    Caldo de Res.

This restaurant is family owned and has been open since 1945. Standing here with such a glamour tells you that they are doing good and people loves it. The ambiance reflects the Old with touch of the new. One thing I loved was the bathroom. In this case the sink of men's bathroom. Is so beautifully colorful with hand painted ceramics. Is justa great touch. I come here most of the time to get a good bowl of Caldo de Carne. Pretty much is a Rib stew with vegetables. They serve with a little bowl of seasoned rice. I put that in the stew every time. Is just the way I like it. The stew is mild so, if you want some spiciness you can ask for salsa picante and add in to it. The amount is no joke. One bowl can satisfy an average adult without problem. The service is great and all the servers are very attentive. Is one of those restaurant that has to be included during a visit here in Mexicali. One thing. Looking from the outside looks like a house so, as soon as the map tells you that you are close check for the sign of the restaurant.

The breakfast buffet is amazing. There's something for everyone but it's only until 1pm.

The food is good but it takes way to long to get ready. if you plan to eat here, you better have plenty of time to spare

After finding this place on Instagram I decided to celebrate my mother's native country's…read moreindependence by going to Mexicali to try a new twist on a lot of the food I grew up eating. And I am very glad I decided to drive to Mex instead of eating in the culinary challenged Imperial Valley restaurant scene. We had the chef's bring out their choice in our courses as long as it was a Vegetarian option. So the first dish out was the best freaking Nachos I have ever ate with Cherry Tomatoes, Cilantro, Red Onions and all kinds of their delicious garnishes including Jalapeños. Our second dish out was a Mushroom Dish prepared with Cheese, Zucchini, Squash and a bunch of other goodies it was my least favorite but still a flavorful dish for the curious palate. Our third meal included two different Vegetarian Enchiladas Dish's one of which had an apple tasting sweet and spicy sauce, it was a delicious and interesting twist on Enchiladas, that dish was also garnished with local Pomegranate that is in season. For dessert they brought out two different Cakes which were also good. Oh yeah I forgot to mention we washed it all down with freshly made Cucumber Water and Sangrias. It was delicious, thanks La Cenaduria, I will be back. The only negative to this Restaurant is the location, it's a bit rough outside the doors but it is still worth the momentary discomfort. The comfort you will find in their food.
