I'm incredibly sad that Romance and Dance announced the Rancho location's closure today with so little notice. Doreen, Tiffany, and Elisha were wonderful. They carried so much with grace and made this community worth showing up for. My concern is with ownership and the conditions leading up to the closure. In the final days, we were practicing pole in the dark, at night with candles and no air conditioning after the electricity went out. My understanding was that the electricity bill had gone unpaid. Given the physical demands and risks of pole, I did not feel safe practicing in those conditions. I also experienced cleanliness issues including large cockroaches that added to my concerns. The owners' announcement acknowledged that they had been trying for some time to keep Rancho open. I understand that financial difficulties and closing a business are painful. Still, instructors and clients deserved timely communication about the conditions and the possibility of closure so they could make informed decisions and prepare. I'm writing this because I care about the people who made these studios special, and I want the remaining Carson location to do better. Instructors deserve a safe, clean workplace. Clients deserve a safe, clean place to practice. Both deserve honest communication. I wish the best for everyone involved, especially the Rancho instructors, staff, and community now navigating this loss

It was an intro to pole class where we started out with a great warm up sesh that introduced us into holding the pole to stretch out our sides into a banana shape. We also did a good amount of yoga stretches on our mats and conditioning on the pole to prevent injury as pole can be strenuous on your body. When it came down to the pole moves, Josh was precise and steady when explaining the moves to our class. I appreciated how he was more than happy to demonstrate again when one of us asked and he went one-by-one to see how we recreated the move taught along with encouragement and feedback. This is a running theme with all the instructors at Siren as 6 poles in the studio makes it easier to focus on individuals in a smaller class. I remember not being able to hang from the pole with solely my arms, I felt discouraged for a sec but Josh looked at me and said its okay and all I need to do is to keep reinforcing this movement with consistency. The way he said that to me felt like I really could do it if i keep trying, so I did! I kept coming back to Siren Pole Dance and met many more great instructors that each have great tips and ways of educating people about pole. She talks about how amazing SUHA is, and I definitely agree. The women in the room cheer each other on, and are so funny. I felt like I was in a wellness retreat to be honest haha because the vibes were so great. First 30min you'd warm up like yoga and then you learn some tricks on the pole and floor. However, when I found out they offer classes on ClassPass, the experience really went downhill. One class they kicked me out of my reservation because they said it wasn't profitable, and then when I arrived exactly 11 minutes late for another class they wouldn't let me in and said they have a five-minute late policy, which was never stated anywhere and I've witnessed before other people showing up later than that with no issue. I even googled it and it clearly states a 15-minute grace period (screenshot below). When I asked for help, the staff was completely inflexible and didn't try to accommodate at all. They did not show any compassion when I told them I came rushing from work to try to make it to class. They clearly have something against people using ClassPass, but then why offer classes on there if it upsets them so much.. maybe don't offer classes on there. On top of that, ClassPass will charge for a missed class fee, so you lose your points, money, and time. It seems the studio is prioritizing profit over customer experience, and unfortunately, that approach is likely to cost them lots of customers including me.

After speaking with Sarah, I was comfortable in booking 3x sessions 2 hrs per session for a total of 6 hours of driving school instructions for my daughter. Booking and payment were made easy online. The purchase is good for one year from the date of purchase. When you're ready for the 1st session, just call or text them to schedule it. They are open from Monday through Friday. Even though their business office is closed on the weekends, their driving instructors are available to teach on the weekends which is perfect for us.
