After finding this place on Instagram I decided to celebrate my mother's native country's independence by going to Mexicali to try a new twist on a lot of the food I grew up eating. And I am very glad I decided to drive to Mex instead of eating in the culinary challenged Imperial Valley restaurant scene. We had the chef's bring out their choice in our courses as long as it was a Vegetarian option. So the first dish out was the best freaking Nachos I have ever ate with Cherry Tomatoes, Cilantro, Red Onions and all kinds of their delicious garnishes including Jalapeños. Our second dish out was a Mushroom Dish prepared with Cheese, Zucchini, Squash and a bunch of other goodies it was my least favorite but still a flavorful dish for the curious palate. Our third meal included two different Vegetarian Enchiladas Dish's one of which had an apple tasting sweet and spicy sauce, it was a delicious and interesting twist on Enchiladas, that dish was also garnished with local Pomegranate that is in season. For dessert they brought out two different Cakes which were also good. Oh yeah I forgot to mention we washed it all down with freshly made Cucumber Water and Sangrias. It was delicious, thanks La Cenaduria, I will be back. The only negative to this Restaurant is the location, it's a bit rough outside the doors but it is still worth the momentary discomfort. The comfort you will find in their food. read more
