through with what they verbally state and how they report on paper. read more

Our whole shopping experience was exceptional. We visited the store during their Labor Day Sale and Robert Flores was our sales rep. Honestly we were so impressed with their mattress selection technology because you lay on a mattress that measures your bodies and helps you select the correct product for your needs. Mattress shopping is pretty difficult but having that "cutting edge" mattress thingy was the bomb. Another thing we greatly appreciated was that Robert was very helpful and knowledgable about the mattresses but at the same time he wasn't pushy and didn't hover over us. It made us feel comfortable taking our time, yet he was available when we needed him. He took wonderful care of us when we finally sat down and signed our paperwork. In a world where customer service isn't prevalent Robert is a true prize. Finally when the day came for us to receive our mattress delivery I was DELIGHTED!! Felipe and Byron were perfect. They were friendly and funny and very professional. They handled the installation easily and took the time to show me how our new adjustable frame worked. They also cleaned up very well after they completed the delivery. Overall we are so satisfied with our purchase from beginning to end! read more

I truly believe that a good nights sleep can make or break your entire day. That being said, I have always wanted to invest in a GREAT mattress, however, I've always been deterred by the cost associated with such a good mattress. I went into sit and sleep today just to take a look. The sales rep Ken came up to us and immediately made us feel like we had someone that really understood what we wanted. He explained the difference between all the different types of mattress', let us take our time feeling and lying down on each one, and was so knowledgable in his field. We finally found one we LOVED, but it was a little out of our price range. Ken said "no problem" and immediately went to work on getting us a great deal. Not only did we get our dream mattress, but we got it for LESS than our budget! I couldn't be happier with the service, the product, and the over all experience. I would happily recommend this store to anyone looking to improve their nights sleep. read more

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Sit 'n Sleep and I have to say, I was thoroughly impressed with the level of service provided by the staff, particularly Justin. From the moment we walked in, he was extremely flexible in allowing us to try out multiple mattresses to find the perfect one for us. He was also extremely knowledgeable about the technical aspects of each mattress, which helped us make a well-informed decision. The store had a great selection of mattresses to choose from and the prices were very reasonable. The overall atmosphere was very welcoming and comfortable. We were given the time and space to make our decision without any pressure, which we really appreciated. My wife and I visited the store and really didn't know what to expect? Alex was our sales person and expert on mattresses. We had no idea how much engineering goes into mattress technology. The store is in a good location, very clean and comfortable to be in. We had not bought a mattress in about ten years. I really had not thought about how many decisions there are in choosing style, manufacture, and price. After about spending five minutes with Alex I knew we were in good hands. He has a great personality and took his time with us on helping with narrowing our decision's. Very informative and really patient while explaining terminology and process of manufacturing. After making our decision, the financial portion of the transaction was just as pleasant. My wife and I recently went to Sit N Sleep because I was hating our current mattress and never getting a good night's sleep. A friend referred us there and said to be sure to see David Stengel and they were correct in telling us that he was a great salesperson. Not pushy at all - just very informative and asked what we were looking for and showed us what would work best for us within our budget. It was more important to us to have a great mattress that would work for a long time so we were willing to spend a little more if we needed to. We ended up purchasing a king Tempur-pedic with an adjustable base and we LOVE it! I haven't had a backache since and sleep like a baby and so does my wife!. Nowadays, it is difficult to shop at a store you really trust. However, my recent visit to Sit 'n Sleep demonstrates how much they pride themselves on customer service. This pride is portrayed by employees like Robert Flores, who proudly represents Sit 'n Sleep and the branch he serves in Oxnard, CA. My wife and I recently went to purchase a new mattress set at the Sit 'n Sleep store in Oxnard. Robert waved us right over, and carefully analyzed our preferences. He used his knowledge to find us the perfect piece of comfort and the best product to serve our needs. Robert created such a positive experience for us. He truly exceeded our expectations! We were lucky enough to have David Stengel help us select a mattress set. My husband Steve and I have been in need and dreading the thought of trying to figure out what to get for a good nights sleep. We tried different mattresses and then the adjustable base came into play. David was more than patient, super nice and a knowledgeable salesman . What we were dreading turned out to be a great experience. We purchased a Temper-Pedic and an adjustable base. The remote control is really nice and very easy to use. Sit 'n Sleep was the absolute best place we shopped for a mattress. When we first arrived, we didn't know a lot about what we were looking for. Marty was an amazing resource gave us a full education and showed us a lot of great options. We didn't buy then because we wanted to keep shopping around. Months later, after shopping at nearly every store that sells mattresses from Goleta to Ventura, we wanted to go back to Sit 'n Sleep. At our second visit, Chris showed us a few new options, and we got our favorite mattress for a price that we couldn't get anywhere else. We also got a protector, two pillows and sheets! We had an excellent experience. The first mattress we choose was way too firm. I wrote a letter to corporate and the charge for return was waived. It took us 2 months to finally choose the exact right mattress for us. Marty Meredith, the store manager, was so helpful. He gave us a great deal and we are so grateful to get an excellent night's sleep again. PS We did do the diagnostic bed surface but it didn't work for us. I didn't find the prices out of line for the quality of the mattress. You can go to Costco for a better deal, but you can't try out the mattress and the return policy is not what we received. I'm a pretty no-nonsense type of guy when it comes to shopping around for the essentials of everyday life. While many of my friends and family enjoy doing massive amounts of research into every aspect of the pros and cons of something as simple as King-sized sheets, I prefer to keep the acquisition process simple, quick, and reasonably priced. What a delight, then, to stumble into Sit 'n Sleep and get in and out the door with a heavily discounted set of king-sized sheets in less than 10 minutes. The sales gal was quite helpful and relaxed about me only being in the market for sheets, as opposed to an entire bed. We had a great experience buying our new mattress there. We did our research up front for the best price, quality and right size to fit the existing box spring. We were replacing a 20 yr old waterbed top to hopefully be a bit better for our backs. The Oxnard store had sold us a smaller mattress for a different bed - a futon - which we needed to add height during hip surgery recovery. David Stengel was still working there. He let us check out many different mattresses. We were still in the computer system - the mattress arrived in 3 days. The delivery guys took away the old mattress (that we drained in advance) in about 5 minutes. That was 3.5 weeks ago and we are very happy with the mattress. read more

It is time to replace my bed since I figure I've had it almost 20 years. I just loved it so much, that I hadn't thought of getting a new one until it was no longer comfortable to lay in bed on Saturday and Sunday mornings! I knew exactly what I wanted: another Sealy Posturepedic. I went to Sit 'n Sleep, and David Stengler helped me. He showed me right to the mattress I was looking for, and it happened to be 50% off. He showed me how it had been improved with individually wrapped coils since I bought the last one, and urged me to try it out. It was great! I receive shopping at this location. Thank you Javier for helping me find a great mattress!
