This restaurant is family owned and has been open since 1945. Standing here with such a glamour tells you that they are doing good and people loves it. The ambiance reflects the Old with touch of the new. One thing I loved was the bathroom. In this case the sink of men's bathroom. Is so beautifully colorful with hand painted ceramics. Is justa great touch. I come here most of the time to get a good bowl of Caldo de Carne. Pretty much is a Rib stew with vegetables. They serve with a little bowl of seasoned rice. I put that in the stew every time. Is just the way I like it. The stew is mild so, if you want some spiciness you can ask for salsa picante and add in to it. The amount is no joke. One bowl can satisfy an average adult without problem. The service is great and all the servers are very attentive. Is one of those restaurant that has to be included during a visit here in Mexicali. Our family loves this place! We've been coming here for years and it never disappoints. The breakfast buffet is amazing with lots of tasty Mexican food. The service is always friendly, and the restaurant looks really cool with its mariachi decorations. Even when we came close to breakfast buffet the food was still fresh and delicious. They treated us great and the food was delicious! I had "lengua con mole poblano" with beans and rice. I devoured it! My hubby had some steak he loved too. We didn't really have room for dessert but that's ok, they are home made, all look so delicious we would still be there chosing one :) We heard it's a very traditional and old restaurant in Mexicali. So I think, if you really want authentic, this is a great place to eat. read more

Since I am not Mexican I don't have a good knowledge about Mexican food. But some of my Mexican friends suggested me this nice restaurant. I ordered some carne asada, a soup, and a chili relleno and everything was perfect. Since I'm Italian I can taste good quality food and that's the case.
