We had a few substitute teachers and all were wonderful except for one. We had an issue where one of the other students was causing trouble, but the sub didn't care. We brought our 7-year-old daughter here expecting a positive experience where she could learn, have fun, and feel welcomed. Instead, she left sad, disappointed, and feeling discouraged. We were given information regarding the studio's hours and the class that was not accurate. Based on the information we were given, we made arrangements and went out of our way to make this work for our daughter. We also purchased the studio's required clothing and dance shoes, which we did. We spent the money because we trusted that we were being given accurate information and that our daughter would be properly accommodated in the class. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. What is even more upsetting is how the situation was handled--or rather, not handled--afterward. The owner was made aware of our concerns, yet never bothered to follow up with us. Not even a phone call or message to check on what happened or to see how our daughter was doing. As a parent, watching your 7-year-old walk away from an activity she was supposed to enjoy feeling sad and disappointed is unacceptable. Businesses that work with children should understand that this isn't simply about a class or a purchase. There is a child and a family on the other side of that transaction. We were willing to give this studio our time, trust, and money. Unfortunately, we did not receive the honesty, communication, or consideration we expected in return. Ms Amma and Ms Shayna were incredible teachers. They were nurturing yet firm and they broke the dance moves down to ones that all the kids could follow. I liked their approach. First teach them the dance steps, then focus on perfecting them and teaching them expressions. Then practice....practice...practice....
