Small and cute Thai place I saw was doing a Berkeley Restaurant Week, didn't end up ordering from that menu and j did ala carte with my friend. So good! I got the kanom jeen dish, wasn't what I was expecting (am originally from Bangkok), I thought it would be the thicker orange soup/curry dish but still hit the spot on comfort and taste. My friend's dish was SO GOOD and she ended up taking it home and the smells of it in my car was savory and fragrant and made us both hungry again for it haha. We ordered the chicken wings, calamari, padseew. Yellow curry, crab fried rice & a dish they recommended (fried chicken, rice, roti and a yummy spicy curry dip). Everything was pretty good. Bill came out to $220 which they included gratuity of 20%. Restaurant isn't big so try and call for rsvp. I felt the service was just okay, seemed like we were an annoyance when we would ask for straws or extra utensils. Or maybe I'm just used to the amazing service at Krung Thai. read more

I have eaten at Sistory several times and have found the food absolutely delicious. The people couldn't be nicer with excellent service and it's a very friendly neighborhood style restaurant with very reasonable prices for the quality and amount of food you get. Had a great experience here! We came on a weekday and found out that the brunch menu is only available on weekends but they made an exception and let us order from the brunch menu anyways! The Thai tea pancakes were great! Very fluffy and moist with fresh fruit. We also ordered some appetizers/small bites and everything was great: crispy shrimp rolls (these were the best), chicken satay, house dumplings (great taste), and chicken wings. The main entree items are a bit high-priced, so we got intimidated and didn't try those. We got some cocktails and those tasted great too (albeit not too much alcohol in them!) It was my friend's birthday and she got a Thai tea tini on the house - that was so sweet of them!! Really good Thai food. I love the drunken noodles with a hint of spicy. Same with the pad Thai. Nice ambiance usually not too crowded.

Maybe dining in is a different experience but take out left much to be desired. I've never seen/experienced thinner curries (green curry chicken and roti w yellow curry) in my life. Literally a water consistency- not even broth consistency. Spice was correct- everything else, including grease levels (noodles and roti) for Thai food, a huge thumbs down. I think this place is a hidden gem because it's located on a busy street (limited parking). The decor inside is very colorful, bright, and homey. They food also tastes delicious and like it was home cooked (with love)! The servers were also super friendly and nice! Tried this place for brunch on a Sunday. Plenty of street parking, place has about 18 seats inside and 4 outside, about half full at 11AM. Friendly staff. They had specials for Berkeley Restaurant Week, I got the Sister Benedict with side of egg rolls. You walk in to this Thai food establishment and see these gigantic paintings of pale European women on the walls. The obsession with European beauty standards is everywhere. That should of been my red flag right there. I already felt a lil uncomfortable in this tiny establishment but the way the cashier greeted me vs how other patrons got this big ole smile should been my second red flag. I ordered their food from door dash tonight. Seriously good food! I was blown away since I normally order from a few high end expensive places near us. I was very pleasantly surprised. I only wished I had ordered extra peanut sauce for my pad Thai. We got the papaya salad, the fried tofu appetizer, the calamari appetizer, the Tom kha, and a few orders of Pad Thai with shrimp. I love this new Thai place that has opened where a different one used to be. The food is absolutely delicious. In my house, we love the Pad Kee Mao with Beef, Green Curry with Chicken, and Pad Thai with Chicken. We want to try more of the menu, but these dishes are so good that it's hard to stray. It's right around the corner, which is equal parts awesome and dangerous. We've eaten in and taken out numerous times. The service has always been extremely friendly. The spice levels are great (i.e., "medium" actually has some kick). So happy this placed opened nearby. We'll be back again and again! read more
