If you're interested in the art of pole and have zero experience this is the place to start (: I was lucky enough to have started at Siren back when they opened in 2022, where my first class was with none other than Josh - the owner of this great establishment. It was an intro to pole class where we started out with a great warm up sesh that introduced us into holding the pole to stretch out our sides into a banana shape. We also did a good amount of yoga stretches on our mats and conditioning on the pole to prevent injury as pole can be strenuous on your body. When it came down to the pole moves, Josh was precise and steady when explaining the moves to our class. I appreciated how he was more than happy to demonstrate again when one of us asked and he went one-by-one to see how we recreated the move taught along with encouragement and feedback. This is a running theme with all the instructors at Siren as 6 poles in the studio makes it easier to focus on individuals in a smaller class. I remember not being able to hang from the pole with solely my arms, I felt discouraged for a sec but Josh looked at me and said its okay and all I need to do is to keep reinforcing this movement with consistency. The way he said that to me felt like I really could do it if i keep trying, so I did! I kept coming back to Siren Pole Dance and met many more great instructors that each have great tips and ways of educating people about pole. Not to mention the great community this studio has built with their members! I moved away from Covina where Siren was just a few minutes away, but I am always happy to come back to this studio along with their sister studio (Siren Aerial Fitness) whenever I get the chance. The studios keep their community engaged by holding local markets, pole parties, and special class workshops all announced on their socials. Again, if you have a feeling you want to give Pole a try, this is a wonderful place to start. Y'all. This was my first time doing a pole class and it was so much fun. I took the INTRO class on Friday at 6pm with SUHA. No joke, I actually did a modified hand stand on the pole, and I've never done that before. But don't worry if you cannot! LOTS of modifications and the instructor does 1:1 to make sure you are safe. I felt welcomed and part of the community even before walking through that door. Long story short, my Bestfriend convinced me, so I signed up for the 3 classes $45 special. She talks about how amazing SUHA is, and I definitely agree. The women in the room cheer each other on, and are so funny. I felt like I was in a wellness retreat to be honest haha because the vibes were so great. First 30min you'd warm up like yoga and then you learn some tricks on the pole and floor. Tip: wear a sports bra and shorts because you won't be able to do much with leggings. I just want to share that I felt confident, sexy, and supported. Looking forward to my next class. I've been attending this studio on and off for a year and would recommend it to anyone trying to get more into fitness. Especially those who want to work on arm and core strength, and flexibility. Class booking is done via the Fit By Wit app. There are 6 poles in the studio so classes tend to book out. But sometimes there is a last min opening if you're on the waitlist. I've been going to pole classes at Siren for about 2 months now and I love it! The instructors are very accommodating and kind and everyone is so supportive and feels so safe here! Classes are small and you learn and practice around 3-4 moves per class! Would definitely recommend to anyone who is interested in trying pole out! Whether you are just learning or have some pole experience this is the studio to go to. Josh is the owner and a instructor, I followed him here from fine yoga fit in El Monte, he is one of my favorite instructors so I followed him to his new studio. I learn a lot from josh and he breaks down the move step by step so I can really understand and get the moves. He has a bubbly personality and makes you feel very comfortable and welcome. He really takes time for his students and is very encouraging and thorough. He takes notes of all the students and what they want to learn and etc. This studio is fully equipped with 6 poles, alcohol and towels for every student, pole crash mat. There are curtains so it's private and you don't need to worry about perverts trying to peek in. It is very spacious and you don't need to worry about kicking the next person on the next pole. With the smaller class size, I am able to get personalized feedback from the instructor every class. Got an ad for this studio when I was considering taking a pole class...I was understandably nervous but figured I could take one class to try it out. That was back in November and I haven't looked back since. Everyone including the instructors is so supportive and sweet during the sessions. It's become my favorite weekly self care activity and what I think sets Siren apart from other studios is how inclusive they are. I found this place exactly on July 31, 2022 and I've stayed with Siren ever since! Josh, the owner of the studio, is one of the most beautiful souls you'll ever meet.
