The bar is long and roomy with tables along the wall if you would rather face your friends or date. The look of the place looks kind of modern western with lots of wooden tables & benches outside. The crowd seemed to be younger Mexicali professionals (a lot less hipster than TJ). The beer was on point and rivals what you'd find throughout San Diego (waaay better price wise). I got the Russian Imperial Stout first. It's %12ABV strong but not too heavy or chalky. Next up was their tropical IPA but wait... China House in Mexicali sells caguamas so I was faded by the time I finished the first stout. I should've written down notes because I don't remember anything about the IPA other than I loved it. I wish I had just went to Fauna and skipped the Mexicali-Chinese food. I could've spent some serious time trying all their beers and food. Welp now I know !!! Definitely coming back on my next trip to Mexicali.

The staff is super friendly and doesn't hesitate to let you know about taps and types of beer. There is also a great outdoor area. I have been to Sume many times since that night. Recently, Baja has been going through a boom of home brewers and micro brewers. Last trip there they had some of these local flavors in bottle and on tap. Niiiiiiiice !! When it comes to nightlife, Mexicali has bars, clubs, and restaurants, that become hot and cold very quickly. Sume is still standing.
