I gave him my card and he continued to charge the card. After the screen went to the "tip" section, the kid took off, and returned demanding payment. I suppose he mistook me for being an American for an easy con. Fortunately the missus father is a banker from Mexicali and he questioned him. He said that he canceled the transaction and they he needed to take it again. He was then demanded to show the cancellation receipt that would have Ben printed out, but the kid said that no receipt was printed. He called his manager and we sorted things out. I'll still have to follow up with my bank to verify that no extra charges were placed on my card. Definitely a shame because the food was quite good.
