Mr Pampas is a great time for any meat lover. They have a huge selection of meats that they will prepare at your request. That is not something I realized at the time but I found later. There is also a large food bar with MANY options. I do recommend brushing up on your espanol though, it'll make the experience mucho mejor. Another cool thing is that the have a waitresses with different alcohol beverages (at additional costs). Also there was a decrease in price after a certain time but I'm not sure if this is a normal special. Now to the comparisons, the meats are cooked medium from what I could tell. Some Brazilian steak houses tend towards the medium rare side but not Pampas although you could probably ask. All the meats felt a little more fatty than some of the other steakhouses I've been to, not saying they don't have those better cuts of meat but I also never asked for them so I was eating based on requests from the other table. The food buffet was quite good and honestly I would've enjoyed eating more of the buffet if I wasn't focused on the meats. They brought out a pitcher of sangria that was really good. Overall I had a really good experience. It's comparable to a good Brazilian steakhouse and the price is really affordable. The ambiance is nice, the servers are all polite and friendly. Some of the guys serving the meats seemed a little ready to get off work but overall I had a great time. Worth checking out if you're visiting Mexicali! read more

AN OUTSTANDING RESTAURANT IN MEXICALI! I went with a large group on a Saturday night. The food was fresh and absolutely delicious. There were abundant cuts of meats that made their way around the restaurant, and the service here easily bests and rivals the kind you would find in some high-end restaurants in Los Angeles or New York. One helpful tip: It definitely helps to bring a Spanish speaker with you, or to brush up on your own Spanish skills. There are limited instructions in English, but most staff only speaks Spanish. This was my first time at a Brazilian style BBQ. First I went to the food bar and there was tons of variety. My favorite thing from the bar was the ceviche. It was spicy and cold. There were also these egg rolls that had some sort of shredded meat inside that were amazing. Lots of different fruits to choose from that compliment well with their delicious meats. I loved all the meat I was served and kept my indicator on green until I couldn't eat anymore. I would definitely return when I go back to Mexicali. read more

Absolutely terrible service, poorly maintained buffer and lackluster meats. If you are expecting Fogo or texas de brazil quality you should wait till you go back to Scottsdale or LA/SD. Service was the worst. Many gauchos would walk right by me even though i was green and had no meat. Took 20 min to get the bill and the manager didn't speak english or care that I wasn't happy. WOWZEEEEEEE! INCREDIBLE!!! This has been by far my best meal in a loooooong time. I probably hadn't ate that much (at once) and as great in at least 20 years. So, the concept is pretty cool. It's a buffet, but not just an ordinary one. You serve your salads -not just 5 or so- there is amost anything to find there. Then you have a little stand with a disc: half red (NO gracias) and green (SI por favor) or so. You have it on green and they keep coming offering you two cuts (of like 30+) at once of meats. Beef, turkey, pork, lamb, shrimp, chicken, chorizos, etc. They will not stop offering over and over until the disc is on NO. All you can eat! Ok, I ate lots more than I could but it was so worth it! I will happily run a marathon in this idea's health! YUMS! Oh, yeah, then you have desserts. Don't get me started... but there is something for every palate! Promise! They are generous with spices and flavors. You will NOT need any chile, I promise! Actually, please always consider that "in Mexico they do not label HOT" LOL Bon apetit! You won't regret it! What? Very nice place. Except the rap music being a little bit too loud, this is a very family friendly place. Food is great, a lot of choice of meat on skewers. Price is 310 peso for man and 300 for woman. Drinks extras. They have a liquor bar and a salad bar with fruits. Surprised to find jamon serrano in the salad bar. read more

Not a very good experience. We were not greeted by anyone and had to wait several minutes before anyone offered to seat us. The girl who came out acted kind of grumpy and unfriendly. They advertise 30 cuts of meat but they just kept bringing out the same 5 or 6 types. The turkey sausage was good but most of the others were bland and burnt. The salad bar was disappointing. It looks very good from the photos but not much really looked tasted in person. I tried macaroni salad and a seafood salad, both were decent but nothing too great. The waiter never came around a second time to offer drink refills. We had to wait a long time once we asked for the check. When it did come, it was incorrect and we had to wait again to get the corrected version. We were surprised we had to pay for parking, especially since parking lot is full of pot holes and crowded. Overall just a big disappointment. Paid about $50 for two, and we barely ate. We usually eat at Carvao and will go back next time we're in the mood for a Brazilian steakhouse. read more

It's nice to have a Brazilian Churrascaria nearby. This is the location on Justo Sierra (there's another location 10 min away). The food tastes great and everyone is super friendly. I may have come on a bad day because it took no less than 30-40 min for the Picaña to arrive. One of the servers said they were short staffed, but there seemed to have been enough staff, just not enough Picaña. I'd recommend the other location at Calle De La Industria, in Zona Industrial. read more

This place is pretty good and it's half the cost of Rei Do Gado in San Diego. Make sure you get "todos" of everything they bring since its AYCE! Also talk to the beautiful hostess that has the mostess. read more
