Today, my friend and I had a meal here around 4 PM. There were two female servers, and one of them was assigned to our table. The food was excellent, but the server's attitude left us feeling uncomfortable. She didn't respond to us, and when we asked for a lemon, she neither answered nor showed a pleasant expression. Most importantly, she cleared our table without asking, even though we hadn't finished our meal. Because of this, I had no choice but to leave her the lowest possible tip. The place is cute and quiet and seem to have lots of dessert options but their hot food items are not good at all. I ordered the Panang Salmon. It came out of the kitchen in, I kid you not, like 6 minutes and the fish was covered in the sauce but was dry, luke warm and old. Also the entire staff all looked unhappy and didn't even crack a smile. I honestly wouldn't even mind that if their food was at least good, but it wasn't. What a lovely find in the MoCo area!!! Had dinner here a month back and it was really wonderful. Unfortunately the library area was full when we got there, but we sat out back with some heat lamps. Given we had just finished a lovely hike over in nearby Great Falls, we were pretty ravenous and ordered a ton of food...way too much food! We shared the Papaya Salad, Roti Green Curry, Crispy Duck Ka Prow, Drunken Noodle, and another full-sized curry. So much food, all super delicious, and all worked great as leftovers the next day. Came here for a Friday late lunch. We ordered the wings, spring rolls, drunken noodles, and pad thai. Overall, I say the food here is pretty average when compared to other thai places in the area. I wasn't the biggest fan of my drunken noodles - the onions took over the dish and the noodles were over cooked. The pad thai was better tho, but that is not usually my go to at a thai restaurant. The spring rolls were again OK, but nothing special as well as the wings. The restaurant is nice and quaint with a pretty bar area and a cafe in the back. Food is very good. However, when I ate here with my family (2 adults and 3 kids), they added a 20% "service charge" for having 5 people. I've never seen a service charge for 5 people and up (including children), and they don't even have that policy clearly stated anywhere. Also, the servers all wear gloves for some reason. I doubt they are frequently changing them, which is the point of wearing gloves. So they're basically accumulating dirt and germs on their gloves all day and handling your food. But since they're wearing gloves, they perceive that their hands are clean and there's no problem with it read more

I came with a party of 8 and they seated us in the cute area right by the door. They lined the back with books and a high chandelier. Presentation and food was on point! I def recommend this place. The fried calamari with their house special sauce was so good and flavorful. Fried to perfection and very kid friendly. The waffle shaped roti was different from what I'm generally used to but again, crispy and great! You can also adjust the spice to your liking for those who prefer a stronger spice or less. Get. The. This restaurant has been on my list since they opened and it has been well worth the wait. The decor when you walk in is absolutely stunning, you feel like you are in the most glamorous library, of the most glamorous house, complete with little nostalgia items sprinkled throughout the restaurant to give you both an artsy aesthetic but also a really comfortable one. So, 10 points alone for decor. Just a flag that this also includes the bathroom, that had a cute flower wall and An over 100 mini perfume bottles in a glass case that just really sets the tone in the bathroom. I can't explain it, you have to see it. But to the food, 20 points awarded to Gryffindor for the food. the food was amazing!! We inhaled the Bikini shrimp, the chicken satay, the Ba Ring duck (sp?), a shrimp pad thai, and the drunken noodles with chicken. Everything was stellar!! Tasted exactly as a delicious Thai dish should taste and I'd elevate it simply for the freshness of all the ingredients. If you choose to go level four spicy, just know it is pretty spicy and if you're pregnant it won't be comfortable. The service was fast with many servers moving in and out of our little library corner, and always checking on your needs which felt nice. The drinks were also delicious we each had a Mocktail: we had the pomegranate, the lychee and the ginger I believe. The lychee was hands-down the best, although all were delish. This place was amazing! The ambience is super cute and suitable for a date or just a gathering with friends and they even have bar/outdoor options. I love how they also had a varied dessert and drink menu for the coffee hop aesthetic. We didn't get to try any of the desserts but we got the Ruby Lychee and Thai tea drinks which were excellent and flavorful. For our entrees we had the calamari which came with a delightful fish sauce dip, the drunken noodles and duck curry. Everything was perfect and our waitress was also super attentive. There are several Thai restaurants in Rockville but this one has been consistent in their food and drinks since opening while others have fallen off. We went there for a small bday dinner for my friend. The place is pretty cozy and everything is nice and clean. Their menu is pretty striking in the shape of a local newspaper. There is plenty of variety and with good reason. I had crispy duck in coconut milk, basil and other veggies. Super tasty. The portions were pretty decent for the price paid. I went to Sisters this summer and had a great experience. My husband and I were excited to return. We went for my son's birthday today. Our waitress left much to be desired. She was not rude or friendly. She rushed us to order and really was not at all pleasant. The food was very bland. Nothing we ate was good. We even had lemonade that tasted like water. It was my son's birthday and we brought a cake. We were told that we would have to pay $25 to cut the cake. We had already paid quite a bit for 5 entrees, 5 appetizers, 5 drinks plus a $42 tip which was added automatically, so this seemed ridiculous. We had to take the cake with us. I'm often in the Cabin John area because of the great trails/parks nearby, and I would consider myself somewhat of a regular at sister's. I was originally skeptical of this place because of their rating (not bad, but not exceptional), but I'm so glad I gave it a chance. This is an exceptional Thai place, both for dine in and takeout! When I came with my partner for dine in, we were seated quickly, even though it was peak dinner time. The inside of the restaurant is interesting-- it's meant to evoke the feeling of a homey living room, and it definitely accomplishes that. Service was great, they were attentive but not overly so. Now to the food-- my go to is the chicken pad see ew. It has a good amount of meat and veggies on top of wide rice noodles. It had a perfect amount of sauce, and it was a pretty big portion (I had enough for lunch the next day). My partner got the basil fried rice, which we both liked but we enjoyed the noodle dish the most. For dessert, we got the mango sticky rice, and I've gotten it every time since. It's a little pricey for the size, but the flavors are exceptional. The rice is a perfect chewy texture and the mango goes perfectly with it, fresh and sweet. Sisters was a visual treat and a warm haven on a cold winters day. The ambience inside is very cozy and set the scene for a good meal during the Christmas holiday weekend. My best friend suggested this place as she lives around the corner in Bethesda. I love good Thai food so we stepped on in. We started with the fried chive dumplings and Bikini shrimp. Both had a real depth to their flavor and were pleasantly light. The mains (not pictured) were Sisters Fried Rice and Drunken Noodles. Both came out steaming hot and had an even balance of our choice protein, veggies and noodles or rice. I loved the sauce on the drunken noodles. I have had themthem other places and Sisters is the best by far. Our server was so friendly and took time to explain the dishes and portion sizes to us. Everything came out relatively quickly. Since the table was limited in room, the server came back often and cleared what we had completed. Drinks were very tasty. I had two of the one pictured that I can't remember the name of and one Margarita since my friend didn't finish hers lol what can I say, I'm there when a friend is in need. i came here on a wednesday night with a friend around 7:30 pm. we had called ahead but they said they don't take reservations. we waited around ~15 min for a table. i really liked the ambiance inside - it felt very cozy as there were bookshelves lining the wall. it felt like dining inside someone's home or at a bookstore. i ordered the ruby lychee drink, which was very refreshing. the drunken noodles were pretty spicy (mild spice level) but thankfully i had the drink to chase it down with. my friend and i split a mango bingsoo, which i thought was just okay. the bingsoo had whipped cream, which i don't usually see with bingsoo, especially fruity ones. overall a pleasant dining experience with great drinks and food. i'd probably avoid the bingsoo next time though, but would be interested in trying another dessert. read more

Creativity all around at this thai restaurant! If you weren't aware, Sisters is a dual concept: one part thai food, one part desserts and drinks. We walked in and were immediately seated for the thai food portion. Inside is funkily decorated, kind of like your dining on the streets (but indoors), complete with newspaper style menus and marquee boards lighting up the place. I ordered the crispy duck ka prow and a drink that I unfortunately can't remember the name of (it did have pandan and an eggwhite foam on top!). The drink was nice, if you are into floral flavors it would be the drink for you! The duck ka prow was wonderful. Crisp exterior, tender interior slices of duck in a tasty sauce. With a side of rice, I cleaned my plate! My family also enjoyed their offerings as well (duck curry, pad thai, thai fried rice). Surprising considering many were not thai food fans to begin with. But this place was special enough to convert! Had we opted for dessert, there would've been plenty of choices to choose from considering the joint dessert place right next door. I got to try three different dishes, crispy duck curry, pottery shrimp, and pad see ew. I'm personally not a huge fan of thai curry, but crispy duck curry was good enough for me to eat it. And the best part about it was that the duck was actually really "crispy." I l don't think pottery shrimp was to my satisfactory though because the portion was kind of small, and I think it was a little overpriced. It was still good though. And you can't go wrong with a noodle dish at a thai restaurant. Pad see ew was good. I would come back for that one. Go check out their bathroom though. This was my redemption tour of Sisters. I ordered Pad Thai with shrimp for my son, dumplings the pork belly a chicken fried rice, and drunken chicken noodles. The speed of service was ok, but the intuition of the server was lacking. I said no tomatoes in both dishes. Both came with tomatoes. I requested no white onion in the rice, and the server didn't ask would you like them on the drunken noodles. The pork was cold and seemed to be something that was just made in bulk and set aside. Never, have I ever, seen a bathroom that is more exquisitely decorated as the one at this restaurant. So, the ambiance is great, onto the food. We started with Thai iced tea and dumplings. The dumplings were steamed and served hot in the basket. They came with a delicious dipping sauce. They were tasty and disappeared quickly. The Thai iced tea quenched our thirst. My son, got the salmon in curry sauce and he loved it. It was served with a variety of veggies in a bright Orange curry sauce. He said the level of heat was perfect for him. I ordered the Pottery Shrimp, which is shrimp with glass noodles, mushrooms, ginger, scallions, and crabmeat. It was excellent, but a tad bit heavy on the ginger. The portion size was generous and true confessions; my left over food from my lunch dish was quickly eaten for dinner. The service was excellent! The wait staff checked on our table frequently. First the positives: décor, atmosphere, service. The restaurant is tastefully decorated, well air-conditioned, restroom is very clean. Killer desserts (see images.) As far as the Thai food on offer, it totally misses the mark. Food lacks flavor, and what hints there are, are mismatched. I ordered Tom Yum soup with veggies, Thai spice level. What I got was what tasted like chicken broth, no lemongrass flavors, zero spice, bland enough to give to a flu patient. I wasn't able to eat it. I canceled my entrée crispy duck curry order, since the soup was a disaster. Upon taste testing others' in my party's dishes, my suspicions were confirmed that the food just isn't good. Drunken noodles were cold and tasted of a sweet/sour sauce unworthy of the lowest echelon comparably tasting sauces served in cheap Chinese takeout spots. It may be acceptable to the Bethesda Potomac crowd, where subpar food is l'ordre du jour, but a true Thai food enthusiast would walk away utterly betrayed. Prices are high compared to the food portions, and, as others have said, the minimum suggested tip is 20%. That's not only pretentious, but a bit of a slap in the face, all things considered. I was twice given dirty appetizers plates, which gives me pause for how clean of a food operation the establishment is. I'm leaving a generous 3 star review given the friendly service, and some people seem to like it. Again, place is clean and has a good atmosphere. Maybe good for a cold beer or cocktail, but not for dining. They charge $25 surcharge if you bring a birthday cake - not cool, not classy. Current Yelp rating is 3.9.
